Abstract

A riveting kit for an eyelet has a molding base and a pressing shaft. The molding base has top face, a positioning shaft erecting on the molding base and an annular groove defined on the top face around the positioning shaft. The positioning shaft has a tapered end to penetrate a cloth piece and the eyelet until the eyelet rests on the molding base. The pressing shaft presses the eyelet to deform edges of the eyelet within the annular groove so that the eyelet is firmly fixed on the cloth piece. Thereby, attachment of the eyelet is easily, rapidly and conveniently achieved.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a riveting kit, and more particularly to a riveting kit that enables to achieve a DIY (Do It Yourself) combination of an eyelet.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Generally, an eyelet is attached to cloth, leather or belt for decoration or to permit the attachment of cords or lines for convenient fastening.
  • However, the attachment of the eyelet has to be achieved by skilled craftsman so that person without training can not achieve the attachment of the eyelet by self and manufacturing cost greatly increases. Because it is hard to find a craftsman now, wage of the craftsman is correspondingly high. Additionally, the craftsman may not want to accept the job of eyelet since the job is getting rare.
  • According to above description, the conventional way to attach the eyelet can not be done by non-skilled craftsmen so that clothing designers or homemaker hardly uses the eyelet themselves.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A main objective of the present invention is to provide a riveting kit for an eyelet that enables a non-skilled to achieve an eyelet attachment by self.
  • To achieve the foregoing objective, the riveting kit for an eyelet comprises:
  • a molding base having a pedestal with a top face, a positioning shaft erecting on the top face of the pedestal, an annular groove defined around the positioning shaft on the top face of the pedestal, wherein the positioning shaft has a distal end and is tapered to the distal end; and
  • a pressing shaft operationally engaging the positioning shaft and having a recess accommodating the positioning shaft and a shallow annular groove defined on the pressing shaft around the recess;
  • wherein, the eyelet is clamped between the molding base and the pressing shaft when an attachment of the eyelet is performed.
  • By simply pushing the pressing shaft to the molding base, the eyelet is deformed at edges to secure on a cloth piece or leather in a convenient way so that users without training still can do the attachment of the eyelet by themselves.
  • Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a riveting kit for an eyelet in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an operational perspective view of the riveting kit in FIG. 1, wherein the eyelet is attached to a cloth piece;
  • FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the riveting kit as shown in FIG. 2;
  • FIG. 4 is an operational perspective view of a punching shaft that makes holes on the cloth piece; and
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the cloth piece combined with multiple eyelets.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • A riveting kit for an eyelet in accordance with the present invention comprises a molding base and a pressing shaft. The molding base has a top face, a positioning shaft erecting on the molding base and an annular groove defined on the top face around the positioning shaft.
  • With reference to FIG. 1, an eyelet 10 cooperated with the riveting kit in accordance with the present invention is a tube 11 with a through hole 13 and has a top end, a bottom end, a flange 12 formed at the top end and an edge portion 14 formed at the bottom end.
  • With further reference to FIG. 2, a preferred embodiment of the riveting kit for the eyelet comprises a molding base 20, a pressing shaft 30 and an optional punching shaft 40.
  • The molding base 20 has a cylindrical pedestal 21 with a top face, a positioning shaft 22 erecting at a center on the top face of the cylindrical pedestal 21, and an annular groove 211 defined on the top face around the positioning shaft 22, wherein the annular groove 211 matches the edge potion 14 of the eyelet 10. Moreover, the positioning shaft 22 has a distal end and is tapered to the distal end.
  • The pressing shaft 30 (as shown in FIG. 1) has a bottom end and a recess 31 defined at the bottom end to engage the positioning shaft 22 on the molding base 20. Moreover, a shallow annular groove 32 is defined on the bottom around the recess 31 (as shown in FIG. 3).
  • With reference to FIG. 4, the punching shaft 40 has a tapered end 41 to penetrate a cloth piece 50 easily so as to make holes 51 on the cloth piece 50.
  • When the riveting kit is used to attach an eyelet on the cloth piece 50, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the cloth piece 50 is flatted on a soft pad or tautened at a horizontal position to allow the punching shaft. 40 punching holes 51 on the cloth piece 50 (shown in FIG. 4). Then, the positioning shaft 22 penetrates the hole 51 on the cloth piece 50 until the cloth piece 50 rests on the top face of the pedestal 21 of the molding base 20 (as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3). Next, the eyelet 10 engages the positioning shaft 22 via the through hole 13 and passes through the hole 51 on the cloth piece 50 until the edge portion 14 abuts the annular groove 211 on the pedestal 21 of the molding base 20. After resting the eyelet 10 on the molding base 20, the recess 31 of the pressing shaft 30 engages the positioning shaft 20 to make the shallow annular groove 32 to match with the flange 12 of the tube 11 (as shown FIG. 3). By pushing the pressing shaft 30 to the molding base 20, the edge portion 14 of the eyelet 10 enrolls outward along the annular groove 211 because of pushing force to perform an enrolled edge 140 that clamps the cloth piece with the flange 12. Lastly, the pressing shaft 30 and the molding base 20 are removed and the attachment of the eyelet 10 is achieved (as shown in FIG. 5).
  • According to above description, the riveting kit in the present invention conveniently attaches the eyelet 10 to the cloth piece by simply pushing the pressing shaft 30 to the molding base 20 until the enrolled edge 140 is formed. Therefore, the attachment of the eyelet 10 is easy and convenient even the user is not skilled.
  • Although this invention has been described in its preferred form with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the present invention of the preferred form has been made only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts any be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
