Abstract

A quick buckle assembly for a metal case cover particularly serves to quickly position and fasten a lateral plate or a case cover with respect to a case of a personal computer or a computer server. The quick buckle assembly has a buckle, having flexible wings formed at one or two ends, wherein each of the wings is provided with a fastening hook at a rear surface for rapidly coupling with positioning holes at the case and the case cover and thereby positioning and fastening the case cover with respect to the case.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Technical Field
  • The present invention relates to a quick buckle assembly for a metal case cover, which comprises a buckle having one or two ends formed with flexible wings that have fastening hooks at the rear surfaces for coupling with positioning holes at the case cover and a case, so as to rapidly combine the case cover with the case.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Typically, in personal computers, industrial computers, servers, and electrical cabinets, casings are substantially metal cases composed of metal boards and having case covers for achieving stability, safety, electromagnetic shelter, easy expansion, and convenient disassembly.
  • While the case cover needs to be assembled to and disassembled from such a metal case or casing frequently, the fastening means can generally be realized by means of screw fastening, metal buckle fastening and key locking. Screw fastening involves screwing a bolt through threaded holes on a case and a case cover. Metal buckle fastening involves providing matching metal buckling mechanisms at a case and a case cover. Key locking similarly involves providing a case and a case cover with matching lock mechanisms so that the case cover can be assembled to, and disassembled from, the case by operating the lock mechanisms with a key.
  • However, in all above approaches for fastening a case cover to a case, some common defects exist, such as the need for external tools, the structural complexity of buckle and consumption of internal space of the case. Hence, the conventional approaches for fastening the case covers need to be improved.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the aforementioned problems of the conventional devices, the inventor of the present invention herein provides a quick buckle assembly for a metal case cover, which serves to quickly position and fasten a lateral plate or a case cover with respect to a case of a personal computer or a computer server.
  • The present invention implements a buckle as the primary component for quickly fastening a case cover to a case, wherein the buckle has a rear surface formed with a positioning flange at a center, and has one or two ends formed with a flexible wing having a fastening hook at a rear surface, so that the fastening hook can couple with positioning holes at the case and the case cover to combine the case and the case cover without a need for external tools and a consumption of space.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The invention, as well as a preferred mode of use, further objectives and advantages, will best be understood by referring to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is an oblique front elevation of a buckle of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a rear elevation of the buckle of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the buckle of the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a schematic drawing showing a case cover combined with the buckle to be assembled to a case according to one embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 5 is a schematic drawing showing the case cover combined with the buckle assembled to the case according to the embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 6 is a schematic drawing showing a case cover combined with the buckle assembled to a case in another embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 7 is a schematic drawing showing a case cover combined with the buckle assembled to a case in another embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 8 is an oblique front elevation of a buckle having only one wing according to the present invention; and
  • FIG. 9 is a schematic drawing showing a case cover combined with the buckle having the single wing assembled to a case.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Please refer to FIGS. 1 through 3. The disclosed quick buckle assembly for a metal case cover primarily comprises a buckle 1 as a main component. The buckle 1 is made of a flexible material, such as plastic, through an injection process. The buckle 1 has a central segment 11 and wings 12, 13 formed at one or two ends. Two grooves 111, 112 are formed at two borders of the central segment 11 while the wings 12, 13 are flexible and bendable.
  • The central segment 11 of the buckle 1 has an elliptical flange 113 formed at a rear surface, while each of the wings 12, 13 has an elastic fastening block 121 or 131 formed at a rear surface.
  • A case cover 2, provided to be used with the buckle 1 of the present invention, has a slot 21 positionally corresponding to the elliptical flange 113 and through holes 22, 23 positionally corresponding to the elastic fastening blocks 121, 131 so that when the buckle 1, having the elliptical flange 113 received by the slot 21, and then being rotated, the buckle 1 can be fastened to the case cover 2 and then the elastic fastening blocks 121, 131 can in turn pierce into the through holes 22, 23.
  • A case 3, provided to be used with the buckle 1 of the present invention, has a through hole 31 positionally corresponding to the elliptical flange 113 and coupling holes 32, 33 positionally corresponding to the elastic fastening blocks 121, 131.
  • With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, when the case cover 2 is to be assembled to the case 3, the case cover 2 combined with the buckle 1 is placed aside the case 3, and then the wings 12, 13 of the buckle 1 have their elastic fastening blocks 121, 131 aligned and coupled with the coupling holes 32, 33, so that the cover 2 can be fixedly positioned with respect to the case 3.
  • When the case cover 2 is to be disassembled from the case 3, the wings 12, 13 can be reversely bent so that the case cover 2 can be taken apart from the case 3. FIGS. 6 and 7 further illustrate the disclosed subject matter applied to alternative types of cases.
  • In FIGS. 8 and 9, it is disclosed that the buckle 1 of the present invention may alternatively have only one said wing 12.
  • In summation, the disclosed subject matter of the present invention allows the case cover 2 to be detachably assembled to the case 3 by the buckle 1 with enhanced convenience.
