Abstract

A interchangeable attachment piece pendant which may be decorated with ornamentation and used in conjunction with fabric, scarves, rope, string, cord, rubber tubing, chain or any equivalent material to create a plurality of stylish looks such as draping necklaces, choker necklaces, belts, capes, hair ornamentation and any such equivalent use. Interchangeable Scarf Pendant Accessory is comprised of the interchangeable attachment piece pendants with openings to insert scarf, fabric, rope, string, cord, rubber tubing, chain or any equivalent material and drilled holes in which to attach permanent or detachable ornamentation.

Description

    REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent application 61/537,116 filed on Sep. 21, 2011 by Meeka Ann Cook, entitled Interchangeable Scarf Pendant Accessory.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a fashion accessory that enables a scarf to be worn in a plurality of ways including as a necklace, belt, or cape. Scarves are a well known accessory of apparel. They can add color and versatility to any woman's wardrobe. Problems that arise when wearing scarves are how to avoid bulky knots. It is also difficult to accessorize necklaces with scarves due to the bulk and knots. The interchangeable pendant accessory can be utilized with not only scarves, but different types of fabric, rope, leather, chain, rubber tubing or any material that can be threaded through the openings in the pendant.
  • 2. Discussions of Prior Art
  • Scarf rings and scarf buckles are a well known accessory item. These objects are generally single ring or double hole buckle rings in which a scarf can be attached to. Scarf sliders are another item that can be slid onto a scarf as a pendant. These are also limited in scope as to how they can be worn. The present invention is a pendant with openings for fabric, scarves, rope or any material in addition to drilled holes for attaching any variety of decorative ornamentation. By utilizing a pendant with multiple openings, pendants may be utilized as neck ornamentation such as a draping necklace or choker necklace in addition to the creation of belts, capes, bandeau tops, handbag straps, hair ornamentation, or in any equivalent means.
  • SUMMARY
  • According to the embodiment of the present invention, a pendant with at least two openings for inserting a scarf, cord, rope, leather, chain, or any equivalent material and at least one, but preferably 3 small drilled holes at the bottom which may be used to attach decorative ornamentation. Said pendant may then be used in conjunction with fabric, scarves, rope, leather, chains, or any plurality of materials to create neck ornamentation which includes necklaces, or chokers as well as belts, capes, bandeau tops, handbag straps, or hair ornamentation. The method and the system of using a pendant with openings to insert fabric, scarves, rope, leather, chains or any equivalent means and attaching decorative ornamentation to create pendants, thereby creating an interchangeable system of accessory pieces is included in present invention. The present invention system and method can be used to create neck ornamentation, handbag straps, hair ornamentation, bandeau top or in any equivalent means.
  • In one aspect wherein the openings for scarf or other material may be circular in design or any shape at all that fabric, scarf, rope, leather, chain or any equivalent means can be inserted. In one aspect wherein the interchangeable pendant may be made of a material selected from the group consisting of: plastic, wood, leather, fabric, metal, ceramic, resin, shell, aluminum, silver, gold or any equivalent means. In one aspect wherein the interchangeable pendant may be formed into the shape of a circle, square, rectangle, triangle, or any equivalent shape. In one aspect wherein at least one but preferably three small holes are drilled in the bottom of pendant enabling the addition of any kind of embellishment selected from the group consisting of: beading, sequin, buttons, rhinestones, gemstones, chains, zippers, embroidery, shells, silver beads, charms or any other equivalent means. In further detail, another aspect is the method of creating a variety of stylishly accessorizing a wardrobe by the use of interchangeable pendants in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, cord, leather or any equivalent means to create neck ornamentation, belts, capes, handbag straps or hair ornamentation.
  • Another possible embodiment of present invention does not limit its scope to a fashion accessory only for women, but can be expanded to an accessory item for pets such as dogs and cats.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
  • Referring now to the invention in more detail, FIG. 1 is a view of basic form of invention which consists of interchangeable attachment piece pendant 2 with an example of using three small holes 6 and larger openings 4. The construction details of present invention as shown in FIG. 1 may consist of but are not limited to the following details. The component of present invention named interchangeable attachment piece pendant 2 may be comprised of resin, plastic, wood, leather, fabric, metal, silver, gold, aluminum, shell, or ceramic or any other equivalent means.
  • The shape of interchangeable attachment piece pendant 2 may also be circular, square, rectangular, triangular, or octagonal or any shape not listed here. It may comprise symbols such as, but not limited to peace signs, spirals, and moons or otherwise. Interchangeable attachment pendant 2 may also be made in the shape of objects such as, but limited to turtles, seahorse, fish, and heads of animals or any other such object.
  • Interchangeable attachment piece 2 may be painted, beaded, carved, cut out, soldered, covered with any fabric or other substance or decorated in any manner. Interchangeable attachment piece pendant 2 in FIG. 1 is 2 inches in diameter but can be any size or shape. Cut out holes 4 is preferably 2 holes of approximately ½ inch in diameter, but can be made larger to accommodate larger scarves or smaller to accommodate other materials such as rope or cord and can be any number of cut out holes to thread scarf in a different manner. FIG. 1 drilled holes 6 show 3 holes of 2 mm size but these holes can be larger or smaller and any number of holes can be utilized to attach ornamentation. Holes can also be made to attach clip on ornamentation that can be interchanged more easily.
  • FIG. 2, FIG. 3, and FIG. 4 show interchangeable attachment piece pendant 2 complete with different examples of decorative ornamentation 8.   • These are only examples of execution of the embodiment of system of present invention. Present invention can be used in conjunction with any scarf, fabric, rope, chain, leather, rubber cord, or any equivalent material that can be threaded through opening 4. The descriptions herein provide the preferred embodiment of present invention, but should not be construed as limiting the scope of use.

Claims (13)

1. A fashion accessory which consists of an interchangeable attachment piece pendant which can be decorated with ornamentation and used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain or any equivalent means to create a plurality of styles and types of looks comprising in combination:
a. Said interchangeable attachment piece pendant which has at least one but preferably two and possibly more openings to insert scarf, fabric, rope, chain, tubing, cord, string or any equivalent means.
b. Said interchangeable attachment piece pendant which in addition to above mentioned openings to insert scarf or other means has at least one but preferably three drilled holes in which to apply decorative ornamentation.
2. Said interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 wherein the openings for scarf, fabric, rope, chain or any equivalent means may be circular in design or any shape at all including square, rectangular, or triangular that aforementioned materials can be inserted.
3. Said interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 wherein the attachment piece pendant may be made of a material selected from the group consisting of: plastic, wood, leather, fabric, metal, ceramic, resin, shell, aluminum, silver or any other equivalent means.
4. Said interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 wherein the attachment piece may be formed into the shape of a circle, square, rectangle, triangle or any equivalent shape including also but not limited to symbols or objects.
5. The ornamentation of interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim I wherein ornamentation may be comprised of any type of beading, wood bead, shell, sequin, button, rhinestone, gemstone, metal bead, charm, silver bead, gold bead, chain, zipper, string, leather, fabric or any notion at all that can be attached as permanent or detachable onto interchangeable attachment piece pendant.
6. The interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 with or without ornamentation in which said pendant can be used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, rubber tubing, or any equivalent material to create a variety of stylish looks.
7. The interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 with or without ornamentation in which said pendant can be used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, rubber tubing, sewed stretch fabric circle, or any equivalent material to create a draping necklace or choker necklace.
8. The interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 with or without ornamentation in which said pendant can be used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, rubber tubing, or any equivalent material to create a belt.
9. The interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim I with or without ornamentation in which said pendant can be used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, or any equivalent material to create a cape.
10. The interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim 1 with or without ornamentation in which said pendant can be used in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rubber tubing, rope, string, elastic string, elastic hair band or any equivalent means to create hair ornamentation such as headbands or other decorative hair accessory.
11. The use of interchangeable attachment piece pendant of claim I with or without ornamentation to be used as an accessory item not only for humans but for domestic animals such as dogs or cats.
12. The method of using interchangeable attachment piece pendants in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, rubber tubing or any equivalent means to create necklaces, belts, or other types of fashion accessory styles and looks.
13. A system of using interchangeable attachment piece pendants of claim 1 in conjunction with scarves, fabric, rope, chain, rubber tubing or any equivalent means to be mixed and matched and used in a plurality of ways create necklaces, belts, or other types of fashion accessory styles and looks.
