Definitions
- the present invention includes a first invention and a second invention, the first invention relating to a novel lateral pin for use with lateral pin type fixture for working machine bucket that, even when used for a long period of time, will not generate rust in the critical portions thereof; especially, allows the pin removal to be made simply and easily; and eliminates the need for making a hazardous hammering operation, thereby being capable of securing the operator's safety, and the second invention relating to a novel lateral pin type tooth point structure for working machine bucket that, even when used for a long period of time, will not generate rust in the critical portions of a lateral pin, i.e., an internal thread part provided for the lateral pin and an external thread part tightened thereto in the state of being screw-fastened; yet allows the pertinent lateral pin to be removed simply and easily; and eliminates the need for making a hazardous hammering operation in removing the pertinent lateral pin as is required with the prior art, thereby being capable of securing the operator's safety.
- the first invention
- the rear parts of a plurality of tooth points are fitted to a plurality of (for example, four or five) adapters disposed in a row, being equally spaced, on the ground excavation edge part side of the bucket, respectively, a lateral pin being fitted into the respective lateral holes penetrating through the adapter and the pertinent tooth point, thereby the tooth point being fixedly installed to the adapter so as to be removable.
- a lateral pin being fitted into the respective lateral holes penetrating through the adapter and the pertinent tooth point, thereby the tooth point being fixedly installed to the adapter so as to be removable.
- a loading projected portion 22 a of an adapter 22 disposed on the ground excavation edge part side of a working machine bucket 21 is fitted into a receiving recessed portion 25 provided in a tooth point 24 , and a lateral pin 26 is driven in with a hammer, or the like, such that it is substantially penetrated through a lateral hole provided in the loading projected portion 22 a, and lateral holes provided in the side walls of the receiving recessed portion 25 , whereby these adapter 22 and tooth point 24 are fixedly installed as if they were an integral part.

Description
- With various buckets for use by mounting to a working machine, such as a power shovel, a shovel loader, or the like, the rear parts of a plurality of tooth points are fitted to a plurality of (for example, four or five) adapters disposed in a row, being equally spaced, on the ground excavation edge part side of the bucket, respectively, a lateral pin being fitted into the respective lateral holes penetrating through the adapter and the pertinent tooth point, thereby the tooth point being fixedly installed to the adapter so as to be removable.
- The configuration and the use state of such a conventional type of lateral pin will be outlined with reference to
FIG. 5 toFIG. 9 . - In first and second examples of prior art as shown in
FIG. 5 toFIG. 9 , a loading projectedportion 22 a of anadapter 22 disposed on the ground excavation edge part side of a workingmachine bucket 21 is fitted into a receivingrecessed portion 25 provided in atooth point 24, and alateral pin 26 is driven in with a hammer, or the like, such that it is substantially penetrated through a lateral hole provided in the loading projectedportion 22 a, and lateral holes provided in the side walls of the receivingrecessed portion 25, whereby theseadapter 22 andtooth point 24 are fixedly installed as if they were an integral part. - As the
lateral pin 26, a lateral pin as shown inFIG. 6 andFIG. 7 is used which has aspring washer part 28 which is butted against the lateral hole internal wall of theadapter 22 for prevention of dropping off, being accommodated in asmaller diameter part 27 a provided in the central portion along the lengthwise direction of apin body 27 having a diameter slightly smaller than that of the lateral hole. - The outside diameter of this
spring washer part 28 is larger than the inside diameter of the lateral hole in theadapter 22, and at the time of fitting into the lateral hole, the spring function causes the outside diameter of thespring washer part 28 to be equal to the lateral hole. Then when thelateral pin 26 is completely driven in, thespring washer part 28 is butted against the lateral hole internal wall of theadapter 22 in the course of returning to the original dimension. Thus, thelateral pin 26 provides a dropping-off prevention capability. - In a second example of prior art as shown in
FIG. 8 andFIG. 9 , the loading projected portion of anadapter 22 disposed on the ground excavation edge part side of aworking machine bucket 21 is fitted into a receivingrecessed portion 25 provided in atooth point 24, and alateral pin 31 is driven in with a hammer, or the like, from the outside of a lateral hole provided on one side of thetooth point 24 such that it is substantially penetrated through a lateral hole provided in the loading projected portion, and lateral holes provided in the side walls of the receiving recessedportion 25. - In this case, a
retainer 32 disposed at the outside of the end of a lateral hole provided in theadapter 22 that is on the other side of thetooth point 24 is engaged with apin groove 31 a provided in the vicinity of the end of thelateral pin 31, whereby theseadapter 22 andtooth point 24 are fixedly installed to each other as if they were an integral part, and thelateral pin 31 is prevented from dropping-off. - As shown in
FIG. 9 , theretainer 32 is comprised of acylindrical element 33 which is attached to the lateral hole in theadapter 22, and aspring washer 34 of a split type attached to thiscylindrical element 33, the inside diameter of thespring washer 34 being made smaller than the outside diameter of thelateral pin 31, and being expanded by the spring function at the time of the lateral pin being driven in, which is followed by the inside diameter part of thespring washer 34 being engaged with thepin groove 31 a provided in the vicinity of the end of thelateral pin 31 for preventing it from dropping off. - However, in the case of the above-described first example of prior art, repetition of the actual operation outdoors has caused the
spring washer part 28 to generate rust, which has often resulted in increased adhesion of theadapter 22 to the internal wall of the lateral hole to make it extremely difficult to extract thelateral pin 26. - In addition, in the case of the above-described second example of prior art, no adequate tool for extracting the
lateral pin 31 from theretainer 32 has been available, which has often made it extremely difficult to extract thelateral pin 31. - Further, in the case of either of the first and second examples of prior art, driving-in and extraction operations with the use of a hammer are mandatory, and those operations are extremely hazardous, because they have led to such an accident as that of one hand of an operator holding a lateral pin extraction tool having been wrongly struck, resulting in a serious injury being caused.
-
