Description
- (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention is related to a suitcase with its handle containing a fastening hook, and more particularly, to a suitcase allowing extra carry-on bag or similar object to be placed on a top of the suitcase and secured with a fastening rope to engage the hook.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- A suitcase of the prior art is usually provided on its back a handle, and the handle is made retractable in the main structure of the suitcase as desired for carrying or towing the suitcase as desired by a user. A traveler often has extra carry-on bag or similar object on the road and he may put it on top of the suitcase and rest on an extended frame of the handle while he/she is towing the suitcase for labor saving. It saves efforts but the carry-on bag or similar object can easily drop or get lost particularly when towing on a rough surface or among crowded people. A rope may prevent it, but it appears to be very troublesome and inconvenient since the user has to consume much time to fasten the carry-on bag or similar object with the rope. Therefore, the present invention discloses a suitcase with its handle adapted with a hook and a fastening rope to easily secure carry-on bag or similar object on top of the suitcase.
- The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a suitcase adapted with a retractable frame attached to its handle, and the handle is further provided with a hook to engage a rope to firmly fasten a carry-on bag or similar object on top of the suitcase. To achieve the purpose, a groove is provided on the handle. A hook projecting from the groove is concealed in the handle to prevent compromising the holding of the handle by a user. The rope is disposed to the body of the suitcase and is made of a material of high elasticity to allow it to be easily pulled up to engage with the hook on the handle. Accordingly, the carry-on bag or similar object is put on top of the suitcase and secured with the rope before engaging the rope to the hook of the handle. The user can easily and firmly secure the carry-on bag or similar object while controlling the rope to prevent it from being disengaged since the end of the rope and the hook are concealed in the handle without interfering the holding or towing action of the suitcase by the user.

FIG. 10 is another schematic view showing the locating method of the fastening rope in another preferred embodiment yet of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a suitcase with its handle containing a fastening hook allows a user to stack anobject 4 upon top on abody 1 of the suitcase for theobject 4 to rest against ahandle 2 as pulled up from a towing frame attached to the suitcase; and ahook 22 is disposed to thehandle 2 to fasten theobject 4 to the suitcase by having arope 3 disposed on thebody 1 of the suitcase to engage with thehook 22. - Wherein, the
body 1 of the suitcase on its front is provided with afront cover 11 that can be lifted to open. Multiple, and usually tworetractable rods 12 are internally disposed in the back of thebody 1 of the suitcase connected at their tops to ahandle 2. Twocasters 13 are disposed at the bottom of thebody 1 of the suitcase to facilitate towing the suitcase. Thehandle 2 as illustrated inFIGS. 3 , 4, and 5 relates to a rod incorporated between those tworetractable rods 12 with their tops. Alateral groove 21 is provided in afront 23 of thehandle 2 and thehook 22 protrudes from the bottom in thegroove 21. Thehook 22 is engaged to arope 3. As illustrated inFIGS. 2 and 5 , therope 3 made of a material of high elasticity has its bothends 31 incorporated into thebody 1 of the suitcase. Amid section 32 of therope 3 is drawn up to engage with thehook 22 of thehandle 2 for fastening theobject 4 to the suitcase. - Now referring to
FIGS. 1 and 5 for a method and status of applying the present invention, the user puts theobject 4, a carry-on bag as illustrated, upon the top of thebody 1 of the suitcase and resting on bothretractable rods 12; pulls up themid section 32 of therope 3 to go around theobject 4 before having themid section 32 of therope 3 to engage thehook 22 in thegroove 21 of thehandle 2 to fasten theobject 4 by taking advantage of the elasticity of therope 3 in an easy way. Since both of thehook 22 and the rope are received and concealed in thehandle 2, the user is able to control therope 3 to prevent from falling off without interfering with the holding and towing of the suitcase by the user to achieve convenient and practical results. - As illustrated in
FIG. 6 , thehook 22 is provided on the top of thegroove 21 so to go around therope 3 before engaging therope 3 with thehook 22; or alternatively, as illustrated inFIGS. 7 and 8 , thegroove 21 is disposed in theback 24 of thehandle 2 and thehook 22 is provided on the top or the bottom of thegroove 21 to achieve the similar results of having therope 3 to engage with the hook. - To incorporate the
rope 3 to the interior of thebody 1 of the suitcase as illustrated inFIG. 9 , anaccommodation bag 14 is disposed on thefront cover 11; azipper 15 is provided on an opening of theaccommodation bag 14; and bothends 31 of therope 3 are secured or stored in theaccommodation bag 14 for the user to fetch therope 3 at any time as desired. As illustrated inFIG. 10 , theobject 4 can be fastened in position to prevent easy falling off or getting lost. Twoholes 16 are provided at where close to the top of thefront cover 11; bothends 31 of therope 3 respectively pass through bothholes 16 to be secured to where close to the bottom on both sides in thefront cover 11; and two resilient locatingmember 17 are respectively disposed on both inner sides of thefront cover 11 wheremid section 32 of therope 3 are secured to cover up therope 3 for keeping therope 3 flushed in storage while leaving themid section 32 of therope 3 out of thefront cover 11. Themid section 32 of therope 3 naturally restraints flushed on the surface of thefont cover 11 for the user to pull themid section 32 of therope 3 for use.
