Abstract
The invention relates to a device for the display of a tagging item, such as an advertising leaflet, or the like, on a shelf of a selling surface. The tagging item is presented vertically and notably protrudes externally and at a right angle from the front of the shelf. The device includes at least one supporting wing fitted with a mount cooperative with orifices of the shelf. The supporting wing has a holder for the tagging item. The mount includes a foot slaved to the lower end of the supporting wing and fitted with a rear rod. The rod runs through one orifice in order to protrude downwards, below the shelf, when the foot rests on the upper surface of the shelf. A removable counter-rest sleeve includes a planar extension cooperative with the lower surface of the shelf the sleeve has a mechanism for engaging into/disengaging from the rear rod.

- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to a device for the display of a tagging item, such as, in particular, an advertising leaflet or the like, on a shelf of a selling surface.
- 2. Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 37 CFR 1.98
- In order to draw the consumers' attention to specific items, it is known to arrange a tagging item protruding at a right angle, vertically ahead of the shelf.
- Such tagging items enable, in particular, putting in notice of sales prices and other promotional operations on certain articles while facilitating the localization of the latter on the shelf.
- As known, the tagging item is carried by a presentation device, generally formed by a plastic supporting wing, designated as a “shark wing”. The wing exhibits, on its lower portion, a mounting foot for the attachment of the device to the shelf. Different mounting feet are known to enable the attachment of the device, for instance, attachment on a rail arranged on the front edge the shelf, on a profile of a tag holder type fixed on the front edge of the shelf or on an orifice of a drilled shelf
- The aim of the present invention is to provide a device for the display of tags exhibiting means for attachment to a drilled shelf, that is easy to install and low cost.
- Another aim of the present invention is to provide a device formed of two elements, which may be made fully of plastic material.
- Other aims and advantages of the present invention will appear in the following description.
- The invention relates to a device for the display of a tagging item, such as, in particular, an advertising leaflet, or the like, on a shelf of a selling surface. The device is provided for exhibiting the tagging item vertically, the latter protruding notably externally and at a right angle from the front of the shelf. The device exhibiting at least one supporting wing fitted with mounting means provided for cooperation with the orifices of a shelf drilled for the attachment of the device to said shelf. The supporting wing exhibits means for holding the tagging item, in particular, by one of its edges.
- According to the invention, the mounting means include a foot, slaved to the lower end of the supporting wing and fitted with a rear rod, said rod being capable of running through one of said orifices of the shelf in order to protrude downwards, below the latter, when said foot is resting on the upper surface of said shelf. The mounting means also includes a counter-rest sleeve, being removable and exhibiting a planar extension provided for cooperating with the lower surface of the shelf, said sleeve exhibiting means for engaging into/disengaging from said rear rod.
- The invention will be understood better when reading the following description accompanied by the appended drawings.

FIG. 7 is a side elevation view of the counter-rest sleeve of the device as illustrated inFIG. 1 . - The invention relates to a device for the display of a tagging item, such as, in particular, an advertising leaflet or the like, on a
shelf 3 of a selling surface. - The device 1 is provided for exhibiting the
tagging item 2 vertically, the latter protruding notably externally and at a right angle from the front of theshelf 3. - The device exhibits at least one supporting
wing 4 fitted with mounting means 5 provided for cooperation with theorifices 30 of the shelf. Theorifices 30 being drilled for the attachment of the device to said shelf. Such orifices are coplanar and arranged on line at the upper face of the edge of the shelf, according to a given number and a given pitch, as illustrated onFIGS. 1 and 3 . - The supporting
wing 4 exhibits means 6 for holding the tagging item, in particular, by one of its edges. These means maybe formed of a set of tongues and toes, said tongues extending parallel to the plane of the supportingwing 4, to define at least one space, run through by said toes, in order to insert the tagging item. The toes are provided for engaging into corresponding orifices of the tagging item. - According to the invention, the mounting means 5 include, on the one hand a
foot 7 and on the other hand acounter-rest sleeve 9. Thefoot 7 slaved to the lower end of the supportingwing 4, fitted with arear rod 8 capable of running through one of the orifices of the shelf in order to protrude downwards, below the latter, when thefoot 7 is resting on the upper surface of said shelf. Thecounter-rest sleeve 9 is removable and exhibits aplanar extension 10 provided for co-operating with the lower surface of the shelf. Thesleeve 9 exhibits means 11 for engaging into/disengaging from saidrear rod 8. - As illustrated on
FIG. 6 , according to an example, thefoot 7 may exhibitabase 12 intended for resting on the upper surface of theshelf 3. Thisbase 12 may be provided with one orseveral positioning toes 13 intended for cooperation with the orifices of said shelf. In particular, according to the example ofFIG. 6 , thebase 12 exhibits twolateral toes 13, therear rod 8 being median to said toes. - This foot may be especially designed for all the shelves drilled with round orifices, in particular 6 mm in diameter, or still in the form of a lozenge with 5 mm sides. The distance between the drillings maybe, for instance, i.e. 25 mm, i.e. a distance whereof the multiple is equal to 25 mm, such as for instance 12.5 mm.
- Advantageously, as illustrated on
FIGS. 5 and 6 , thecounter-rest sleeve 9 and the rod may exhibit guiding means 14, 15 enabling to couple both these elements to one another along a determined relative angular position. - The
planar extension 10 protrudes laterally to the body of thesleeve 9. The guiding means 14, 15 may advantageously enable direction of theplanar extension 10 so that said extension opposes optimally the action of the torque induced by the weight of atagging item 2 slaved cantilever to said supportingwing 4 of the device. - In particular, as illustrated according to the example of
FIG. 5 , theplanar extension 10 of thesleeve 9 may exhibit a main,predominant wing 21 andlateral wings 22 of smaller size. - Advantageously, as illustrated on
FIG. 2 , the guiding means 14, 15 may enable direction of the main wing, backwards relative to thetagging item 2. - The guiding means may in particular be formed of a
groove 14 of therear rod 8 and arib 15, internal, of thecounter-rest sleeve 9, as illustrated onFIGS. 5 and 6 , or conversely. In particular, thegroove 14 and therib 15 exhibit V-shaped complementary profiles. Advantageously, a reinforcement fitting 19 may join the body of thecounter-rest sleeve 9 to said planar extension, and in particular as illustrated onFIG. 4 , the body of the sleeve with themain wing 21. - The engaging/disengaging
means 11 may be formed of anelastic tongue 16 of the body of thesleeve 9. The end of theelastic tongue 16 may exhibit a locking finger capable of engaging with acavity 20 of saidrear rod 8. - Advantageously, the end of the
elastic tongue 16, in particular the locking finger may be provided with agripping extension 18 enabling release of the lockingfinger 17 of thecavity 20 and thus enabling the disengagement of thesleeve 9. - Advantageously, the different elements forming the device maybe formed of plastic material and obtained by the injection-moulding techniques.
- Naturally, other embodiments, understandable to the man of the art, could have been contemplated without departing from the framework of the invention defined by the claims below.
Claims (10)
1. A device for the display of a tagging item, such as an advertising leaflet, or the like, on a shelf of a selling surface, said device being provided for exhibiting said tagging item vertically, said tagging item protruding notably externally and at a right angle from a front of said shelf, said shelf having orifices drilled therethrough, said device comprising:
at least one supporting wing fitted with mounting means provided for co-operating with said orifices of said shelf for attachment to said shelf, said supporting wing comprising means for holding said tagging item by an edge of said tagging item, said mounting means comprising:
a foot, slaved to a lower end of the supporting wing and fitted with a rear rod, said rear rod running through one of said orifices of said shelf and protruding downwards below said shelf when said foot rests on an upper surface of said shelf; and
a counter-rest sleeve being removable and having a planar extension cooperative with the lower surface of said shelf, the sleeve having means for engaging into/disengaging from said rear rod.
2. A device according to claim 1 , wherein the said foot is comprised of a base resting on the upper surface of said shelf, and one or several toes positioned for cooperation with said orifices of said shelf.
3. A device according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a guiding means coupling said counter-rest sleeve and said rear rod to one another according to a determined relative angular position.

A device according to claim 3 , wherein said planar extension protrudes laterally to a body of the sleeve, said guiding means directing said planar extension so that said planar extension optimally opposes action of a torque induced by weight of said tagging item slaved cantilever to said supporting wing.
5. A device according to claim 3 , wherein said guiding means comprises a groove of said rear rod and a rib of the counter-rest sleeve, or conversely.
6. A device according to claim 5 , wherein said groove and said rib exhibit V-shaped complementary profiles.
7. A device according to claim 1 , wherein the engaging/disengaging means is comprised of an elastic tongue of the body of the sleeve, said elastic tongue having an end with a locking finger engaged into a cavity of said rear rod.
8. A device according to claim 7 , wherein said end of said elastic tongue is provided with a gripping extension to enable disengagement of the sleeve.
9. A device according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a reinforcement fitting joining the body of said counter-rest sleeve to said planar extension.
10. A method of manufacture of a device for the display of a tagging item according to claim 1 , wherein different elements forming the device are comprised of plastic material and obtained by injection-moulding techniques.
