Abstract

A scouring pad with through dots for dimensional adjustment is disclosed. The scouring pad has a pad body rolled up into a reel-like shape and can be torn along a primary tear line into a sizeable piece for use, and the sizeable piece is allowed to be further separated along a secondary tear line, so as to achieve the desired dimensional adjustment.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Technical Field
  • The present invention relates to scouring pad products, and more particularly to a rolled-up scouring pad having through dots so as to be torn into sizable pieces to fit different cleaning works.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the existing, commercially available scouring pad 1 is typically made into a fixed size. When a user intends to use the scouring pad 1 for cleaning works, he/she may need to cut the scouring pad 1 into a sizeable piece with knife or scissors and inconvenience thus happens. Besides, the conventional scouring pad 1 lacks a structurally reinforcing design, so its service life is significantly limited. This causes frequent purchase of new scouring pads. In particular, the fact that people usually prefer not to discard a scouring pad until it is worn to breakage brings about serious hygiene concern. All these are because the conventional scouring pad is relatively thick and expensive, so people are unlikely to treat it as disposable. On the other hand, the conventional scouring pad is typically folded before packaged, so a crease line is likely to exist on the pad. If the user fails to cut the pad along the crease line, the cut piece of the pad may be not level. In other words, the crease line limits the possibility of resizing the pad. When the scouring pad is rolled up of a reel-like shape for storage, its bulky nature makes it tend not to hold the reel-like shape, causing inconvenient storage and use.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the shortcomings of the prior art, the present invention provides a roll-up scouring pad with through dots for dimensional adjustment as described in the description and claims.
  • A first objective of the present invention is that the scouring pad has a pad body rolled up into a reel-like shape and can be torn along a primary tear line into a sizeable piece for use, and the sizeable piece is allowed to be further separated along a secondary tear line, so as to achieve the desired dimensional adjustment.
  • A second objective of the present invention is that since the pad body has its surface applied with the one-time adhesive, the pad body, when rolled up, can hold the reel-like shape stably.
  • A third objective of the present invention is the heat-bonded lines provided on the pad body and crossing mutually to define the rectangular areas serve to not only improve the cleaning efficiency of the pad body, but also reinforce the overall strength of the pad body and lengthen the service life of the pad body.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The invention as well as a preferred mode of use, further objectives and advantages thereof will be best understood by reference to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional scouring pad;
  • FIG. 2 is an applied view of the scouring pad;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of rolled-up scouring pad of the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a partial schematic view of the scouring pad of the present invention;
  • FIG. 5 is a first applied view of the scouring pad of the present invention; and
  • FIG. 6 is a second applied view of the scouring pad of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 are a perspective view, a partial schematic view, and applied views of the present invention, respectively. As shown in the drawings, the rolled-up scouring pad 2 of the present invention comprises a pad body 3, a plurality of primary tear lines 32 and a plurality of secondary tear lines 33.
  • The pad body 3 made of nonwoven, polyester or PET is rolled up into a reel-like shape. The pad body 3 has its surface applied with a one-time adhesive 31 that is made of a mixture of acrylic adhesive and emulsion or is made of low-melt fiber. Furthermore, the pad body 3 is provided with a plurality of heat-bonded lines 34 that are constructed from heat-bonded dots and crisscross mutually to define a plurality of rectangular areas on the pad body 3.
  • Each of the primary tear lines 32 is composed of a plurality of through dots and the primary tear lines 32 are arranged on the pad body 3 equidistantly.
  • Each of the secondary tear lines 33 is composed of a plurality of through dots and the secondary tear lines 33 are arranged on the pad body 3 equidistantly.
  • The rolled-up scouring pad 2 is formed by rolling up a long narrow piece of said pad body 3 into the reel-like shape. Since the pad body 3 has its surface applied with the one-time adhesive 31 made of the mixture of acrylic adhesive and emulsion or made of low-melt fiber, the pad body 3, when rolled up, can hold the reel-like shape stably. On the pad body 3, a plurality of primary tear lines 32 and a plurality of secondary tear lines 33 are equidistantly arranged, respectively. When a user intends to use the scouring pad 2, he/she may tear a sizable piece of the pad body 3 along any of the primary tear lines 32, and tat his time, the one-time adhesive 31 on the taken part of the pad body 3 immediately loses its adhesion.
  • The taken, sizeable piece of the pad body 3 can then be used for various cleaning works. Since the heat-bonded lines 34 on the pad body 3 crisscrossing and defining the rectangular areas are depressed from the surface of the pad body 3, the pad body 3 can focus the friction in the rectangular areas to remove filth from articles it cleans and accumulate the filth in the heat-bonded line 34, thereby improving the cleaning efficiency of the pad body 3. The heat-bonded lines 34 serve to not only improve the cleaning efficiency of the pad body 3, but also reinforce the overall strength of the pad body 3 and lengthen the service life of the pad body 3. Moreover, the taken piece of the pad body 3 contains at least one secondary tear line 33, so when the taken piece of the pad body 3 is too large for a different cleaning work, the user may separate the pad body 3 again along the secondary tear line 33 so as to re-dimension the pad body 3 into proper size that meet the current cleaning work. The secondary tear lines 33 alternated with the primary tear lines 32, as shown in the drawings. Alternatively, there may be plural said secondary tear lines 33 arranged between each two adjacent said primary tear lines 32 without limitation.
  • Therein, a length of each said through dot of the primary tear line 32 is larger than a length of each said through dot of the said secondary tear line 33. This facilitates tearing the pad body 3 along the primary tear lines 32 rather than the secondary tear lines 33. Therefore, the primary tear lines 32 are mainly intended for tearing the pad body 3 from the rolled-up scouring pad while the secondary tear lines 33, which has the shorter through dots, are intended for further separating the pad body 3 torn from the rolled-up scouring pads so as to fit different cleaning works.
