Abstract
The object of the present invention is a mask for swimming or scuba diver which is provided with one or two lenses adapted at the centre of the mask.
Description
- The object of the present invention is a mask for swimming or for scuba diver which is provided with one or two lenses adapted for supporting, through special fixing means.
- It is known that to be properly used, masks require a snorkel, of course the use of the same is to allow the scuba diver or swimmer not to be forced to continuously raise his/her face from the water searching for air.
- All scuba diving or snorkelling masks are provided with the snorkel fixed laterally relative to the mask, whether it is arranged on the right side or on the left side.
- The fixing takes place by a special hook located on the snorkel and commonly called snorkel keeper, which hooks to the mask adjustment strap.
- The snorkel is also commonly fixed to the mask by the simple insertion thereof between the scuba diver's head and the adjustment strap of the mask itself.
- This second fixing method is dictated by the scuba diver's experience who is able to place and remove the snorkel more quickly. In any case, the snorkel is currently fixed to the mask in these two ways only.
- According to the present invention, the snorkel is not arranged laterally relative to the lens or lenses of the mask anymore, but in central position relative to the lens or lenses themselves. It is fixed to the mask frame by a structure that seats the snorkel.
- As can be easily understood the centrally positioned snorkel allows the scuba diver or swimmer to move their arms more freely, in fact it is more difficult for the scuba diver to knock against the snorkel while swimming or diving and it is also in a more hydrodynamic position.
- Moreover it should be noted that even if the snorkel is arranged in this way it does not affect the scuba diver's view in any way.
- The essential features of the invention are summarised and schematised in the claims.
- The features and the advantages of the same, moreover, will appear clearly from the following description, relating to embodiments chosen by way of an example only with special reference to the annexed drawing tables, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 shows the front view of a snorkelling mask according to the invention, in the solution envisaging two lenses and a snorkel fixed toframe 5 according to astiff structure 6 called fork. -
FIG. 2 shows the front view of a snorkelling mask according to the invention, in the solution envisaging a single lens, a noseless face lens and therefore assimilable to a swimming mask and a snorkel with the addition of a venting valve. -
FIG. 3 shows an example of fork. -
FIG. 4 shows the side view of a snorkelling mask according to the invention in the standard configuration thereof, that is, set up for the standard use thereof. -
FIG. 5 shows the side view of a snorkelling mask according to the invention and a special use thereof. - the invention as shown in
FIG. 1 is comprised of asnorkel 1 consisting of astiff portion 2, asoft portion 3 and amouthpiece 4 and a mask, in this case with two lenses, whoseframe 5 is fixed a stiff structure saidfork 6 adapted for supportingsnorkel 1 in central position. - This solution is especially suitable for practicing snorkelling and wellbeing swimming.
-
FIG. 2 shows a variation wherein the silicone face lens is noseless and thus the mask itself is assimilable to a swimming mask. - Moreover,
snorkel 1 also envisages the addition of anair venting valve 7 which contributes to facilitating the swimmer's breathing. - Therefore in the standard use thereof the mask is illustrated in
FIG. 4 , as can be seensnorkel 1 fixed to the mask frame is perfectly adhering to the scuba diver's head and does not interfere with the swimmer's hydrodynamics, in fact it favours it as compared to the standard solutions wherein the snorkel is arranged laterally. - Moreover it may be seen that the snorkel does not hinder the swim in any way, in fact the swimmer if free to move his/her arms as he/she likes.
-
FIG. 5 shows a special use of the invention. - In fact it may be seen that the tube of snorkel 1 (either with or without valve) is comprised of two portions: a stiff one 2 and a soft one 3 (the actual tube) besides
mouthpiece 4. - By the simple rotation of the
soft structure 3 on the stiff one 2 it is possible to reverse the inclination of the snorkel relative to the standard position shown inFIG. 4 and described hereinbefore and thus use the mask and the snorkel also for practising the backstroke discipline. - This is particularly useful since it allows those who have never practised this discipline to practise it freely and this is absolutely necessary for all those people that must absolutely practise it to recover from back ailments.
Claims (6)
1. Mask for snorkelling or swimming of the type provided with at least one lens and a snorkel, characterised in that it comprises a support adapted for supporting said snorkel in central position relative to said at least one lens.
2. Mask for snorkelling or swimming according to the previous claim, characterised in that said snorkel support is comprised of a stiff fork structure.
3. Mask for snorkelling or swimming according to the previous claim, characterised in that the snorkel tube is comprised of a soft portion and a stiff portion.
4. Mask for snorkelling or swimming according to the previous claim, characterised in that said soft portion and said stiff portion are turnably associated to one another so that through relative rotation thereof the inclination of the snorkel tube is changed to allow the user to practise the backstroke discipline.
5. Mask for snorkelling or swimming according to the previous claim, characterised in that said snorkel exhibits an air venting valve.
6. Mask for snorkelling or swimming according to the previous claim, characterised in that the mask face lens is noseless.
