Abstract

A beauty appliance that will first saturate the hair with setting lotion; this will allow the combs and brushes to move through the hair freely. Then, the hair will be set onto rollers and then, the hair will be dried. The hair dryer/setter will be equipped with two storage tanks; one for the liquid and one for the hair rollers. The outside of the helmet will be designed with an opening in the front of the helmet that is the same circumference and roundness of the helmet that will allow for the brush/comb insert to be inserted and removed. The inside of the helmet will be equipped with spray mist vents to be placed throughout the inside of the helmet to evenly wet the hair and chutes which distribute the hair rollers to the combs & brushes. The miniature combs and brushes will be configured to work together to comb/brush the hair and to hold the rollers in place as they are rolled onto the hair. The beauty appliance will be equipped with knob settings that will set quantity of setting lotion and adjustment of the combs & brushes to be set according to length of hair.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The “J2000” is an improvement of the current hair dryer. This invention not only dries the hair: the “J2000” combs the hair, then sets the hair on rollers for you. Hair maintenance for women has been a time tedious and expensive task for many years. Years ago, the only tools women had available were the comb and brush. Some years later Madame C. J. Walker invented the pressing comb. Somewhere along the may hair rollers were invented. Then some brilliant inventor came up with the curling iron. But, all of these are manual tools. In using any of these previous inventions you had to use your hands or else pay someone else to do it for you. Other ideas that went on to be very successful are the hand-held blow dryer and comb attachments were added later. Also the portable cap hair dryer soft cap or the hard helmet. The convenience with the soft cap was that you could sleep while drying your hair. But none of these have the convenience that the “J2000” has in setting hair on rollers then drying the hair for you. Curling irons, hand-held blow dryers, hair rollers and even money spent going to the beauty shop: will all be a thing of the past.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The “J2000” is an improvement on the current invention the Hair Dryer. The helmet of the hair dryer should be made of clear see-through plastic. This will allow viewing of hair roller storage area and setting lotion area. Along the bottom of the helmet about 6 inches from the edge is an opening where the brush/comb attachment is inserted. The inside of the helmet should be made as usual with the addition of inner tubes or chutes to allow for distribution of the hair rollers. Tubes for distribution of the setting lotion should be added as well. They should not be left hanging down inside the helmet; as this will interfere with the function of the dryer/setter. Spray mist vents should be installed at the end of the tubes distributing the setting lotion. There needs to be at least 8 spray/mist vents installed. Six vents down the inside middle of the helmet; and one on the left and right inside. Surrounding the outside of the spray mist vents should be the chutes for the hair rollers. There should be at least six roller chutes in the middle. Two chutes on each side.
The brush/comb attachment should be the same size in diameter as the dryer helmet. The outer circle of the brush/comb attachment should be made of durable heat resistant plastic. Connected to the outside of the insert on both sides should be rollers to allow the inset to be taken in and out for proper function of the dryer/setter. Within the outer circle of the insert should be another ring of durable heat resistant, rust resistant steel. On one end of the ring should be installed six 4 in. retractable extensions with a crank extending out to the side about 1 in. with 1½ in. brushes attached to the ends. On the other end of the circle should be six more 4 in. extensions also with retractable extensions and crank with 1½ in. combs attached to the ends. On the outer ring there should be a 12 in×2 in handle that fits around the inset that's made of durable heat resistant plastic; to allow for easy handling of insert. The retractable extensions and cranks move up and down to allow for hair rollers to be set onto short hair to medium/long length hair.
There will be three knob settings at the base of the neck of the dryer/setter. One knob setting for adjusting of comb/brush insert for length of hair. The setting will read: Short - - - Short/Medium - - - Medium/Long. But, the user should note that this should not be used on hair longer than shoulder length. The next knob setting will be for temperature setting: Cool - - - Warm - - - Hot. The last knob setting will be for time limit: 15 min. - - - 30 min. - - - 45 min. - - - 60 min.

This is a full view of the “J2000”; looking at it from the front. The pink round helmet is the storage area for the hair rollers and the setting lotion. The bottom edge of the helmet has an opening for inserting the Brush/Comb Attachment. The brush/comb attachment inserts in the front of the helmet and fits to the full diameter of the helmet. The knob settings are located at the base of the neck of the “J2000”. There are settings for the length of the hair, for the temperature and for time desired to dry the hair.

This is a closer view of the storage area. The hair rollers are stored on one side; the setting lotion on the other side. The helmet should be made of clear hard durable plastic. The color is pink. The storage area for the setting lotion should hold about 3-4 quarts of liquid. The roller storage will hold rollers in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. The opening for the Brush/Comb Insert is directly beneath the storage area. It is the same diameter of the helmet's edges and allows the Brush/Comb Attachment to be fully inserted for use. The front edge of the helmet also displays the name of the invention “J2000”.

This inside view is the top of the helmet from the inside. This view shows the Roller Chutes through which the rollers will fall to be placed in the hair. There should be approximately six chutes on the left side and six on the right side. In the middle of the roller chutes are the Spray Mist Vents. These vents will distribute the setting lotion onto the hair. In addition, there will also be the dryer vents that are normally in the inside of a hair dryer.

This view shows a close view of the Brush/Comb Attachment. The attachment is full circle in diameter; with an inner circle attachment. The outer circle which is made of heat resistant plastic has an heat resistant handle that is contoured for hand held use. The inner circle has the brush/comb extensions attached. The inner circle is made of rust resistant durable steel. The extensions for the brushes and combs are made of rust resistant steel retractable coil springs that are able to extend to the various lengths of the settings.

This view shows the side of the helmet from the inside. There will be Spray Mist Vents on the side as well to make sure that all of the hair is well saturated for combing/brushing ease. There are roller chutes on the sides as well for easier access to the sides of the hair.

Claims

1. A beauty appliance that comprises a device that allows a hair dryer not only to dry hair but, also comb/brush the hair; and set on hair rollers;

A beauty appliance which comprises of a tank that holds setting lotion and able to dispense the liquid according to the settings;

The setting lotion is dispensed through several vents that have been placed throughout the inside of dryer/setter helmet.

2. A beauty appliance which comprises of a tank that holds magnetic hair rollers and is able to dispense rollers through the chutes that have been placed on the inside of the dryer/setter helmet.

3. A beauty appliance comprising a device that is able to smoothly & systematically move miniature combs/brushes that have been attached to mechanical arms;

The mechanical arms that the combs/brushes are attached to are attached to a round insert attachment which will be the same size in circumference as the appliance helmet. This will allow the brush/combs to be inserted and removed when needed;

The combs and brushes are able to comb thru the hair without tangling or pulling the hair;

The combs and brushes are able to part the hair in sections so that the rollers can be rolled onto the hair;

The combs and brushes are able to hold the rollers in place, then they will move together systematically up and down to roll the hair onto the rollers.

4. A beauty appliance that according to claims 1, 2 & 3 allows settings to be made to ensure proper dispense of setting lotion, proper handling of hair by combs/brushes according to length of hair.
