  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1˜5, a waist and leg exerciser in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a machine base 1, an upright handle 11 provided at the front side of the machine base 1, an upright shaft 12 vertically provided at the rear side of the machine base 1, a bracket 13 fixedly provided at the top side of the upright shaft 12, two pedals 14 bilaterally pivotally mounted on the machine base 1 near the bottom side of the upright handle 11, two first pulleys 15 respectively pivoted to the pedals 14, two locating pins 16 bilaterally fastened to the upright shaft 12 near the machine base 1, and two second pulleys 17 and two third pulleys 18 symmetrically pivotally mounted on the bottom side of the bracket 13.
  • A holder frame 2 is provided at the top side of the bracket 13. Two fourth pulleys 23 are bilaterally pivotally mounted in the holder frame 2. Two adjustment rods 21 are respectively installed in the front and rear sides of the holder frame 2. Two knobs 22 are respectively affixed to the adjustment rods 21 outside the holder frame 2.
  • Two arched track boards 3 are provided inside the holder frame 2, each having a circularly arched sliding slot 31. A link 4 is provided having two axle bearings 41 respectively disposed at the two distal ends and respectively coupled to the circularly arched sliding slots 31 of the arched track boards 3. A bearing plate 5 is mounted on the top side of the holder frame 2, having a plurality of axle bearings 51 provided at the top side to support a seat frame 6 to hold a seat 7. The sear frame 6 has a center steam 61 axially coupled to the upright shaft 4, and two pull shafts 62 disposed at two sides relative to the center stem 61.
  • Two cables 8 are respectively extending in proper order over the fourth pulleys 23, the second pulleys 17, the third pulleys 18 and the first pulleys 15, each having one end respectively fastened to the pull shafts 62 and the other end respectively fastened to the locating pins 16.
  • When in use, the user is sitting on the seat 7 and holding the upright handle 11 with both hands, and then alternatively pedaling the pedals 14 with the legs. When pedaling the pedals 14, the cables 8 are alternatively stretched and released to move the pull shafts 62 along the circularly arched sliding slots 31 of the arched track boards 3, causing the seat 7 to move in an 8-shaped action, and therefore the user's waist and hips are twisted. Because the user keeps pedaling the pedals 14 during operation, the muscles of the legs are well exercised.
