Abstract
A combination cabinet includes a main body, a plurality of bottom boards, a plurality of back boards, a resting board, a top board, and a connecting seat. The main body includes two upright side boards, a plurality of sliding boards, and a plurality of front boards. Thus, the main body is folded to have a flat shape and all parts of the combination cabinet are folded and detached before assembly, so that the combination cabinet has a smaller volume, thereby facilitating packaging, storage and transportation of the combination cabinet. In addition, the combination cabinet is assembled and disassembled easily and quickly without needing aid of any hand tool, thereby facilitating a user assembling and disassembling the combination cabinet.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a cabinet and, more particularly, to a combination cabinet.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional cabinet comprises a cabinet body, and a plurality of drawers movably mounted in the cabinet body to receive articles. However, the cabinet has a fixed construction and cannot be detached so that the cabinet occupies a larger volume, thereby greatly causing inconvenience to a user in packaging, storage and transportation of the cabinet. In addition, the cabinet cannot be assembled and disassembled easily and quickly, thereby increasing the costs of fabrication. Further, the cabinet is assembled and disassembled by aid of a hand tool, such as a screwdriver thereby causing inconvenience when assembling and disassembling the cabinet.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a collapsible combination cabinet that is folded before assembly.
- Another objective of the present invention is to provide a combination cabinet, wherein the main body is folded to have a flat shape and all parts of the combination cabinet are folded and detached before assembly, so that the combination cabinet has a smaller volume, thereby facilitating packaging, storage and transportation of the combination cabinet.
- A further objective of the present invention is to provide a combination cabinet, wherein the combination cabinet is assembled and disassembled easily and quickly without needing aid of any hand tool, thereby facilitating a user assembling and disassembling the combination cabinet.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 and 2 , a collapsible combination cabinet 1 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises amain body 10, a plurality ofbottom boards 20, a plurality ofback boards 30, a resting board 50) atop board 60, and a connectingseat 40. - The
main body 10 includes twoupright side boards 11 each provided with a plurality of transversely arrangedguide rails 14, a plurality of slidingboards 16 each slidably mounted on arespective guide rail 14 of each of theside boards 11, and a plurality offront boards 18 each having two opposite ends each of which is pivotally mounted on a first end of a respective slidingboard 16 to move with the respective slidingboard 16 and is rested on a first end of arespective side board 11. Each of thebottom boards 20 is detachably mounted between a respectivefront board 18 of themain body 10 and two respectivesliding boards 16 of themain body 10. Each of theback boards 30 has two opposite ends each mounted on a second end of a respective slidingboard 16 of themain body 10 to move with the respective slidingboard 16 of themain body 10. The restingboard 50 has two opposite ends each detachably mounted on a second end of arespective side board 11 of themain body 10. Thetop board 60 is mounted on a top of themain body 10 and rested on an upper end of theresting board 50. The connectingseat 40 is mounted on a bottom of themain body 10 and rested on a lower end of theresting board 50. - The
side boards 11 of themain body 10 are fixed by thetop board 60 and the connectingseat 40. Each of theside boards 11 of themain body 10 has a top rested on thetop board 60 and formed with a plurality ofpositioning ribs 12 and a bottom rested on the connectingseat 40 and formed with aprotruding support stud 15 having alimit hole 150. The second end of each of theside boards 11 is formed with an axially extendingelongated guide channel 13 perpendicular to theguide rails 14, and each of the two opposite ends of theresting board 50 is slidably inserted into theguide channel 13 of arespective side board 11. - The
sliding boards 16 of themain body 10 are located in and encompassed by theside boards 11. Each of thesliding boards 16 of themain body 10 has an outer side formed with an axially extendingelongated slideway 161 slidable on therespective guide rail 14 of each of theside boards 11 and an inner side formed with an axially extendingelongated guide slot 163 to allow insertion of arespective bottom board 20. The first end of each of thesliding boards 16 is pivotally mounted on the respectivefront board 18 by at least onehinge 17. The second end of each of thesliding boards 16 has an end face formed with two spacedlimit posts 162. - Each of the
front boards 18 of themain body 10 is located between theside boards 11 and has a lower end formed with an axially extendingelongated limit slot 182 to allow insertion of arespective bottom board 20 and an upper end formed with anopening 181 to facilitate a user holding each of thefront boards 18 of themain body 10. Each of the two opposite ends of each of thefront boards 18 is formed with arecessed stop portion 183 to stop movement of the first end of the respective side board 111 and the first end of the respective slidingboard 16 when therespective side board 11 is perpendicular to each of thefront boards 18. - Each of the
back boards 30 is rested on arespective bottom board 20 so that each of theback boards 30, two respectivesliding boards 16 of themain body 10, the respectivefront board 18 of themain body 10 and therespective bottom board 20 form arectangular box 70 which functions as a drawer. Each of theback boards 30 has a lower end formed with an axially extendingelongated retaining slot 33 to allow insertion of arespective bottom board 20. Each of the two opposite ends of each of theback boards 30 is formed with two spacedlimit holes 31 to allow insertion of thelimit posts 162 of the respective slidingboard 16 to position each of theback boards 30 onto the respectivesliding boards 16. Each of the two opposite ends of each of theback boards 30 has an end face formed with aslideway 32 located between thelimit holes 31 and slidable on therespective guide rail 14 of each of theside boards 11. - The
resting board 50 is located between theside boards 11 of themain body 10, thetop board 60 and the connectingseat 40 so that thetop board 60, theside boards 11 of themain body 10 and theresting board 50 form a hollow rectangular structure to enclose each of therectangular boxes 70. - The
top board 60 has a bottom formed with a plurality ofpositioning holes 61 to allow insertion of thepositioning ribs 12 of theside boards 11 to position thetop board 60 onto the side boards 1 of themain body 10. Thetop board 60 has a periphery formed with a downward extendingenclosure 63 enclosed around the top of themain body 10. Thetop board 60 has a side formed with an axially extending elongated limit channel 62 to allow insertion of the upper end of theresting board 50. - The connecting
seat 40 is located between theside boards 11 of themain body 10 and has two opposite ends each detachably mounted on the bottom of arespective side board 11 of themain body 10. The connectingseat 40 has an upper end formed with an axially extendingelongated limit channel 41 to allow insertion of the lower end of theresting board 50. The connectingseat 40 has a bottom rested on thesupport stud 15 of each of theside boards 11 and formed with twoopposite limit stubs 42 each inserted into thelimit hole 150 of thesupport stud 15 of therespective side board 11. - As shown in
FIGS. 1-4 , each of thesliding boards 16 of themain body 10 is pivotally mounted on the respectivefront board 18 by thehinge 17 so that each of thesliding boards 16 of themain body 10 is pivotable inwardly about thehinge 17 to move toward and rest on the respectivefront board 18. At the same time, each of theside boards 11 of themain body 10 is movable with the respectivesliding boards 16 to pivot toward thefront boards 18. Thus, thesliding boards 16 and theside boards 11 of themain body 10 are movable, to rest on thefront boards 18 as shown inFIG. 3 to fold themain body 10 so that themain body 10 is collapsible to have a flat shape when not in use. - As shown in
FIGS. 5 and 6 , each of thesliding boards 16 of themain body 10 is pivotable outwardly about thehinge 17 to move outwardly relative to the respectivefront board 18, and each of theside boards 11 of themain body 10 is movable with the respectivesliding boards 16 to move outwardly relative to the respectivefront boards 18, so that themain body 10 is expanded completely to have a substantially U-shaped profile. At this time, thesliding boards 16 and theside boards 11 of themain body 10 are perpendicular to thefront boards 18 when themain body 10 is expanded. In addition, each of the two opposite ends of each of thefront boards 18 is formed with arecessed stop portion 183 to stop movement of the first end of therespective side board 11 and the first end of the respective slidingboard 16 when themain body 10 is expanded. - As shown in
FIGS. 2 and 7 , each of thebottom boards 20 is in turn inserted through theguide slots 163 of the respectivesliding boards 16 of themain body 10 into thelimit slot 182 of the respectivefront board 18 of themain body 10. - As shown in
FIGS. 2 and 8 , when each of theback boards 30 is mounted on the respectivesliding boards 16 of themain body 10, thelimit posts 162 of each of thesliding boards 16 are inserted into thelimit holes 31 of therespective back board 30 to position each of theback boards 30 onto the respectivesliding boards 16. At the same time, each of thebottom boards 20 is inserted into theretaining slot 33 of therespective back board 30, so that each of theback boards 30, therespective bottom board 20 and the respectivesliding boards 16 are combined together closely. At this time, each of the two opposite ends of each of theback boards 30 has an end face formed with aslideway 32 slidable on therespective guide rail 14 of each of theside boards 11 so that each of theback boards 30 is slidable on therespective guide rail 14 of each of theside boards 11 smoothly. - As shown in
FIGS. 2 and 9 , when the connectingseat 40 is rested on thesupport stud 15 of each of theside boards 11, each of the limit stubs 42 of the connectingseat 40 is inserted into thelimit hole 150 of thesupport stud 15 of therespective side board 11. - As shown in
FIGS. 2 , 10 and 11, the restingboard 50 is inserted through theguide channels 13 of theside boards 11 into thelimit channel 41 of the connectingseat 40. - As shown in
FIGS. 1 and 2 , thetop board 60 is mounted on the top of themain body 10 and rested on the upper end of the restingboard 50, thereby constructing thecombination cabinet 11 as shown inFIG. 1 . At this time, thepositioning ribs 12 of theside boards 11 are positioned in the positioning holes 61 of thetop board 60 to position thetop board 60 onto theside boards 11 of themain body 10, and the upper end of the restingboard 50 is inserted into the limit channel 62 of thetop board 60 so that the restingboard 50 is limited between thetop board 60 and the connectingseat 40. - Accordingly, the
main body 10 is folded to have a flat shape and all parts of the combination cabinet 1 are folded and detached before assembly, so that the combination cabinet 1 has a smaller volume, thereby facilitating packaging, storage and transportation of the combination cabinet 1. In addition, the combination cabinet 1 is assembled and disassembled easily and quickly without needing aid of any hand tool, thereby facilitating a user assembling and disassembling the combination cabinet 1. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
Claims (20)
1. A combination cabinet, comprising a main body, a plurality of bottom boards, a plurality of back boards, a resting board, a top board, and a connecting seat, wherein:
the main body includes two upright side boards each provided with a plurality of transversely arranged guide rails, a plurality of sliding boards each slidably mounted on a respective guide rail of each of the side boards, and a plurality of front boards each having two opposite ends each of which is pivotally mounted on a first end of a respective sliding board to move with the to respective sliding board and is rested on a first end of a respective side board;
each of the bottom boards is detachably mounted between a respective front board of the main body and two respective sliding boards of the main body;
each of the back boards has two opposite ends each mounted on a second end of a respective sliding board of the main body to move with the respective sliding board of the main body;
the resting board has two opposite ends each detachably mounted on a second end of a respective side board of the main body;
the top board is mounted on a top of the main body and rested on an upper end of the resting board;
the connecting seat is mounted on a bottom of the main body and rested on a lower end of the resting board.
2. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the second end of each of the side boards is formed with an axially extending elongated guide channel perpendicular to the guide rails;
each of the two opposite ends of the resting board is slidably inserted into the guide channel of a respective side board.
3. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the sliding boards of the main body has an outer side formed with an axially extending elongated slideway slidable on the respective guide rail of each of the side boards.
4. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 11 wherein:
each of the sliding boards of the main body has an inner side formed with an axially extending elongated guide slot to allow insertion of a respective bottom board;
each of the front boards of the main body has a lower end formed with an axially extending elongated limit slot to allow insertion of a respective bottom board;
each of the back boards has a lower end formed with an axially extending elongated retaining slot to allow insertion of a respective bottom board.
5. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the first end of each of the sliding boards is pivotally mounted on the respective front board by at least one hinge.
6. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
the second end of each of the sliding boards has an end face formed with two spaced limit posts;
each of the two opposite ends of each of the back boards is formed with two spaced limit holes to allow insertion of the limit posts of the respective sliding board to position each of the back boards onto the respective sliding boards.
7. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 6 , wherein each of the two opposite ends of each of the back boards has an end face formed with a slideway located between the limit holes and slidable on the respective guide rail of each of the side boards.
8. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the front boards of the main body has an upper end formed with an opening to facilitate a user holding each of the front boards of the main body.
9. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein;
the sliding boards and the side boards of the main body are perpendicular to the front boards when the main body is expanded;
each of the two opposite ends of each of the front boards is formed with a recessed stop portion to stop movement of the first end of the respective side board and the first end of the respective sliding board when the respective side board is perpendicular to each of the front boards.
10. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the resting board is located between the side boards of the main body, the top board and the connecting seat so that the top board, the side boards of the main body and the resting board form a hollow rectangular structure to enclose each of the rectangular boxes.
11. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
each of the side boards of the main body has a top rested on the top board and formed with a plurality of positioning ribs;
the top board has a bottom formed with a plurality of positioning holes to allow insertion of the positioning ribs of the side boards to position the top board onto the side boards of the main body.
12. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
each of the side boards of the main body has a bottom rested on the connecting seat and formed with a protruding support stud having a limit hole;
is the connecting seat is located between the side boards of the main body and has two opposite ends each detachably mounted on the bottom of a respective side board of the main body;
the connecting seat has a bottom rested on the support stud of each of the side boards and formed with two opposite limit stubs each inserted into the limit hole of the support stud of the respective side board.
13. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein;
the top board has a side formed with an axially extending elongated limit channel to allow insertion of the upper end of the resting board;
the connecting seat has an upper end formed with an axially extending elongated limit channel to allow insertion of the lower end of the resting board.
14. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the side boards of the main body are fixed by the top board and the connecting seat.
15. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the sliding boards of the main body are located in and encompassed by the side boards.
16. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the back boards is rested on a respective bottom board so that each of the back boards, two respective sliding boards of the main body, the respective front board of the main body and the respective bottom board form a rectangular box which functions as a drawer.
17. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the top board has a periphery formed with a downward extending enclosure enclosed around the top of the main body.
18. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the front boards of the main body is located between the side boards.
19. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the main body is expanded to have a substantially U-shaped profile.
20. The combination cabinet in accordance with claim 1 , wherein:
each of the sliding boards of the main body is pivotable inwardly about the hinge to move toward and rest on the respective front board;
each of the side boards of the main body is movable with the respective sliding boards to pivot toward the front boards;
the sliding boards and the side boards of the main body are movable to rest on the front boards to fold the main body so that the main body, is collapsible to have a flat shape.
