Thus, when the rocking bars are mounted on the side supports of the chair body respectively, the chair body co-operates with the rocking bars to function as a rocking chair, and when the rocking bars are removed from the side supports of the chair body respectively, the chair body is used individually to function as a common chair, so that the chair has double functions to enhance the versatility of the chair.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a furniture and, more particularly, to a chair or an armchair.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional chair comprises a seat, two side supports mounted on two opposite sides of the seat respectively, and a backrest mounted between the two side supports and located above the seat. However, the conventional chair only has a single function to support a user and cannot function as a rocking chair, thereby limiting the versatility of the conventional chair.
- In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a chair, comprising a chair body having two side supports and two rocking bars each detachably mounted on a bottom of a respective one of the two side supports of the chair body.
- Preferably, each of the side supports of the chair body has two opposite support legs, and each of the two rocking bars is detachably mounted on the support legs of the respective side support.
- Preferably, each of the support legs of each of the side supports has a bottom formed with at least one screw bore, each of the two rocking bars has two opposite ends each formed with at least one through hole, and the chair further comprises a plurality of fastening screws each extending through the through hole of a respective one of the rocking bars and each screwed into the screw bore of each of the support legs of a respective one of the side supports to lock the rocking bars onto the side supports of the chair body respectively.
- Preferably, each of the rocking bars has a substantially arc-shaped profile.
- Preferably, each of the rocking bars has a top provided with two mounting sleeves detachably mounted on the support legs of the respective side support respectively to limit the support legs of the respective side support onto each of the rocking bars.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a chair having double functions.
- According to the primary objective of the present invention, when the rocking bars are mounted on the side supports of the chair body respectively, the chair body co-operates with the rocking bars to function as a rocking chair, and when the rocking bars are removed from the side supports of the chair body respectively, the chair body is used individually to function as a common chair, so that the chair has double functions to enhance the versatility of the chair.
- According to another objective of the present invention, the rocking bars are mounted on and detached from the side supports of the chair body easily and quickly, thereby facilitating detachment and storage of the rocking bars.
- According to a further objective of the present invention, each of the rocking bars has two mounting sleeves detachably mounted on the support legs of the respective side support to limit the support legs of the respective side support onto each of the rocking bars so that each of the rocking bars is secured on the support legs of the respective side support solidly and stably, and each of the rocking bars is integrally combined with the respective side support of the chair body.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a chair in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a partially exploded perspective view of the chair as shown inFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a chair in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a partially exploded perspective view of the chair as shown inFIG. 3 . - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a chair in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises achair body 1 having two side supports 11 and tworocking bars 2 each detachably mounted on a bottom of a respective one of the two side supports 11 of thechair body 1. - Each of the side supports 11 of the
chair body 1 has a substantially inverted U-shaped profile and has twoopposite support legs 110. Each of thesupport legs 110 of each of the side supports 11 has a bottom formed with at least onescrew bore 21. - Each of the two
rocking bars 2 is detachably mounted on thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11. Each of the tworocking bars 2 has a substantially arc-shaped profile and has two opposite ends each formed with at least one throughhole 21. The chair further comprises a plurality of fasteningscrews 3 each extending through the throughhole 21 of a respective one of therocking bars 2 and each screwed into thescrew bore 21 of each of thesupport legs 110 of a respective one of the side supports 11 to lock therocking bars 2 onto the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 respectively. - In practice, when the
rocking bars 2 are mounted on the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 respectively, thechair body 1 co-operates with therocking bars 2 to function as a rocking chair so as to provide a comfortable sensation to the user. Alternatively, when therocking bars 2 are removed from the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 respectively, thechair body 1 is used individually to function as a common chair. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , each of therocking bars 2 has a top provided with twomounting sleeves 22 detachably mounted on thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 respectively to limit thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 onto each of therocking bars 2. Thus, each of therocking bars 2 is secured on thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 solidly and stably so that each of therocking bars 2 is integrally combined with therespective side support 11 of thechair body 1. - Accordingly, when the
rocking bars 2 are mounted on the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 respectively, thechair body 1 co-operates with therocking bars 2 to function as a rocking chair, and when therocking bars 2 are removed from the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 respectively, thechair body 1 is used individually to function as a common chair, so that the chair has double functions to enhance the versatility of the chair. In addition, therocking bars 2 are mounted on and detached from the side supports 11 of thechair body 1 easily and quickly, thereby facilitating detachment and storage of therocking bars 2. Further, each of therocking bars 2 has twomounting sleeves 22 detachably mounted on thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 to limit thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 onto each of therocking bars 2 so that each of therocking bars 2 is secured on thesupport legs 110 of therespective side support 11 solidly and stably, and each of therocking bars 2 is, integrally combined with therespective side support 11 of thechair body 1. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
