Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a heating pad having a hollow case filled with heating liquid to provide a temperature keeping effect after the heating liquid being heated.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • A conventional heating pad is used to provide a heat keeping effect for people or animals, and is made by a sealed soft plastic bag filled with heating liquid. The conventional heating pad may be heated by a microwave oven or soaked in the hot water, and make the heating liquid gaining and keeping the heat energy. For comfortable reason, the plastic bag is soft and has a changeable shape for fitting with different using conditions, such as being put on the head, the abdomen or the knee of a user.
  • However, the plastic bag of the conventional heating pad is distended after filling the heating liquid, and may easily be broken due to the pressure or being twist, or be pierced by claws or canine teeth of animals. Consequently, the heating liquid is leaked out and the heating pad loses the capability of heat keeping.
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide a heating pad to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main objective of the present invention is to provide a heating pad having a hollow case filled with heating liquid to be heated and provide a heat keeping effect.
  • The heating pad has a case, a plug and heating liquid. The case is hollow, made by injection molding, and has a space, an opening and a loading surface. The space is formed in the case. The opening is formed in the case, and communicates with the space. The loading surface is flat, and formed on the case. The plug is detachable mounted tightly on the opening of the case. The heating liquid is held in the space of the case to be heated and provide a heat keeping effect.
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a heating pad in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a partially exploded perspective view of the heating pad in FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3 is a side view in partial section of the heating pad in FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a second embodiment of a heating pad in accordance with the present invention; and
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a third embodiment of a heating pad in accordance with the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, a first embodiment of a heating pad in accordance with the present invention has case (10), a plug (13) and heating liquid (20). The case (10) is made by injection molding, made of plastic material such as PE, HDPE or PP, and formed as a single element. The case (10) provides sufficient hardness to support a weight of babies or animals and sufficient strength to prevent a broken accident due to pressure, twisting force or claws or canine teeth of animals.
  • The case (10) is hollow and oblate, and has a surface, a space (11), an annular flange, an opening (12), two sides, two loading surfaces and two recesses. The case (10) has a rough surface to form patterns and parallel lines on the surface and is made by injection molding. The space (11) is formed in the case (10). The annular flange is formed around and protrudes from the periphery of the case (10). The opening (12) is formed through the annular flange and communicates with the space (11) of the case (10). The loading surfaces are respectively formed on the opposite sides of the case (10), and each has a flat area to provide a lying place for babies or animals. The recesses are respectively formed in the loading surfaces of the case (10) for sticking stickers thereon, and may be shaped in rectangular or elliptic.
  • The plug (13) is cylindrical, and detachable mounted tightly on the opening (12) of the case (10), and has a plugging tube (130) and a plugging cap (131). The plugging tube (130) is inserted into the opening (12) of the case (12) and has an outer diameter and a distal end extending out from the opening (12). The plugging cap (131) is formed on the distal end of the plugging tube (130), closes the opening (12) of the case (10), and has a diameter larger than the outer diameter of the plugging tube (130).
  • The heating liquid (20) is mounted in the space (11) of the case (10) to absorb and keep heating energy and provide a warming effect. The heating liquid (20) may be made of synthetic plastic. When the heating liquid (20) lose the effect of keeping heating energy, the plug (13) can be released, and the heating liquid (20) may be renewed to refresh the heat keeping effect.
  • In use, the heating pad is heated by a microwave oven about six minutes to make the temperature of the heating liquid (20) in the case (10) rising for providing a warming effect about ten to twelve hours.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, a second embodiment of the heating pad in accordance with the present invention has a different structure from that of the first embodiment in the case (10A). The case (10A) is cuboid, and has a bottom, a top, four corners, a looped pattern and a recess. The shape of the case (10) is tapered from the bottom to the top. The loading surface is defined in the top of the case (10A). Each corner is formed as a curved and smooth surface. The looped pattern is formed in the loading surface of the case (10), and may be multiple rectangular loops. The recess is formed in the loading surface of the case (10A).
  • With reference to FIG. 5, a third embodiment of the heating pad in accordance with the present invention has a different structure from that of the first embodiment in the case (10B). The case (10B) is elliptic.
  • The case (10, 10A, 10B) is hollow, and provides sufficient strength to prevent a broken accident due to pressure, twisting force or claws or canine teeth of animals. The heating liquid (20) is filled in the case (10) fully and safely and may be reused. The loading surface of the case (10, 10A, 10B) supports the weight from the baby or animal, and provides a heating area and warming effect thereto.
  • Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
