Abstract

A carrying case for archery equipment including at least a first airtight compartment with provisions for organizing additional items, wherein the first compartment is suited for clothing, and a second compartment configured to store a changing mat wherein the second compartment further includes at least one distinct compartment configured to store a plurality of scents and lures.

Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/336,003, filed on Jan. 13, 2010, entitled “Bow Case for Archery Equipment and Clothing,” which is fully incorporated herein by reference.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to storage system and more particularly, to storage systems for archery equipment and accessories.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Storage systems, and particularly those configured to store archery equipment, do not have the ability to store, conveniently and in an organized fashion, equipment, clothing, gear, and related accessories in a rugged, easily maneuverable storage device. Moreover, archery equipment and gear tends to give off odors undesirable when attached to clothing and other gear.
Accordingly, there is a need for a rugged archery equipment storage system capable of storing arrows, camo, boots, hats, gloves, calls, releases, scents, lures, treestand equipment and tackle, for example, capable of including a changing mat, and configured to include one or more compartments to lock out odors and keep clothing scent-free.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

One exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a carrying case for archery equipment and hunting gear, the carrying case comprising: a compartment for the bow; a compartment for arrows with or without tips; an airtight compartment with provisions for organization and additional items unrelated, suited for clothing and the like; a compartment that houses a changing mat and also houses a separate compartment for the storage of scents and lures. The carrying case includes a first compartment for receiving a bow and arrows, the compartment including a storage area for the bow; means to secure said bow within said storage area, a storage area for the arrows, a divider between said storage area for the bow and said storage area for the arrows defined by a flap which may be zipped shut, triangular storage compartments positioned near outer corner areas of said storage area for the bow, and a second compartment for receiving and retaining hunting gear.
Preferably, the triangular compartments are removable, being retained in their respective positions near said outer corner areas by hook-and-loop fabric and/or snaps (most preferably, both). The first compartment is on a first side of the carrying case and includes a compartment closure (i.e., a lid or door) manufactured of molded ethylene vinyl acetate with honeycomb and foam reinforcement ; and quilt stitched nylon on cases internal surface. The means to secure the bow in said compartment includes a first male clip on a first strap and a second male clip on a second strap and adjustment means to accommodate bows of varying sizes. Preferably, the straps are permanently secured in position by rivets. The adjustment strip is mad of hypalon and the clip straps are nylon webbing. The hypalon strip is secured at each end by rivets to the compartment closure and has a plurality of die-cut openings therein for receiving said first and second straps which allows for tightly securing a wide variety of commercially available bows.
The second compartment is on a second side of the carrying case, said second side being opposite to said first side. The second compartment includes a sealed, airtight extendable liner for scent-free housing of hunting apparel. The external shell is made of 840d nylon; internal lining is heat taped airtight 210d nylon or the like both backed with polyurethane, or the like. The outer shell functions as support, providing protection and durability feature; inner lining locks out odors. The base of the lining is not sewn to the floor of the case, allowing the lining to be lifted out for scrubbing. The lining has a zippered elastic mesh pocket and a non zippered inner pocket to serve for additional storage. In addition, the lining is colored for contrast and has snappable dividers for additional organization. A rollout changing mat is irremovably secured to a portion of said second compartment. The mat is 2 layers of 210d nylon backed with polyurethane.
The carrying includes a detachable shoulder strap and first means to clip one end of the strap to a first end of the carrying case and second means to clip a second opposing end of the strap to a second opposite end of said carrying case. To provide balance, the first clip is secured to the first side and the second clip to the opposite second side. A padded portion is immovably attached (as by stitching) to the center of the strap. The length of the strap can be adjusted to accommodate the user.
Six feet, three spaced along each side, provide a platform for the case to rest upon when not being carried. Kick plates positioned along the ends near the bottom provide protection for the case's contents. Carrying handles stitched to each side have a gym-bag-type padded wrap for comfort.
Another exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a carrying case for archery equipment and hunting gear, the carrying case includes at least a first airtight compartment with provisions for organization and additional items unrelated, suited for clothing and the like and a second compartment that houses a changing mat and also houses a separate compartment for the storage of scents and lures.
The second compartment is on a second side of the carrying case, said second side being opposite to said first side. The second compartment includes a sealed, airtight extendable liner for scent-free housing of hunting apparel. The external shell is made of 840d nylon; internal 10 lining is heat taped airtight 210d nylon or the like both backed with polyurethane, or the like. The base of the lining is not sewn to the floor of the case, allowing the lining to be lifted out for scrubbing. The lining has a zippered elastic mesh pocket and a non zippered inner pocket to serve for additional storage. In addition, the lining is colored for contrast and has 15 snappable dividers for additional organization. A rollout changing mat is irremovably secured to a portion of said second compartment. The mat is 2 layers of 210d nylon backed with polyurethane.
Six feet, three spaced along each side, provide a platform for the case to rest upon when 25 not being carried. Kick plates positioned along the ends near the bottom provide protection for the case's contents. Carrying handles stitched to each side have a gym-hag-type padded wrap for comfort.
The carrying includes a detachable shoulder strap and first means to clip one end of the strap to a first end of the carrying case and second means to clip a second opposing end of the 20 strap to a second opposite end of said carrying case. To provide balance, the first clip is secured to the first side and the second clip to the opposite second side. A padded portion is immovably attached (as by stitching) to the center of the strap. The length of the strap can be adjusted to accommodate the user.
While the principles of the invention have been described herein, it is to be understood by those skilled in the art that this description is made only by way of example and not as a limitation as to the scope of the invention. Other embodiments are contemplated within the scope of the present invention in addition to the exemplary embodiments shown and described herein. Modifications and substitutions by one of ordinary skill in the art are considered to be within the scope of the present invention, which is not to be limited except by the following claims.

Claims

2. A carrying case for archery equipment and hunting gear, said carrying case comprising:

a) a first compartment for receiving a bow and arrows, said compartment including

i) a storage area for the bow;

ii) means to secure said bow within said storage area;

iii) a storage area for the arrows;

iv) a divider between said storage area for the bow and said storage area for the arrows;

v) triangular storage compartments positioned near outer corner areas of said storage area for the bow;

3. The carrying case of claim 2 wherein said triangular compartments are removable.

4. The carrying case of claim 3 wherein said triangular compartments are retained in positions near said outer corner areas by hook-and-loop fabric and/or snaps.

5. The carrying case of claim 2 wherein said first compartment is on a side of said carrying case.

6. The carrying case of claim 5 wherein said first side of said carrying case includes a compartment closure manufactured of molded ethylene vinyl acetate with a honeycomb reinforcement on an internal surface.

7. The carrying case of claim 6 wherein said means to secure said bow in said compartment includes a first male clip on a first strap and a second female clip on a second strap and adjustment means to accommodate bows of varying sizes.

8. The carrying case of claim 7 wherein said adjustment means comprises a fabric strip secured at each end to said compartment closure having a plurality of die-cut openings therein for receiving said first and second straps.

9. The carrying case of claim 6 wherein said second compartment is on a second side of said carrying case, said second side being opposite to said first side.

10. The carrying case of claim 6 wherein said second compartment includes a sealed, airtight extendable liner for scent-free housing of hunting apparel.

11. The carrying case of claim 10 further comprising a roll-out changing mat which is secured to a portion of said second compartment.

12. The carrying case of claim 2 further comprising a detachable shoulder strap and first means to clip one end of said strap to a first end of said carrying case and second means to clip a second opposing end of said strap to a second opposite end of said carrying case.

13. A carrying case for archery equipment and hunting gear, said carrying case comprising

a) a first compartment for receiving bows and arrows on a first side of said carrying case;

b) a second compartment for retaining hunting gear on a second side of said carrying case, said second compartment including

i) an extendable liner for scent-free housing of hunting apparel;

ii) a rollout changing mat secured to a portion of said second compartment.

14. The carrying case of claim 13 wherein said first compartment comprises a storage area for a bow, said storage area including means to secure said bow in said compartment.

15. The carrying case of claim 14 wherein said means to secure said bow in said compartment includes a first clip on a first strap and a second strip on a second strap and adjustment means to accommodate bows of varying sizes.

16. The carrying case of claim 15 wherein said adjustment means comprises a fabric strip secured at each end to said compartment closure having a plurality of die-cut openings therein for receiving said first and second straps.

17. A carrying case for archery equipment and hunting gear, said carrying case comprising:

a) a first compartment for receiving bows and arrows in said carrying case;

b) a second compartment for retaining hunting gear in said carrying case, said second compartment including a zipper closure extending along a top edge portion of said second compartment, an extendable liner for scent-free housing of hunting apparel, said scent-free housing including an external shell, an internal liner having peripheral edge portions which are secured to said shell throughout their length to form an air-tight seal, said internal liner being free throughout a remainder of its interior portions such that said internal liner may be withdrawn from said external shell.

18. The carrying case of claim 17 further comprising two sets of clips, one adjacent each end portion of said extendable liner to secure said liner and its contents in a rolled up condition.

19. The carrying case of claim 18 wherein said two sets of clips each comprise a first male element on a first strap and a second female element on a second strap, said first and second straps each being adjustable.

The carrying case of claim 17 further comprising first and second strip sets of hook-and-loop fabric secured internally to said extendable liner to facilitate alignment of a first side of said liner with a second side of said liner prior to closure of said zipper securing said scent-free enclosure.
