Abstract
A treadmill including: a base seat, a first bracket and a second bracket being respectively pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the base seat, a damper being disposed between a middle section of each second bracket and a rear end of the base seat; and two tread boards, top ends of the first brackets being respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the tread boards, top ends of the second brackets being respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the tread boards. When treading the tread boards of the treadmill, a forward travel is achieved. Therefore, a user can use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward.
Description
- The present invention is related to a treadmill in which two brackets are pivotally connected between each of the tread boards and the base seat. Therefore, a forward travel is achieved when treading the tread boards. This enables a user to use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward.

FIG. 5 shows a conventional treadmill including a substantially I-shaped base seat 71, acolumn 72 upward extending from a front end of thebase seat 71 and twotread boards 73 respectively pivotally connected with two lateral sides of thecolumn 72. A bottom side of eachtread board 73 is connected to afront base beam 711 of thebase seat 71 via anoil cylinder 74. A user can tread thetread boards 73 to exercise. In addition, acoupler 75 is mounted on thecolumn 72 between the twotread boards 73, whereby the twotread boards 73 can repeatedly circularly operate. Thecoupler 75 is controllable by anadjustment unit 76. - Referring to
FIG. 6 , thetread boards 73 of the conventional treadmill can only swing up and down. Therefore, a user's feet can simply mark time without marching. Under such circumstance, the knees of the user'slegs 77 will bear great compression and tend to get hurt. - It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a treadmill in which two brackets are pivotally connected between each of the tread boards and the base seat. Therefore, a forward travel is achieved when treading the tread boards. Accordingly, a user can use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward. Also, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced.
- According to the above object, the treadmill of the present invention includes: abase seat, a first bracket and a second bracket being respectively pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the base seat, a damper being disposed between a middle section of each second bracket and a rear end of the base seat; and two tread boards, top ends of the first brackets being respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the tread boards, top ends of the second brackets being respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the tread boards.
- The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a perspective exploded view of the present invention; -

FIG. 3 is a side view of the present invention, showing the use thereof in a first state; -
FIG. 4 is a side view of the present invention, showing the use thereof in a second state; -

FIG. 6 is a side view of the conventional treadmill, showing the use thereof. - Please refer to
FIGS. 1 and 2 . The treadmill of the present invention includes a substantially I-shaped base seat 1 having afront beam 11, arear beam 13 and aconnecting beam 12 connected between the front andrear beams - Respectively via a
first shaft 23 and asecond shaft 24, afirst bracket 21 and asecond bracket 22 are pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the connectingbeam 12 of the base seat 1. Adamper 3 is disposed between a middle section of eachsecond bracket 22 and therear beam 13 of the base seat 1. In this embodiment, thedamper 3 includes apneumatic cylinder 31 having anextensible piston rod 32. One end of thepneumatic cylinder 31 is pivotally connected with therear beam 13 of the base seat 1. One end of thepiston rod 32 is pivotally connected with the middle section of thesecond bracket 22 via a shaft member 33. - A
column 4 upward extends from a middle section of thefront beam 11. Thecolumn 4 has aguide wheel 41 on which a guide cord 42 is wound. Two ends of the guide cord 42 are respectively fixed on the middle sections of thesecond brackets 22. Theguide wheel 41 is controllable by anadjustment member 43. - The treadmill of the present invention further includes two
tread boards 51. Asupport bar 52 is disposed under eachtread board 51. The top ends of thefirst brackets 21 are respectively pivotally connected under front ends of thesupport bars 52 via twofirst pins 53. The top ends of thesecond brackets 22 are respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of thesupport bars 52 via twosecond pins 54. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , when a user'sfeet 6 tread thetread boards 51, the downward applied force will make one of thetread boards 51 obliquely move toward therear beam 13 to reach a lowest end of the travel. On the other hand, theother tread board 51 is guided by the guide cord 42 wound on theguide wheel 41 to obliquely move toward thefront beam 11 and reach a highest end of the travel. Accordingly, the twotread boards 51 can continuously move and march as the user'sfeet 6 naturally step forward. Therefore, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced and the user can exercise more. In addition, by means of screwing or unscrewing theadjustment member 43, the position of theguide wheel 41 can be adjusted to change the force necessary for treading down thetread boards 51. The guide cord 42 of theguide wheel 41 serves to guide thetread boards 51 to repeatedly circularly operate for achieving exercising effect to different extents. - According to the above arrangement, the brackets are pivotally connected between the tread boards and the base seat to achieve a forward travel when treading the tread boards. Accordingly, a user can use the treadmill just like the user naturally steps forward. Also, the compression exerted onto the user's knees is reduced.
- The above embodiment is only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiment can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
Claims (6)
1. A treadmill comprising:
a base seat, a first bracket and a second bracket being respectively pivotally mounted on each of two lateral sides of a front section of the base seat, a damper being disposed between a middle section of each second bracket and a rear end of the base seat; and
two tread boards, top ends of the first brackets being respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the tread boards, top ends of the second brackets being respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the tread boards.
2. The treadmill as claimed in claim 1 , wherein bottom ends of the first and second brackets are respectively pivotally connected with the base seat via a first shaft and a second shaft.
3. The treadmill as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a column upward extends from the front end of the base seat, the column having a guide wheel, an adjustment member and a guide cord wound on the guide wheel, two ends of the guide cord being respectively fixed on the middle sections of the second brackets, the guide wheel being controllable by an adjustment member.
4. The treadmill as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the base seat is substantially I-shaped, including a front beam, a rear beam and a connecting beam connected between the front and rear beams.
5. The treadmill as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the damper is a pneumatic cylinder having an extensible piston rod, one end of the pneumatic cylinder being pivotally connected with the rear beam of the base seat, one end of the piston rod being pivotally connected with the middle section of the second bracket via a shaft member.
6. The treadmill as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a support bar is disposed under each tread board, the top ends of the first brackets being respectively pivotally connected under front ends of the support bars via two first pins, the top ends of the second brackets being respectively pivotally connected under middle sections of the support bars via two second pins.
