Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to a package tool, and more particularly to a stretch film dispenser, which is capable of adjustment of the tension of the film.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • A conventional stretch film dispenser includes a handle and a roller pivoted on the handle. A stretch film roll is fitted to the roller, such that user may hold the handle and package goods with the stretch film.
  • There must be a friction between the handle and the roller to provide the stretch film with a tension when it is wound on the good. As time goes by, the friction will be less and less because of wear of the handle and the roller. The stretch film dispenser can not provide the stretch with enough tension when it is wound on the good.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a stretch film dispenser, which can adjust the friction between the roller and handle.
  • To achieve the objective of the present invention, a tape dispenser includes a case and a cap. The case has a cutter and an opening thereon to receive a tape roll therein. The cap is disposed on the case to be rotated between a first position, in which the cap shields the cutter, and a second position, in which the cap unshields the cutter.
  • The secondary objective of the present invention is to provide a tape dispenser, which has a strong coupling condition between the components thereof.
  • To achieve the objective of the present invention, a stretch film dispenser includes a core member having a handle and a threaded section. A roller is provided on the core member for rotation. A brake device is provided on the core member to press the roller. An adjusting device is provided on the core member, and an elastic member between the brake device and the adjusting device having ends urging on the brake device and the adjusting device respectively. The adjusting device is moved toward or away from the brake device to compress the elastic member with various degrees, and the elastic member may urges the brake device to press the roller for providing various frictions to the roller.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a front view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a sectional view along 3-3 line of FIG. 2; and
  • FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 are sectional views in parts of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the action of the brake device.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 3, a stretch film dispenser 10 of the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a core member 20, an adjusting device 30, an elastic member 40, a brake device 50, a roller 60 and a stop member 70.
  • The core member 20, which is a tubular member, has a handle portion 22 and a coupling portion 24. A handle tube 221 is fitted to the handle portion 22 of the core member 20, and a plug 223 is inserted into an end of the handle portion 22. The coupling portion 24 has a threaded section 242 adjacent to the handle portion 22.
  • The adjusting device 30 has a hole 32 at a center and a threaded section 34 on a sidewall of the hole 32. The adjusting device 30 is screwed onto the coupling portion 24 of the core member 20 with the threaded section 34 meshed with the threaded section 242 of the coupling portion 24.
  • The elastic member 40, which is a spring in the present embodiment, is fitted to the coupling portion 24 of the core member 20 with an end thereof against the adjusting device 30.
  • The brake device 50 has a base member 52 and a friction member 54. The base member 52 is a cone member made of hard plastic, which has a through hole 522 at a center, an annular slot 526 at a rear end thereof and an outer cone surface 524 at an exterior side thereof. The base member 52 is fitted to the coupling portion 24 of the core member 20 with the slot 526 receiving an end of the elastic member 40 therein. The friction member 54, which is made of a material with high friction coefficient, such as rubber, is a cone member also having a through hole 541 at a center, an outer cone surface 543 at an exterior side and an inner cone surface 545 at an interior side. The friction member 54 is fitted to the base member 52 with the inner cone surface 545 rested on the outer cone surface 524 of the base member 52.
  • The roller 60 has a through hole 62 to be fitted to the coupling portion 24 of the core member 20 for rotation. The roller 60 has an inner cone surface 64 at a rear end rested on the outer cone surface 543 of the friction member 54 of the brake device 50.
  • The stop member 70 is inserted into the coupling portion 24 via the through hole 62 of the roller 60 and fixed to the coupling portion 24 by glue. The stop member 70 has a block 72 out of the roller 60 with a diameter greater than that of the through hole 62 of the roller 60, such that the roller 60 will not escape.
  • If user wants the stretch film with greater tension, he/she may rotate the adjusting device 30 to move it toward the brake device 50, as shown in FIG. 4. In this condition, the elastic member 40 is compressed to force the outer cone surface 543 of the friction member 54 of the brake device 50 pressing the inner cone surface 64 of the roller 60 with greater pressure. As a result, the roller 60 is rotated with greater friction and user may use the stretch film dispenser 10 of the present invention to wind the stretch film on good with greater tension. On the contrary, when user rotates the adjusting device 30 to move it away from the brake device 50, the elastic member 40 is compressed less that forces the brake device 50 pressing the roller 60 with less pressure. As a result, the roller 60 is rotated with less friction, and user may use the stretch film dispenser 10 of the present invention to wind the stretch film on good with less tension.
