Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates generally to a package tool, and more particularly to a stretch film dispenser, which is capable of adjustment of the tension of the film.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional stretch film dispenser includes a handle and a roller pivoted on the handle. A stretch film roll is fitted to the roller, such that user may hold the handle and package goods with the stretch film.
- There must be a friction between the handle and the roller to provide the stretch film with a tension when it is wound on the good. As time goes by, the friction will be less and less because of wear of the handle and the roller. The stretch film dispenser can not provide the stretch with enough tension when it is wound on the good.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a stretch film dispenser, which can adjust the friction between the roller and handle.
- To achieve the objective of the present invention, a tape dispenser includes a case and a cap. The case has a cutter and an opening thereon to receive a tape roll therein. The cap is disposed on the case to be rotated between a first position, in which the cap shields the cutter, and a second position, in which the cap unshields the cutter.
- The secondary objective of the present invention is to provide a tape dispenser, which has a strong coupling condition between the components thereof.
- To achieve the objective of the present invention, a stretch film dispenser includes a core member having a handle and a threaded section. A roller is provided on the core member for rotation. A brake device is provided on the core member to press the roller. An adjusting device is provided on the core member, and an elastic member between the brake device and the adjusting device having ends urging on the brake device and the adjusting device respectively. The adjusting device is moved toward or away from the brake device to compress the elastic member with various degrees, and the elastic member may urges the brake device to press the roller for providing various frictions to the roller.

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a front view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a sectional view along 3-3 line ofFIG. 2 ; and -
FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 are sectional views in parts of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the action of the brake device. - As shown in
FIG. 1 toFIG. 3 , astretch film dispenser 10 of the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises acore member 20, anadjusting device 30, anelastic member 40, abrake device 50, aroller 60 and astop member 70. - The
core member 20, which is a tubular member, has ahandle portion 22 and acoupling portion 24. Ahandle tube 221 is fitted to thehandle portion 22 of thecore member 20, and aplug 223 is inserted into an end of thehandle portion 22. Thecoupling portion 24 has a threadedsection 242 adjacent to thehandle portion 22. - The adjusting
device 30 has ahole 32 at a center and a threadedsection 34 on a sidewall of thehole 32. The adjustingdevice 30 is screwed onto thecoupling portion 24 of thecore member 20 with the threadedsection 34 meshed with the threadedsection 242 of thecoupling portion 24. - The
elastic member 40, which is a spring in the present embodiment, is fitted to thecoupling portion 24 of thecore member 20 with an end thereof against the adjustingdevice 30. - The
brake device 50 has abase member 52 and afriction member 54. Thebase member 52 is a cone member made of hard plastic, which has a throughhole 522 at a center, anannular slot 526 at a rear end thereof and anouter cone surface 524 at an exterior side thereof. Thebase member 52 is fitted to thecoupling portion 24 of thecore member 20 with theslot 526 receiving an end of theelastic member 40 therein. Thefriction member 54, which is made of a material with high friction coefficient, such as rubber, is a cone member also having a throughhole 541 at a center, anouter cone surface 543 at an exterior side and aninner cone surface 545 at an interior side. Thefriction member 54 is fitted to thebase member 52 with theinner cone surface 545 rested on theouter cone surface 524 of thebase member 52. - The
roller 60 has a throughhole 62 to be fitted to thecoupling portion 24 of thecore member 20 for rotation. Theroller 60 has aninner cone surface 64 at a rear end rested on theouter cone surface 543 of thefriction member 54 of thebrake device 50. - The
stop member 70 is inserted into thecoupling portion 24 via the throughhole 62 of theroller 60 and fixed to thecoupling portion 24 by glue. Thestop member 70 has ablock 72 out of theroller 60 with a diameter greater than that of the throughhole 62 of theroller 60, such that theroller 60 will not escape. - If user wants the stretch film with greater tension, he/she may rotate the adjusting
device 30 to move it toward thebrake device 50, as shown inFIG. 4 . In this condition, theelastic member 40 is compressed to force theouter cone surface 543 of thefriction member 54 of thebrake device 50 pressing theinner cone surface 64 of theroller 60 with greater pressure. As a result, theroller 60 is rotated with greater friction and user may use thestretch film dispenser 10 of the present invention to wind the stretch film on good with greater tension. On the contrary, when user rotates the adjustingdevice 30 to move it away from thebrake device 50, theelastic member 40 is compressed less that forces thebrake device 50 pressing theroller 60 with less pressure. As a result, theroller 60 is rotated with less friction, and user may use thestretch film dispenser 10 of the present invention to wind the stretch film on good with less tension.
