Abstract

A Multiple Active Swimwear set is a outfit created for confidence and comfort in a swimsuit. Typically swimsuits feel like undergarments you wear with nothing on top. This particular line is a mockery of an everyday outfit women would typically wear on a summer day. Transformed into an outfit made for swim and water activities. Wearing “regular” clothing atop a swimsuit for cover is a shout of being unconfident in your swim attire. This swim line gives the same “feeling” of wearing a typical full underwire bra, a tank shirt and a short or skirt bottom as women do daily. With that confidence gives women an opportunity to participate in water activity without feeling completely exposed or like they are in their “lingerie” in public. It can be worn as an outfit into public areas without additional cover up and into water activities as well.

Description

  • As defined and I understand it in the USTPO Index this Utility Application complies with the intention of obtaining a patent for a new and useful improvement of existing articles of manufacture . . . .
  • In attempt to fill a gap in the swimwear market, I have created a much desired, currently unavailable option in women's swimwear. I present an ADULT Bathing Suit comprising of THREE INDIVIDUAL PIECES: A full underwire (swim) bra: A tank top; and choice of board short or skort bottom. This particular Bathing Suit differs from current market options because it has THREE individual pieces that combine together, each in its individual size to create one custom fit suit. Having these particular THREE pieces combine for swim use creates a mockery of an everyday NON-SWIM outfit that women would wear (but not into the water.) Thus creating comfort and confidence in swim appropriate attire for such water activities. This custom line lets women combine sizes and colors to create custom looks and fit. These pieces each are made of swim appropriate material and are as follows: A swim BRA comprising of swim material that encases a underwire at bottom edge to support a breast properly, back closure (metal, plastic or suitable material) with adjustable options to function as one would typically wear a non-water bra. A tank top style shirt (or top layer) worn in layered fashion with bra, not attached at all. Made of like swim appropriate material. Chosen in desired size and fit because breast support is not attached. Choice of board short—a swim short with built in panty and pockets, zipper and button closure OR a swim skirt (“skort”) made of appropriate swim material as well with built in panty. Combine size options and colors of THREE pieces to create your own custom suit.
  • CROSS REFEERENCE
  • According to available swimwear, there is NO swim line that offers a three piece adult active swimwear set. This is a unique offering/solution to the way swimwear is typically offered or sold. This is exactly how NON swim wear outfits are configured in a wardrobe. Therefore it is what a female person would like to simulate in a SWIM appropriate ensemble. There are “typical” swimsuits . . . a one piece, a “tankini” or two piece . . . most with some sort of shelf bra or attached breast support offered. Which if it were the way to go, would be how everyday clothes were assembled, and is not, thus making most swimsuit wearers uncomfortable and unconfident. It would be unjust to argue it is available in regular clothing because swimsuits would then be unnecessary. Being there is a market for swimwear vs. everyday clothing shows there is a separate market for swimwear pieces that imitate an everyday outfit. There have been many attempted swimsuit versions that get pretty complicated in many different ways to solve women's physical issues. There aren't any yet simple enough to mock what women are already comfortable in . . . .
  • BACKGROUND
  • As stated above, having no practical yet trendy options for swimwear myself, I decided to create a new and innovative solution to an ongoing existing female problem. Research through my years of working directly with women in a service business confirmed for me that many women felt the same way about their swim options and lack of availability. Most women are accustomed to wearing a three piece ensemble. To have one for water use makes perfect sense and has not, until now, been an option or available. Traditionally swimwear has not been comfortable or flattering for anyone above a size 8 . . . . I have only been able to find several varieties of swimwear . . . all consisting of no support or some sort of ATTACHED bra lining, possibly even semi attached bra-like support. I believe this combination and use of bathing suit parts creates a better reflection to what women wear on a regular basis. Women are accustomed to wearing a BRA, a TOP and a BOTTOM. Most are uncomfortable leaving any one of those absent from their wardrobe. Thus when wearing a bathing suit with a built in apparatus, it creates unnatural shape to conform to the swimsuit. A “uni-boob” it is referred to most of the time. It may flatten one's top section or be so tight to hold up larger breasts creating unwanted rolls and tightness on the belly area. When wearing a three piece active swimwear set one would feel and look exactly like they would in a normal everyday summer outfit. I believe this outfit absolutely functions and feels BETTER than any other option on the market right now. This option allows women to display true shapes and mix and match sizing to flatter each persons individual bodies. From market research and my own experiences shopping, this is not and has not been available in this combination and suggested fashion as a “swim set” up until it's creation by Real Girl Swimwear/alca/Cristine Farrer. There are many types of swimsuits out there and people do some crazy things with them, none of which cover these options and create this comfort and confidence in wearing a swimsuit! This line covers sizes from a size 0 through plus size wear.
