2 Claims.

This invention relates to hair removers, and particularly to a device adapted for gently removing superfluous and undesirable hairy growths from A the human body.

One object of `the present invention is to provide a device which, when lightly applied, will gently and effectually remove hairfrorn the body without irritation to the skin.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the character described which may readily adjust itself to the various curvatures of the body in order to eiliciently remove any hair therefrom.

Another object of the invention is to provide a hair remover that is harmless to the body of the user, and which is easy and convenient to manipulate.

A. further object of the invention is to provide a device of its kind which may be readily' controlled in the hands of a user, which is eiilcient in its operation, and cheap to manufacture.

A still further object of theinvention is to improve devices of the character described in sundrydetails hereinafter referred to and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

'One embodiment of the present invention is shown for illustrative purposes in the accompanying drawing in which Fig. l is a fragmentary view of a portion of the human body, and'illustrates the use of our improved hair remover as applied thereto;

Fig. 2 is a face view of the improved hair remover illustrated in Fig. 1;

Fig. 3 is an end view of the structure shown in Figs. land 2;

Fig. 4 is an end-view of the improved hair remover showing portions thereof separated to form a loop for receiving the hand of the user; and

Fig. 5 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view taken substantially as indicated by the line 5 5 of Fig. 2, and illustrating the preferred means of securing portions of the device together.

v The illustrative embodiment` of the present invention comprises preferably a plurality or pair of sheets 6 and 1 of flexible material, preferably of felt, or the like, and preferably of substantially rectangular form anduniform size. 'I'hese sheets,

, as shown in the present instance, are secured together by lines of stitches 8 'extending along op posite longitudinal edges of the sheets adjacent the central portion of the edges, thereby leaving the opposite end portions of the longitudinal edges and the transverse edges of the sheets free or disconnected from each other, the sheets 8 and 'I being separable at portions between the lines of stitches l, as clearly shown in Fig. 4, for receiving the hand or fingers of the user as illustrated in Fig. 1.

It will be observed that by such an arrangement,`the hand of the user may be inserted at either end of the device as may be found convenient or desirable.

Secured to the outer face of one orthe other of the'sheets 6 or l, preferably by an adhesive or other suitable means, is a flexible sheet 9, preferably substantially co-extensive in size with the sheets S'and 1, and having a very fine grade of abrasive such, for example, as emery, or the like, secured to its outer surface, a suitable grade of ne emery cloth or paper being well adapted for this particular purpose.

In applying the abrading surface of the sheet 9 to the body, the user may insert the ngers between the sheets 6 and 1 and preferably by a rotary movement, under slight pressure, may remove from the body superfluous or undesirable growths of hair without injury or irritation to the skin, and it will be observed that by reason of theflexibility of the sheets 6, l and 9, the device, when applied to the body, may readily adjust itself to the various curvatures thereof in order to eiliciently remove any hairy growths therefrom.

Obviously, the present invention is not limited to the precise construction and arrangement shown and described as the same may be variously modified without departing from the spirit and scopeofthe invention as set forth in the appended claims.

What we claim as new and desire to secure by I Letters Patent is:

1. An article of the class described comprising aplurality of substantially rectangular sheets of felt material secured together along opposite longitudinaledges of the sheets adjacent the central vportions of the longitutinal edges, the opposite ond portions vof said vedges and the transverse edgesof said sheets being disconnected, a sheet of flexible material Secured to the outer side of one of said sheets-of felt material, and a ne abrasive on the out-er surface of said sheet of flexible material.
