Abstract

Some embodiments provide an attachment for a handbag, the attachment comprising: (a) a latch for coupling the attachment to the handbag; and (b) at least one ornament with a fastener for attaching the ornament to a vertical surface to elevate the handbag from contacting a surface below.

Description

FIELD OF ENDEAVOR

The present invention relates to an attachment and hanging accessories for handbags. More particularly, this invention relates to a portable hanger for hanging handbags and other strap having bags from flat surfaces.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Some embodiments provide an attachment for a handbag, the attachment comprising: (a) a latch for coupling the attachment to the handbag; and (b) at least one ornament with a fastener for attaching the ornament to a vertical surface to elevate the handbag from contacting a surface below.
In some embodiments, the fastener may be a suction cup. Optionally, the ornament is a first ornament, and the attachment further comprising a second ornament.
Optionally the ornament is a hook in the shape of an S. In some embodiments the second ornament comprises a hook for elevating an article from contacting a surface from below.
Optionally, the fastener further comprises a hook for coupling to an extension protruding from the vertical surface. In one embodiment, the fastener extends from a back side of the ornament, wherein a front side of the ornament comprises a decorative form for obscuring the fastener from view. Optionally, the attachment further comprises a ring and a set of chains, and each chain may be for coupling at least one of the latch and ornament to the ring.
Some embodiments provide an attachment for a handbag, the attachment comprising: (a) a ring; (b) a fastener flexibly linked to the ring, the fastener for attaching the handbag holder to a handbag; and (c) a plurality of extensions flexibly linked to the ring, each extension comprising an adornment, where at least one particular adornment comprises a suction cup that attaches to a vertical surface to vertically suspend the handbag from the extension associated with the particular adornment comprising the suction cup.
Some embodiments provide an attachment for a handbag, the attachment comprising: (a) a securing means comprising at least one of a set of: (1) a base for coupling the attachment to a flat surface; (2) a gripping latch; and (3) a fastening mechanism. The attachment further comprising (b) a handbag holder comprising at least one of a set of: (1) a clasp; (2) a chain; and (3) a decorative element. An embodiment may further comprise (c) a jewelry accessory comprising at least one of a set of: (1) a decorative charm; (2) a releaseable hanger; and (3) a hook.
Embodiments include apparatus, methods, and devices where, for example a method embodiment of attachment for a handbag embodiment may include: (a) attaching the latch to a flat surface where the latch latches on to the surface; (b) attaching a handbag to the latch; (c) hanging the handbag; and (d) elevating the handbag from contacting a surface below.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In the following detailed description of the invention, numerous details, examples, and embodiments of the invention are set forth and described. However, it will be clear and apparent to one skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to the embodiments set forth and that the invention may be practiced without some of the specific details and examples discussed.
Embodiments of the present invention include an attachment for a handbag that may comprise a latch for coupling the attachment to the handbag and at least one ornament with a fastener for attaching the ornament to a vertical surface to elevate the handbag from contacting a surface below. In some embodiments, the fastener may be a suction cup having an ability to attach to a surface.
FIG. 1 is an exemplary depiction of a handbag being held up by an attachment embodiment 100. In this figure, the handbag 150 may be attached to a flat surface area 110 by a latch 140 that may connect to the handles of the handbag 150 and via a suction cup 120 which may be used to hold the attachment to the flat surface area 110. The attachment may also have a hook 130 which may for example be in the shape of the letter S. In this embodiment, the suction cup 120 is supporting the weight of the handbag 150 and connected to the handbag through the latch 140 which may be connected to the handles of the handbag.
FIG. 2 is an inside profile view 200 of the exemplary attachment of FIG. XX showing the aperture 270. The open view shows the hole 240 which may hold the suctions cup 230 and a hinge 250 that holds the members 220 and 225 and a pin 260 that may be used to hold the hinge together. This embodiment shows the inter workings of an exemplary attachment which allows for the suction cup to be hidden when closed and be nicely displayed on a purse with an ornamental design connected to the attachment via a ring member 280.
FIG. 3 depicts, in a side profile perspective view, the exemplary attachment 300, i.e., with its suction cup 310 in an open and closed position. Also shown in the open view, is a pin 320 and hinge 340 that when closed is kept closed by a clipping mechanism 330. Whether the attachment is in an open position 380, a closed position 390, or some combination, the suction cup is attached to the inner wall 330 or 360 via a means necessary to hold the suction up in place. Accordingly, for the closed position, the suction is not visible and the attachment may be used for its ornamental property.
For an exemplary heart shaped Sassy attachment 400 an embodiment as depicted in FIG. 4 may be used. The attachment may comprise a number of ornaments attached, e.g., a lipstick, a pair of lips, diamond studded heart, etc. The attachment may have a hook in the shape of the letter S for receiving handles or means for attaching multiple bags. The latch for coupling the handbag may also be available for receiving the bag.
FIG. 5 is an inside profile view 500 of the exemplary attachment's suction cup 530. This view shows the hole 520 which may hold the suctions cup 530. This figure shows the inter workings of an exemplary attachment which allows for the suction cup to be attached to an ornamental portion of the attachment.
FIG. 6 is an inside profile view 600 of an exemplary suction cup assembly. The view shows the different parts of the suction cup 540 which may be used to hold the attachment and a flat surface together. This view shows the different parts of the suction cup.
FIG. 7 is yet another view of an exemplary suction cup assembly 700. The view shows the suction cup that may be held together to the inner wall of the attachment and an example of attaching means used.
FIG. 8 is yet another method of an exemplary suction cup assembly 800. The view shows the suction cup that may be held together to the inner wall of the attachment via a piece of the attachment extending from the outer edge and, as an example, holding the suction cup intact.
FIG. 9 is a depiction of another exemplary embodiment of the attachment 900.
The attachment may comprise a number of ornaments attached, e.g., a lipstick, a pair of lips, diamond studded heart, etc. The attachment may have a hook in the shape of the letter S for receiving handles or means for attaching multiple bags. The latch for coupling the handbag may also be available for receiving the bag.
FIG. 10 is a depiction of another exemplary embodiment of the attachment 1000 in a form of a lollypop with the suction up placed behind the round circle showing a lollypop.
FIG. 11 is a depiction of a side profile view of the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 10. This embodiment shows the suction cup being secured in the lollipop charm.
FIG. 12 depicts an embodiment of the attachment attached to a briefcase and holding it up away from a bottom surface. In some embodiments the heart shaped outer shell with the suction cup attached to a flat surface and a ring shaped connector connecting the charms and ornaments which may be holding the briefcase via a latch coupled to ring shaped connector. The attachment may optionally have a hook in the shape of the letter S that may hold other bags.
FIG. 13 depicts an embodiment of the attachment attached to a handbag with the handbag in it's natural state and sitting on a flat surface. In this embodiment the heart shaped outer shell with the suction cup sits as an accessory or ornament attached to the handbag via a latch coupled to ring shaped connector. The attachment may optionally have a hook in the shape of the letter S that may hold other bags.
FIG. 14 depicts the handbag and attachment of FIG. 13 where the embodiment of the attachment is holding the handbag to a flat surface and away from the bottom surface. In this embodiment the heart shaped outer shell with the suction cup serves as the piece which is attached to a flat surface and holding up the handbag via a latch coupled to ring shaped connector. The attachment may optionally have a hook in the shape of the letter S that may hold other bags.
FIG. 15 depicts an embodiment of the attachment attached to a handbag and holding it up away from a bottom surface. In some embodiments a hook in the shape of the letter S may hold the handbag on a hanger and a ring shaped connector connecting the charms and ornaments which may be holding the briefcase via a latch coupled to ring shaped connector. The attachment may optionally have a heart shaped outer shell with the suction cup having the ability to attach to a flat surface.
FIG. 16 depicts an embodiment of the attachment attached to a handbag and holding it up away from a bottom surface. In this example the suction cup is depicted as attached to a flat surface and the ornament in an open position connected to a ring shaped connector connecting the charms and ornaments which may be holding the briefcase via a latch coupled to ring shaped connector.
It is contemplated that various combinations and/or sub-combinations of the specific features and aspects of the above embodiments may be made and still fall within the scope of the invention. Accordingly, it should be understood that various features and aspects of the disclosed embodiments may be combined with or substituted for one another in order to form varying modes of the disclosed invention. Further it is intended that the scope of the present invention herein disclosed by way of examples should not be limited by the particular disclosed embodiments described above.
While the invention has been described with reference to numerous specific details, one of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that the invention can be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit of the invention. Thus, one of ordinary skill in the art would understand that the invention is not to be limited by the foregoing illustrative details, but rather is to be defined by the appended claims.

Claims

1. An attachment for a handbag, the attachment comprising:

a latch for coupling the attachment to the handbag; and

at least one ornament with a fastener for attaching the ornament to a vertical surface to elevate the handbag from contacting a surface below.

2. The attachment of claim 1, wherein the fastener is a suction cup.

3. The attachment of claim 1, wherein the ornament is a first ornament, and the attachment further comprising a second ornament.

4. The attachment of claim 1, wherein the ornament is a hook in the shape of an S.

5. The attachment of claim 3, wherein the second ornament comprises a hook for elevating an article from contacting a surface from below.

6. The attachment of claim 1, wherein the fastener comprises a hook for coupling to an extension protruding from the vertical surface.

7. The attachment of claim 1, wherein the fastener extends from a back side of the ornament, wherein a front side of the ornament comprises a decorative form for obscuring the fastener from view.

8. The attachment of claim 1 further comprising a ring and a set of chains, each chain for coupling at least one of the latch and ornament to the ring.

9. A handbag holder comprising:

a ring;

a fastener flexibly linked to the ring, the fastener for attaching the handbag holder to a handbag; and

a plurality of extensions flexibly linked to the ring, each extension comprising an adornment, wherein at least one particular adornment comprises a suction cup that attaches to a vertical surface to vertically suspend the handbag from the extension associated with the particular adornment comprising the suction cup.

10. An attachment to a handbag comprising:

a securing means comprising at least one of a set of:

a base for coupling the attachment to a flat surface;

a gripping latch; and

a fastening mechanism;

a handbag holder comprising at least one of a set of:

a clasp;

a chain; and

a decorative element;

a jewelry accessory comprising at least one of a set of:

a decorative charm;

a releaseable hanger; and

a hook.

11. A method for hanging a bag on to a flat surface, the method comprising:

attaching a latch to a flat surface wherein the latch latches on to the surface;

attaching a handbag to the latch;

hanging the handbag; and

elevating the handbag from contacting a surface below.
