Abstract

A magnetic sealing pocket has a pocket and two sealing ridges. The pocket has an opening. The opening has two edges. The two sealing ridges are mounted respectively on the two edges of the opening and is used to seal the opening. The sealing ridges have a magnetic material held inside.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a pocket, especially to a pocket with two sealing ridges.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • The term “pocket”0 refers to a container that comprises a containing space and at least one sealing edge.
  • With reference to FIG. 10, a conventional pocket is used to contain compact disks (CD) and comprises a cover (71), a base (72), a pivotal hinge (73) and a zipper (74).
  • The cover (71) has an edge.
  • The base (72) has an edge corresponding to the edge of the cover (71). An opening is defined between the edges of the cover (71) and the base (72).
  • The pivotal hinge (73) is mounted between the edges of the base (72) and the cover (71) to pivotally connect the base (72) with the cover (71).
  • The zipper (74) is formed on the edges of the cover (71) and the base (72). The zipper (74) comprises a tab (741) for operating the zipper (74). When the zipper (74) is unfastened, the opening is opened to make the CD inside accessible.
  • However, the CD inside the pocket is not accessible until the zipper (74) is totally unfastened, such that the use of the conventional pocket is inconvenient. In addition, the zipper (74) always generates a buzzing sound while the zipper (74) is opened and this is annoying.
  • With reference to FIG. 11, another conventional pocket attached to a golf bag is used to contain accessories of golf and comprises a base, a side face (82), a cover (83) and a zipper (84).
  • The base has four sides and is attached to the golf bag.
  • The cover (83) extends from one side of the base and has an edge.
  • The side face (82) is attached to the base, forms a containing space and has two edges. One of the two edges is attached to the base and surrounds three sides of the base except the side from which the cover (83) extends. The other edge corresponds to the edge of the cover (83). The corresponding edges of the cover (83) and the side face (82) form an opening, and the opening has two edges.
  • The zipper (84) is mounted on the edges of the opening. When the zipper is unfastened, the cover (83) opens and make the containing space formed by the side face (82) accessible.
  • A buzzing sound is also generated when opening or closing the zipper (84) of the conventional pocket attached to the golf bag. Furthermore, the edges of the opening on which the zipper (84) is mounted are along three sides of the cover (83), such that to fasten or unfasten the zipper (84) along the edges of the opening is difficult.
  • With reference to FIG. 12, a further conventional pocket attached to a backpack is used to contain personal accessories and comprises a cover (93) and a zipper (94).
  • The cover (93) has four sides. One side is attached to the backpack, and the other three sides respectively have an edge. An opening is defined in the cover (93) at an edge corresponding to the surface of the backpack. The opening has two edges.
  • The zipper (94) is mounted on the edges of the opening. When the zipper (94) is unfastened, the cover (93) opens and make the personal accessories contained in the cover (93) accessible conveniently.
  • However, if the cover is not completely closed, the personal accessories easily escape from the pocket and the pocket is not aesthetic in appearance.
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a magnetic sealing pocket to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main objective of the invention is to provide a magnetic sealing pocket that is quiet and easy to use. The magnetic sealing pocket in accordance with the present invention comprises a pocket and two sealing ridges.
  • The pocket has an opening. The opening has two edges.
  • The two sealing ridge are mounted respectively on the two edges of the opening of the pocket and are used to seal the opening. The two sealing ridges comprise a magnetic material.
  • Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • With reference to FIG. 1, a first embodiment of a magnetic sealing pocket in accordance with the present invention is a cubic pocket, may be made of cloth and comprises a rectangular base (11), a cover (13) and a side face (12).
  • The base (11) has four sides.
  • The cover (13) extends from one side of the base (11) and has an edge. A tab (132) attaches to a distal portion of the edge.
  • The side face (12) has two edges. One is attached to the base (11) and surrounds three sides of the base (11) except the side from which the cover (13) extends. The other edge corresponds to the edge of the cover (13). An opening is defined between the corresponding edges of the cover (13) and the side face (12). The opening has two edges.
  • With further reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, each edge on the side face (12) and the cover (13) comprises a hollow sealing ridge (121) (131) and a magnetic material (133). The two sealing ridges (121) (131) are used to seal the opening.
  • The sealing ridges (121) (131) are formed respectively along the corresponding edges on the side face (12) and the cover (13). The ridges (121) (131) may be made of plastic or cloth, preferably made of velvet.
  • The magnetic material (133) is made of magnetic powders with gel and is stuffed inside the hollow sealing ridges (121) (131). With the attraction between the magnetic material (133) in the sealing ridges (121) (131), the opening between the side face (12) and the cover (13) is closed.
  • With further reference to FIG. 4, when the tab (132) is pulled, the cover (13) can be partially or completely opened in convenient to make objects contained inside the pocket be accessible. To open the opening throughout the whole edges of the opening is not necessary, so that the use of the pocket is convenient and versatile.
  • With the magnetic attraction between the magnetic materials (133) inside the sealing ridges (121) (131), the cover (13) will automatically close when the tab (132) on the cover (13) is released. If the cover (13) is completely opened, the distance between the sealing ridges (121) (131) is enlarged. Due to the enlarged distance, the magnetic attraction between the magnetic materials (133) is not powerful enough to close the cover (13) automatically and the pocket is kept at an open condition for the user to conveniently trim or pick the objects inside the pocket. When the cover (13) is slightly pushed near the side face (12), the cover (13) automatically closes the pocket with the attraction of the magnetic material (133).
  • With reference to FIG. 5, a second embodiment of a magnetic sealing pocket in accordance with the present invention has a structure similar to that of the first embodiment except that
  • the magnetic material inside the sealing ridge (231) comprises multiple magnetic blocks (233).
  • A gap (234) is formed between each pair of adjacent magnetic blocks (233), which makes the ridge (231) bendable and allows the cover (23) to be partially opened.
  • With reference to FIG. 6, a third embodiment of a magnetic sealing pocket in accordance with the present invention has a structure similar to that of the first embodiment, except that
  • the third embodiment further comprises a net retainer (341) mounted between the side face (12) and cover (13) to keep the cover (13) from being completely opened.
  • With reference to FIGS. 7A and 7B, a forth embodiment of a magnetic sealing pocket in accordance with the present invention attached to a backpack is used to contain personal accessories and comprises a cover (41), a base (42), a pivotal hinge (43), and two sealing ridges (411) (421).
  • The cover (41) has an edge.
  • The base (42) has an edge corresponding to the edge of the cover (41). An opening is defined between the edges of the cover (41) and the base (42). The opening has two edges.
  • The sealing ridges (411) (421) are formed respectively on the edges of the opening. The sealing ridges (411) (421) are hollow and each contains a magnetic material inside. The magnetic material is made of magnetic powders with gel and is stuffed in the sealing ridge (411) (421).
  • The pivotal hinge (43) is mounted between the cover (41) and base (42) to pivotally connect the cover (41) with the base (42).
  • To open the magnetic sealing pocket, the ridges (411) (421) on the opening have to be pulled away. When the pocket is partially opened, the magnetic attraction of the magnetic material in the sealing ridges (411) (421) draws the cover (41) to close back when the cover (41) is released.
  • In addition, the sealing ridges (411) (421) provide a cushion effect to prevent annoying sounds like buzzing noises from occurring.
  • As shown in FIG. 8, the first embodiment of the magnetic sealing pocket can be applied to a golf bag and serves as an accessory container that is convenient in use.
  • As shown in FIG. 9, the forth embodiment of the magnetic sealing pocket is applied to a backpack and serves as a container for rapidly accessing to personal accessories.
  • Accordingly, the magnetic sealing pocket can automatically close and provides a tidy appearance to prevent the possibility of losing personal possessions.
  • Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims (9)

1. A magnetic seal pocket comprising
a pocket having
an opening having two edges; and
two sealing ridges formed respectively on the two edges of the opening of the pocket and comprising
a magnetic material held inside in the sealing ridges.
2. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pocket comprises a cover and a base jointed with the cover by a pivotal hinge.
3. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 1, wherein the magnetic material is a bendable magnetic material.
4. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 3, wherein the bendable magnetic material comprises magnetic powders combined with gel.
5. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 1, wherein the magnetic material comprises multiple magnetic blocks.
6. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one of the sealing ridges is bendable.
7. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 6, wherein at least one of the two sealing ridges is made of plastic.
8. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 6, wherein at least one of the two sealing ridges is made of cloth.
9. The magnetic sealing pocket as claimed in claim 8, wherein at least one of the two sealing ridges is made of velvet.
