Abstract
An icemaker includes a main body, a water chamber, an icing device and a cover. The main body has a reservoir with a water inlet, a containing chamber, a water tube connected with the water entry and having water injecting hole, a pump connected with the water tube and a water passageway formed between the containing chamber and the reservoir. The water chamber is pivotally connected in the containing chamber, having a pushing board connected pivotally at the front side. The icing device is installed at the top of the water chamber, having plural icing bars extended into the water chamber. Then the pump sends water in the water chamber, and the icing device freezes the water around the icing bars, with water kept pumped into the water chamber till ice blocks are made, so as to obtain a clear and bright ice blocks.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to an icemaker, particularly to one including a main body, a water chamber and an icing device to produce clear and bright ice blocks while water kept flowing into the water chamber until ice blocks are made.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Ice is popularly and indispensably used for drinks, freezing foods, cooling foods temporarily, diminishing a fever, or cooling a sprain or an inflamed part. Ordinarily, ice is made simply by means of containers filled with water and laid in a refrigerator for freezing. But, a refrigerator is mainly used to store foods, apt to let water contaminated with peculiar smells while being frozen, able to spoil taste of drinks or the like. Moreover, a conventional refrigerator can only produce ice in a limited quantity in about one hour each time, unable to satisfy urgent need of a large quantity. Or, if there is no proper container, bigger ice blocks have to be crashed into small pieces by a tool, quite bothering. Therefore, the invention has been devised to overcome the defects mentioned above.
- The objective of this invention is to offer an icemaker able to quickly produce sanitary ice blocks that smell purely and are formed clearly and brightly in a proper size.
- The main characteristics of the invention are a main body, a water chamber, an icing device and a cover. The main body is provided with a reservoir having a water inlet, a containing chamber provided with a supporting plate located at an inner wall of one side, a water tube connected with the water inlet and having a water injecting hole at the upper portion attached on a wall of the containing chamber, a pump connected with the water tube and a water passageway formed between the containing chamber and the reservoir. The water chamber pivotally connected in the containing chamber is provided with a pushing board connected pivotally at the front side. The icing device installed at the top of the water chamber is provided with plural icing bars spaced apart and extending into the water chamber.
- This invention is better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an icemaker in the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a partial perspective view of the icemaker in the present invention, showing it being operated; -
FIG. 3 is a top view ofFIG. 2 ; -
FIG. 4 is a partial side elevational view of the ice maker in the present invention, showing it being operated; and -
FIG. 5 is another partial side elevational view of the icemaker in the present invention, showing it being operated. - First, as shown in
FIGS. 1 and 4 , a preferred embodiment of an icemaker in the present invention includes amain body 1, awater chamber 2, anicing device 3 and acover 4. - The
main body 1 is provided with acontrol panel 10 on a front surface, areservoir 11 in the front lower portion provided with awater inlet 110 near its bottom, a containingchamber 12 at an upper rear portion provided with a supportingplate 120 located at an inner wall of one side, awater tube 13 connected with thewater entry 110 and provided with a water injectinghole 130 at an upper portion attached on a wall of the containingchamber 12 under the supportingplate 120, apump 14 connected with thewater tube 13 and a water passageway 15 formed between the containingchamber 12 and thereservoir 11. - The
water chamber 2 pivotally connected in the containingchamber 12 is provided with a pushingboard 20 connected pivotally at the front side. - The
icing device 3 installed at the top of thewater chamber 2 is provided withplural icing bars 30 spaced apart and extending vertically into thewater chamber 2. - The
cover 4 is set on the top of themain body 1. - In using, as shown in
FIGS. 1-5 , press a starting button in thecontrol panel 10 of themain body 1 first. Then water is to flow through thewater inlet 110 of thereservoir 11 into thewater tube 13 and pressurized by thepump 14 to flow up to the water injectinghole 130 and fall into thewater chamber 2. Theicing device 3 begins to carry out a freezing process as soon as thewater chamber 2 is filled full. Meanwhile, thepump 14 is to keep pumping water into thewater chamber 2, letting the overflowing water pass down through the water passageway 15 in front of the containingchamber 12, and back in thereservoir 11. By the time, theicing bars 30 of theicing device 3 extending in thewater chamber 2 can freeze gradually the water around theicing bars 30 to quickly become ice blocks (A). When the ice blocks (A) are completely formed clear and bright, thepump 14 is stopped from injecting water. Next, turn and tilt thewater chamber 2, and then the water remaining on the ice blocks (A) drops down. Then carry out unfreezing to keep ice blocks (A) as many as the number of theicing bars 30 released from theicing bars 30 to drop into the containingchamber 12. After thewater chamber 2 turns back to the normal or horizontal position, the ice blocks (A) are shoveled by the pushingboard 20 pivotally connected at the front of thewater chamber 2, sliding along the pushingboard 20 into an ice container (not shown in Figures and able to be put on thereservoir 11 before unfreezing). - Therefore, the invention can manufacture and unfreeze sanitary clear ice blocks quickly for urgent need.
- While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
