- 2. Description of Related Art
- Portable electronic devices, such as digital photo frames, become considerably necessary to many people. Users usually use a protective device to protecting those portable electronic devices, especially, during travel. However, when users want to use the portable electronic device, they need to take the portable electronic device out from the protective device, then support the portable electronic device with supporting apparatus thereof or additional supporting device, accordingly, it is inconvenient and tedious for the users. Therefore, what is needed is a protective device to solve the above-mentioned problem.
- The components of the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of a protective device. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout several views.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a protective device in accordance with an exemplary embodiment. -
FIG. 2 is another perspective view of the protective device ofFIG. 1 , showing from a reverse angle. -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the protective device ofFIG. 1 with a cover opened. -
FIG. 4 is a left side view of the protective device shown inFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the protective device ofFIG. 1 while supporting an electronic device. -
FIGS. 1 and 2 showing aprotective device 100 in accordance with an exemplary embodiment. The protective device includes acover 22, abody 24, and alatch assembly 28. Thecover 22 is pivotally fixed on thebody 24; thelatch assembly 28 is configured to lock thecover 22 with thebody 24. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , thecover 22 includes afirst plate 221 and asecond plate 225. Thefirst plate 221 is pivotally connected to thebody 22, thesecond plate 225 is pivotally connected to thefirst plate 221, wherein thesecond plate 225 and thebody 24 are connected to thefirst plate 221 at opposite ends. Thesecond plate 225 includes two L-shaped andangled clips 227 mounted on a surface of the second plate 25 facing thebody 24 at two corners opposite to thefirst plate 221, two receivinggrooves 229 are formed between the twoclips 227 and the surface of thesecond plate 225. Thereceiving grooves 229 are configured for holding an electronic device 30 (referring toFIG. 5 ). Thecover 22 further includesstopper portions 223 on rims thereof. - The
body 24 includes areceiving space 246 encased by foursidewalls 244 and abase wall 242 for receiving theelectronic device 30. Thereceiving space 246 are set according to the shape and the size of the electronic device that is protected by theprotective device 30, that is, varying receiving spaces may by set for different protective devices. Referring toFIG. 5 , thereceiving space 246 is rectangular for protecting theelectronic device 30 having a rectangular shape. Furthermore, thesidewalls 244 definesteps 248 corresponding to thestopper portions 223 of thecover 22. When thecover 22 is closed to thebody 24, thesteps 248 engage with thestopper portions 223 and support thecover 22. - Referring to
