A pump of the character described; comprising a xed piston having a .cylinder mounted thereon for reciprocation, a plate member mounted forreciprocation longitudinally ofv said cyl.- inder, flanges projecting from said member to'- ward said cylinder, lugs on said cylinder over and underlying said flanges, the distance between said lugs being greater than the distance between said flanges plus the stroke of said member, ad-

8. A pump of the character described, comprising cooperating piston and cylinder members, a plate member positioned laterally of and reciprocable longitudinally of said members and having a flange extending toward said members,
