Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a football game play table, and more particularly to a football game play table having a table function.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • Nowadays, people have less and less time to exercise because of increasing working pressure. Traditional forms of exercise are subject to sports facilities, location, space and the weather (such as wind, rain, snow). It is not easy for people to have body-building continuously. There are many game tables on the market for imitating ball games, such as a football game machine which is designed by simulating a foot field. The players maneuver figurines provided on control rods to play football through rotation and movement of the control rods so as to achieve an entertainment effect. A conventional football game play table only provides a function to play football game, which is not easy to be popularized due to the limitations of location and the size of the football game play table.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide a dual-purpose game play table, which is able to be used as a table while playing a football game to save the space and overcome the disadvantages existed in the prior art.
  • According to the present invention, there is provided a dual-purpose football game play table, comprising a body and a plurality of control rods, each of the plurality of control rods being provided with figurines for playing a football game along with the movement of the control rods, the body having a face board, a stop board surrounding the face board, and an open chamber defined between the stop board and the face board, the plurality of control rods penetrating through two opposing side portions of the stop board, the figurines being disposed in the open chamber, wherein a transparent plate is provided on an upper edge of the stop board for covering the open chamber. Alternatively, the dual-purpose football game play table further comprises a table top mounted on an upper edge of the stop board, the table top being formed with an opening corresponding in size to the open chamber, the transparent plate being mounted on the table top for covering the opening of the table top.
  • Preferably, the transparent plate is a glass plate.
  • Preferably, the stop board is composed of a pair of longitudinal walls and a pair of transverse walls, each of the pair of transverse walls being formed with a goal mouth, the control rods being telescopic rods each comprising a hollow iron pipe provided with the figurines and an iron core inserted in the hollow iron pipe, the iron core being transversely fixed between the pair of longitudinal walls for the hollow iron pipe to extend or retract with respect to the iron core.
  • Preferably, the pair of longitudinal walls is provided with resilient glue strips at a lower portion thereof.
  • Preferably, the body comprises a partition under the face board, the partition being formed with recesses at two ends thereof, between the recesses and the body being a space for accommodating a chair therein.
  • The advantage of the present invention is that the transparent plate is used to cover the open chamber directly or indirectly so that the players are able to watch the game through the transparent plate, and the body is able to be used as a table, such as a desk or a coffee table, providing a dual-purpose object. This design is nimble and convenient in use, saves space effectively, and is pleasing in appearance.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 through 5, a football game play table according to a first preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a body 1 and a plurality of control rods 2. In this embodiment, the body 1 is shaped into a coffee table. Each of the plurality of control rods 2 is provided with figurines 3 for playing a football game along with the movement of the control rods 2. The body 1 has a face board 11, a stop board 12 surrounding the face board 11, and an open chamber 13 defined between the stop board 12 and the face board 11. The plurality of control rods 2 penetrate through two opposing side portions of the stop board 12. The figurines 3 are disposed in the open chamber 13.
  • The present invention further comprises a table top 4 and a transparent plate 5. The transparent plate 5 may be a glass plate. The table top 4 is mounted on an upper edge of the stop board 12. The table top 4 is formed with an opening 41 corresponding in size to the open chamber 13. The transparent plate 5 is mounted on the table top 4 for covering the opening 41 of the table top 4 such that the players are able to watch the football game in the open chamber 13 through the transparent plate 5. Besides, the transparent plate 5 is adapted to be a table for providing a dual-purpose effect.
  • The stop board 12 is composed of a pair of longitudinal walls 121 and a pair of transverse walls 122. Each of the pair of transverse walls 122 is formed with a goal mouth 123. The control rods 2 are telescopic rods each comprising a hollow iron pipe 21 provided with the figurines 3 and an iron core 22 inserted in the hollow iron pipe 21. The iron core 22 is transversely fixed between the pair of longitudinal walls 121. The hollow iron pipe 22 is able to extend or retract with respect to the iron core 22 such that the players operate the control rods 2 smoothly by pulling and pushing the hollow iron pipes 21 to slide on the iron core 22. Particularly, the telescopic rods won't protrude outside the stop board 12. This provides more safety than the prior art for playing the football game. In addition, the telescopic rods are short in configuration to save occupied space. The pair of longitudinal walls 121 is provided with resilient glue strips 124 at a lower portion thereof for the ball to rebound off the walls, preventing the balls from being at the position of dead sector formed between the longitudinal walls and the face board.
  • As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, a second preferred embodiment of the present invention is substantially similar to the first preferred embodiment with the exceptions described hereinafter. In this embodiment, the body 1 is shaped into a coffee table. The transparent plate 5 is adapted to cover the table top 4 entirely, not only the opening 41 of the table top 4. The body 1, the control rods 2 and the figurines 3 are the same as those in the first preferred embodiment.
  • As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, a third preferred embodiment of the present invention is substantially similar to the first preferred embodiment with the exceptions described hereinafter. In this embodiment, the body 1 is shaped into a coffee table, and comprises a partition 14 under the face board 11. The partition 14 is formed with recesses 141 at two ends thereof. Between the recesses 141 and the body 1 is a space 142 for accommodating a chair 6 therein. When in use, the chair 6 is pulled out from the space 142. When not in use, the chair 6 is stored in the space 142 so as to save the space occupied by the chair 6. This is very convenient for use. The body 1, the control rods 2 and the figurines 3, the table top 4 and the transparent plate 5 are the same as those in the first preferred embodiment.
  • As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, a fourth preferred embodiment of the present invention is substantially similar to the aforesaid preferred embodiments with the exceptions described hereinafter. In this embodiment, the body 1 doesn't have the table top. The transparent plate 5 is mounted on the upper edge of the stop board 12. This design also provides the same effects of the aforesaid embodiments.
  • FIG. 12 is a fifth preferred embodiment of the present invention. The body 1 is shaped into a desk or a tea table. The transparent plate 5 is used to cover the opening of the table top 4. FIG. 13 is a sixth preferred embodiment of the present invention. The body 1 is also shaped into a desk or a tea table. The transparent plate 5 is used to cover the table top 4 entirely.
  • The feature of the present invention is that the transparent plate is used to cover the open chamber directly or indirectly so that the players are able to watch the game through the transparent plate, and the body is able to be used as a table, such as a desk or a coffee table, providing a dual-purpose object. This design is nimble and convenient in use, saves space effectively, and is pleasing in appearance.
  • Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
