Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Field of the Invention
  • The present invention is related to a magazine of an airsoft gun, and more particularly to an improved structure of a magazine for loading ball bullets or paintball bullets used as projectiles for the airsoft gun during a war game or target shooting practice.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • Many people enjoy the excitement experienced in a war or survival game and they always use airsoft guns and projectiles of plastic ball or paintball to imitate real gun and bullet that present real life-threatening dangers and under strict control. Multiple projectiles are loaded in a magazine to be fired one by one by the airsoft gun.
  • Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8 for a magazine of the prior art, an outer case 10 encloses a magazine casing 11; a ratchet 12, a dialer 13, a coil spring 14, an active gear 15, a passive gear 16, a deflection gear 17, a bullet guide wheel 18, and an elastic member 19 are provided below the magazine casing 11; the peripheral of the dialer 13 is disposed with multiple dialing teeth; an inlet 111 is disposed on top of the magazine casing 11; and a guide channel 112 extends on one side in the magazine casing 11 from below to the top by following the turning direction of the dialer 13. When multiple projectiles 1 are loaded through the inlet 111, they stack up in the upper section of the magazine casing 11 with the ratchet 12 exposed out of where below the magazine casing 11. Meanwhile the dialer 13 is turned for the coil spring 14 installed inside the dialer 13 to store torque applied by the ratchet 12 and the dialer 13 so to further drive the active gear 15, and the deflection gear 17 in sequence to revolve. Dialing from the deflection gear 17 allows those projectiles to be released to pass one by one the guide wheel 18, the elastic member in sequence 19 to enter into one side of the dialer 13. Those projectiles 1 are then dialed into the guide channel 112 one after another by those teeth 131. As a projectile 1 in the guide channel is fired through the airsoft gun, the torque-loaded coil spring 14 pushes another projectile 1 into the guide channel 112.
  • Accordingly, the prior art essentially operates on the revolving ratchet 12. However, so far the ratchet 12 revolves each time just for a small travel. As illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8, the energy stored in the coil spring 14 is linked to operate by having a finger of a player to repeatedly dial the ratchet 12 exposed out of where below the magazine casing 11. This way of dialing is slower and not efficient while preventing an easy dialing. Time is the essence in a war game, and firing the projectile 1 soonest is always the decisive factor of a win or a lose.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide an improved construction of an airsoft magazine for loading projectiles including ball or paintball bullets to correct the problems of slower, inefficient, and inconvenient dialing to reload the projectiles as found with the prior art.
  • To achieve the purpose, a magazine of the present invention is comprised of an outer case containing an integrated magazine casing, and a ratchet, a dialer, a coil spring, an active gear, a passive gear, a deflection gear, a guide wheel, an elastic member, and a key are received where below the magazine casing in the outer case. Wherein, an inlet is disposed on the magazine casing incorporated below with the ratchet and the dialer; the guide channel extends by following the turning direction of the dialer from one side of the magazine casing up to its top; a non-circular insertion hole incorporated inside the magazine casing is disposed externally to the center of the ratchet and is located at where exposed out of the magazine casing and the outer case of the magazine; multiple teeth are provided on the peripheral of the dialer; and the coil spring is connected into the dialer and respectively connected to the ratchet and the dialer. When the ratchet revolves, the torque generated is stored in the coil spring where the torque energy is converted to the dialer. The active gear is linked to operate by the dialer; the passive gear is linked to operate by the active gear; and the deflection gear is linked to operate by the passive gear. The guide wheel is disposed in conjunction with the elastic member. The key made in an S shape or any other shape that facilitates continuous cranking has its terminal made in a shape to compromise the insertion hole.
  • The improved construction of the magazine for an airsoft gun to fire projectiles including ball or paintball bullets of the present invention when compared with the prior art allows smooth, convenient, and efficient way to continuous drive the ratchet to revolve by using a key inserted into the insertion hole of the ratchet.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, a magazine of the present invention includes an outer case 20 enclosing an integrated magazine casing 30; a ratchet 40, a dialer 50, a coil spring 60, an active gear 70, a passive gear 71, a deflection gear 80, a guide wheel 90, an elastic member 91, and a key 100 are received below the magazine casing 30 in the outer case 20. Wherein, an inlet 31 is disposed on top of the magazine casing 30 and the inlet 31 at its lower portion is incorporated with the ratchet 40; the guide channel 32 extends from one side of the magazine casing 30 up to its top by following the revolving direction of the dialer 50; a non-circular insertion hole 31 is provided externally to the center of the ratchet 40 and exposed from the top of the magazine casing 30; multiple teeth 51 are disposed on the peripheral of the dialer 50; and the coil spring 60 is incorporated in the dialer 50 and is respectively connected to the ratchet 40 and the dialer 50. Once the ratchet 40 revolves, the torque generated is stored in the coil spring 60 and the torque energy is then converted to the dialer 50. The active gear is linked to operate by the dialer 50; the passive wheel 71, by the active gear 70; and the deflection gear 80, by the passive gear 71. The guide wheel 90 is disposed in conjunction with the elastic member 91. The key 100 is made in an S shape or any other shape that allows easy continuous turning, and a terminal 101 of the key is made in a shape to compromise the insertion hole 41 of the ratchet.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 1, 4, and 5, multiple projectiles 1 are loaded through the inlet 31 of the magazine casing 30, and they stack up in the upper portion of the magazine casing 30. When the ratchet 40 revolves, it twists the coil spring 60 to convert energy to the dialer 50, which in turn drives the active gear 70 and the deflection gear 80. By taking advantage of the biased dialing executed by the deflection gear 80, those projectiles 1 otherwise in disorder at all are loosened up to pass one by one through the guide wheel 90 into one side of the dialer 50. Those projectile 21 are then dialed by those teeth 51 of the dialer 50 to the guide channel 32 and then pushed up one after another. Once a projectile 1 is fired, the replacement is automatically pushed into position by the energy stored in the coil spring 60.
  • Now referring to FIG. 6, the ratchet 40 is cranked by the key 100. The terminal 101 of the key 100 is inserted into the insertion hole 41 exposed out of the outer case 20 for the key 100 to engage with the ratchet 40 to crank the ratchet to keep revolving for delivering energy to be stored in the coil spring 60.
  • Accordingly, the present invention provides smooth, efficient, and convenient means to continuously revolve the ratchet 40 by engaging the key 100 to the insertion hole 41 of the ratchet 40.
