Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 61/146,809 filed on Jan. 23, 2009, the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference.
- The present disclosure generally relates to exercising devices, and, more particularly to an exercising device which may be conveniently assembled to perform multiple exercises.
- In today's fitness conscious world, individuals exercise on a routine basis to stay fit and healthy. For example, the individuals may perform various exercises, such as sit-ups, push-ups, jogging, and weight-lifting, to stay fit and healthy.
- Further, with growing craze of power sports, many individuals like to work out with punching bags, speed bags, and pull-up bars. However, the individuals may hesitate to install such exercising accessories in their homes. One reason for hesitation may be that the installation of such exercising accessories may require drilling into a ceiling or walls of their homes. Further, once the exercising accessories are installed they become immovable and consume substantial space in the homes. Therefore, most of the individuals prefer to use the exercising accessories at gyms. This may not always be convenient because the individuals may only use the exercising accessories when the gym is open. Further, those individuals who often travel for work or pleasure may also be limited to working out only with the exercising accessories available at the gym.
- One embodiment of an exercising device may include a pair of base members adapted to be placed on a surface in a spaced apart relation to each other. The exercising device may also include a pair of side bars. Each side bar of the pair of side bars is vertically supported by respective base member of the pair of base members. Further, the exercising device may include a cross-bar horizontally supported by the pair of side bars at a distance away from the pair of base members, to configure an assembled state of the exercising device. The assembled state of the exercising device may facilitate in performing multiple exercises. The pair of base members may be adapted to removably engage with each other. Moreover, the pair of base members may be adapted to receive the pair of side bars and the cross-bar to configure a folded state of the exercising device.
- The advantages and features of the present disclosure will become better understood with reference to the following detailed description and claims taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing, in which:
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of one embodiment of an exercising device; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the exercising device ofFIG. 1 in an assembled state; -
FIGS. 3-5 are various ways in which the exercising device ofFIG. 2 may be utilized for performing multiple exercises; and -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the exercising device ofFIG. 1 in a folded state. - Like reference numerals refer to like parts throughout the description of several views of the drawings.
- The exemplary embodiments described herein are detailed for illustrative purposes, but are subject to many variations in structure and design. It should be emphasized, therefore, that the present disclosure is not limited to a particular exercising device as shown and described. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but these are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present disclosure. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.
- The terms, “first,” “second,” and the like, herein do not denote any order, elevation or importance, but rather are used to distinguish one element with another. Further, the terms “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.
- The present disclosure may provide an exercising device which may be conveniently assembled to perform multiple exercises. Specifically, the exercising device may be used for performing pull-ups and may be utilized to workout with punching bags and speed bags. Further, the exercising device of the present disclosure may be easily foldable to be conveniently carried by a user from one place to another.
