This invention relates to improvements in con# tainers and more salves and like pr particularly to a cbntainer for oducts. One object is to pros vide a container of this type that is substantially the shape of a vided for sealing the ends lead pencil, means being proof the container."
A further object is to provide a ymulti'walled container of uniform cept for one attened collapsible so that the contents may through one end completely, or part at may be desired and when but a part of tents are evacuated the container serving to hold the remainder as tial evacuation had not been diameter throughoutexend, the cont er being ejected time, as
satisfactorily as though paraccomplished, and
to evacuate this remainder or part thereof as desired.
'A further object is to provide a container Vfor a medicated composition and which container will 'at all times protect the composition from moisture and extraneous matter generally and provide means for applying the composition to,
the body when and as desired.
Afurther object of novel appearan upon the person is to provide a salve container ce that Amaybe readily carried without inconvenience and a container that is inexpensive to manufacture and sanitary in use.
With the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts vto be scribed, pointed Vout in the hereinafter fully declaims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this application for patent and in v l Fig. 1 is a viewfof the -container in side elevation.
Fig. 2 is'a view similar to Fig. 1 but rotated to a position at right angles thereto.
on the line 4-4.
sectional view through Fig. 3
Fig; 5 is a side view of Fig. 3 with'a part of one wall broken away.
Fig. 6 is an end view of Fig. l.
Fig. 'Iis a view in perspective .of the straw portion of the container. Like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views.
The container includes a straw as a main body portion,
a wrapping of lead foil being applied to the straw body, a paper label being wrapped about the lead foil, and a wrapping of cellophane applied to the la bel. The straw, an ordinary foil, and the cellophane the conas. by a pair of pliers Vcompounds comprising a soda water straw, may be chemically treated to make it grease proof by applying a coating of' nitro-cellulose compound such as a solution -of gun cotton to the inner wall ofthe straw. lllie s, straw is now illled with the salve, one vend `of' 5 the straw being pinched or attened during the process. The lead foil is now wrapped about the straw, the label then wrapped about the lead wrapped about'the label.- The lead foil ispreferably extended somewhat l0 beyond the flattened end of the straw and the cellophane extended materially beyond the lead foil. The tip end of the lead foil and the p'rojecting portion of the cellophane are now folded back upon the attened end of the container and 15 upon the immediately adjacent round portion thereof, the extreme and flattened end of the container now being crimpedor pressed togethery or pincers so-that the folded cellophane and lead foil will retain its shape 20 and position. At the opposite non-flattened end of the container the lead foil and cellophane are folded over the open end ofthe straw to form a closure therefor to retain the contents therein. f The reference numeral i denotes the straw 25 about which the lead foil 2 is wrapped, the straw being illled with the compound I while one endof the straw is pressed together by the fingers or support in which it may be 5 The label 4 is now applied to the lead foil and the 30 l and cellophane pressed inwardly to form a closure' for the end' 1 of the container.
To evacuate the contents lead foil and cellophane are opened away from the end 1 and the flattened end of the tube manually squeezed to force out the compound.
What is claimed is:-A
1. A container and dispenser for salve-like 45 tube of flexible mate-- rial crimped at ne end, a wrapping of lead foil about'said tube and extending beyond both ends thereof, va label' about said lead foil, and a sheet of cellophane wrapped about'saidlabel 50 and tube and extending materially beyond one end thereof and beyond the Aend of said lead foil, said lead foil and cellophane being folded back upon the flattened end of the con` tainer.
