Description

..Fuiy 9, 193. M. VON ARDENNE WW CASCADE AMPLIFIER WITHOUT BACK COUPLING OVER THE ANODE POTENTIAL SOURCES Filed March 6, 1953 Patented 'July 9, 1935 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE CASCADE AMPLIFIER WITHOUT BACK-COU- PLING OVER THE ANODE POTENTIAL SOURCES :Manfred von Ardenne, Berlin, Germany, assignor to Radioaktiengesellschaft D. S. Loewe, Berlin- 'Steglitz, Germany, a company of Germany Application March 6, 1933, Serial No. 659,616 Germany March 5, 1932 1 Claim. (01. 179-171) (Granted under the provisions of sec. 14, act of March 2, 1927; 357 0. G. 5)
quency, because as regards these slow alternating potentials the blocking condensers of the anode potential sources and the anode control steadying system become ineffective. Systems linked up with house circuits are particularly liable to disturbance, as the inner resistance between the mains and the anodes is always a capacitative resistance.
According to the invention, back-coupling is overcome by the fact that the first, third and fifth stages and the second, fourth and sixth stages of the valve are operated in common by different anode current sources. The anode potentials of these stages are in phase, so that a gain reaction within each group is impossible.
In the drawing a form of embodiment of a four-stage cascade according to the invention is illustrated by way of example. The anodes of the systems I and 3 are linked up through the medium of the resistances 5 and 6 with the 10 anode current source It], and the anodes of the systems 2 and '4 through the medium of the resistances 6 and 8 with the anode current source 9.
I claim:
A cascade tube amplifier of three or more stages comprising two anode current sources independent from one another, the anode of the odd stages being connected to the one, the anodes of the even number stages to the second of said current sources. v
