  • The present invention relates to a chest for storing clothes, small articles, and so on.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Hitherto, a chest is used for storing clothes or small articles and so on.
  • The chest is composed of a chest body and a drawer stored in the chest body so as to be capable of being drawn out therefrom.
  • The drawer is formed of resin using a metal mold and is formed into a rectangular container-shape opening upward. Rails are provided on the side surfaces of the drawer along the upper edges thereof, and rails which are paired with these rails are extended in the chest body.
  • Accordingly, the drawer can be taken in and out easily by the movement of the rails on the drawer along the rails in the chest body.
  • However, in the chest in this configuration, it is necessary to secure spaces for arranging the rails between the side surfaces of the drawer and the chest body because of the structure in which the rails are provided on the side surfaces of the drawer.
  • Consequently, there arises a problem that the capacity of the drawer is reduced.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of such a problem in the related art, it is an object of the invention to provide a chest in which the storability of the drawer can be increased.
  • In order to solve the above-described problem, a chest according to claim 1 of the invention is a chest including rails extending on the side surfaces of a synthetic resin drawer stored in a chest body in which the rails are provided on the lower portions of the side surfaces.
  • In other words, when forming the synthetic resin drawer with a metal mold, the side surfaces of the drawer are formed to be inclined outward as they go upward by a draft angle of the metal mold, and the side surfaces are inclined so as to be set back inward as they go downward.
  • Therefore, gaps between the chest body and the side surfaces of the drawer which are formed in conformity with the wide upper edge are widened as they go downward, and the rails are arranged in these lower spaces.
  • According to claim 2, the rail is formed with a lower fixed surface to be fixed to the lower surface of the drawer and an upright surface extending upright from the lower fixed surface to be fixed to the side surface of the drawer.
  • In other words, the lower fixed surface of the rail is fixed to the lower surface of the drawer and the upright surface extending upright from the lower fixed surface is fixed to the side surface of the drawer.
  • Accordingly, the corners of the lower portion of the drawer are reinforced by the lower fixed surface and the upright surface of the L-shaped rail. Consequently, the rigidity of the drawer can be enhanced.
  • According to claim 3, the widthwise dimension of the drawer is set to be decreased as it goes downward, so that the opposing side surfaces are inclined.
  • Accordingly, the draft angle of the metal mold at the time of resin molding can be set, and the drawers can be stored in a stack.
  • ADVANTAGE EFFECT
  • As described the above, according to the invention of claim 1, the rails can be mounted using the lower spaces formed by the gaps between the chest body and the side surfaces of the drawer whose width becomes the largest.
  • Therefore, in comparison with the related art in which the rails are provided on the side surfaces of the wider upper portion, reduction of the capacity of the drawer can be prevented and improvement of storability can be achieved.
  • According to claim 2 of the invention, the corners of the lower portion of the drawer are reinforced by the lower fixed surface and the upright surface of the L-shaped rail.
  • Consequently, the rigidity of the drawer can be enhanced.
  • According to claim 3, the widthwise dimension of the drawer is set to be decreased as it goes downward, so that the opposing side surfaces are inclined. Accordingly, the draft angle of the metal mold at the time of resin molding can be set, and the drawers can be stored in a stack.
