Abstract

Presented is a new and improved method and apparatus for keeping everyday surroundings freshened. This present invention is comprised of a dome-shape like lid with vent openings. This device enables two separate fresheners. A gel air freshener that continuously works when the dome-shaped like lid is lift, after it is place back on to the various containers, as well as when the dome shaped like lid is atop of the various containers. For example a garbage can, laundry hamper/basket, diaper pale, storage container etc. occupying a certain area in which it sits atop of the containers. Note: the first layer keeps the trash, laundry, diapers, etc from coming into contact with the gel air fragrance and mist air fragrance. It also has a manual control dial that allows a fine mists air freshener to release from the nozzle. The mist would control and eliminate stronger odors that linger in the air at the very minute that the dome-shape like lid is raise and place back down on the various containers for example a garbage can, diaper pale, laundry hamper/basket, storage container etc.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention relates to the technical field of the lids, for garbage cans indoor/outdoor, laundry baskets/hampers, diaper pales, storage containers and destroying odors. Currently in everyday households garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales and storage containers, are constantly in use morning, noon, and night. Each time the lids are lift and place back down atop of the garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers especially four day old stinking garbage, dirty moist laundry, old stored clothing, soiled diapers and other things that people store, an odor is always released in the air. Even after the lid is secure on the following containers garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers etc.; the bad odor still lingers in the air. Such a system presents some practical problems as follows:
  • 1. There is a problem with odors from stinky trash in garbage cans, dirty moist laundry in laundry hamper/baskets, old clothing/summers and winter clothing, as well as other things that people like to store in storage containers, (soiled diapers in diaper pales exposed to the air in particular warm climates). Indoor/outdoor and closed in areas like bedrooms, laundry rooms, back porch, bathrooms, basements, kitchens etc. all present a problem with odors.
  • 2. There is a problem when different mixtures of trash in garbage cans, dirty laundry in laundry hampers/baskets, and soiled diapers in diaper pales are temporarily stored for various periods of time depending on the household's preference and the stored items exposure to the air. The lids of all the containers specified above only muffle the smell. There are only lids made to stifle odor by covering them up, but not to remedy odors that still linger in the air after each use of containers such as garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers etc.
  • 3. There is a problem when flies and other insects are attracted to stored garbage, dirty laundry, and soiled diapers when foul stinky odors surface.
  • 4. There is a problem at times foul stinky odors are so strong that people are reluctant to touch garbage can lids, diaper pale lids, laundry hamper/basket lids, storage container lids etc.
  • 5. There is a problem because the foul stinky odors from the garbage cans, diaper pales, and storage containers can be very unhealthy on day-to-day bases, and make a family's household members very sick when being exposed to the lingering foul odors from various containers.
  • 6. A need exists to develop and improved, easily used technique for monitoring unhealthy strong foul odors and destroying them. Many attempts have been made to do this including U.S. Pat. No. 3,346,140 to Sidney C. Mele issued Oct. 10, 1967 a deodorant holder for a diaper pail which fit in the lids. U.S. Pat. No. 4,427,110 to Kenneth N. Shaw Jr. issued Jan. 24, 1984 a diaper canister having a replaceable deodorant receptacle in the lid. U.S. Pat. No. 3,102,661 to Wilbur V. Lundquit issued Sep. 3, 1963 a garbage can having a deodorizing substance built into the lid. U.S. Pat. No. 2,802,590 to Earl S. Tupper issued Aug. 13, 1957 a garbage can lid having a scent dispenser U.S. Pat. No. Des. 431,888 to it. Richard Roundebush issued Oct. 10, 2000 a diaper pail and lid. U.S. Pat. No. 26,200,228 to Newell L. Howard, Elmhurst and Oscar L. Engstrom issued Dec. 2, 1952 a garbage can having a deodorant dispenser attached to the lid. However, these prior concepts have not fulfilled this need.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. The object of the present invention is to provide a compound lid for masking/overcoming obnoxious odors by releasing a more pleasant fragrance into the air after each use of a variety of containers. For instance garbage cans indoor/outdoor, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales and storage containers because the lids that sit atop of the following containers are constantly in use morning, noon, and night. Each time the lids are lift and place back down atop of the various containers. The present invention concentrates on destroying the odors, as they release in the air and still linger.
  • 2. To provide an improved, more efficient lid to accommodate an array of containers including garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales and storage containers where stinky trash, dirty moist laundry and soiled diapers etc. are temporarily stored. I note that the lids can be designed in variety of shapes and sizes to accommodate it's placement atop containers like garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers. In addition, I note that the present invention can be made of a molded plastic from a durable weatherproof material such as polyethylene of fiberglass.
  • 3. The main modification of the present invention product would deal with the inclusion of the gel air freshener that would release from the lid's vent opening in the air. Additionally, the mist air freshener that would release from a nozzle located in the manual control dial in the air.
  • 4. This invention allows two separate and distinct scented media to interface with the air, and there by disperse alternately or simultaneously, (creating a stronger scent) depending on the operators preference, one being the gel air freshener and the other being the mist air freshener.
  • 5. With the air fresheners and vents incorporated in the lid, households will be more prone to handle the variety of containers when the lid is place atop the garbage cans, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales and storage containers.
  • 6. Furthermore, we all note a pleasant scent is defiantly healthier coming from a garbage cans, laundry hamper/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers than a foul odor that will not go away even after the lid has been placed back on the container tightly.
  • 7. To provide an improved invention built inside a dome-shape like lid with incorporated vents for the gel air freshener to release and a manual control dial for release of the mist air freshener.
  • 8. This invention is universal and can be used for several different containers such as garbage cans indoor/outdoor, laundry hampers/baskets, diaper pales, and storage containers etc.
  • 9. If you waste something on the lid, just take it right off of the various containers, throughout a home, in a business etc. and wash it. Hose it down if you would like to, because there is nothing built inside the invention that runs by battery or electricity, nor does it need a microchip. Not to mention everything on this invention is permanently attached to one another for example by snap fit, an adhesive, or by welding together. All except for two parts, they are permanently attached but are moveable. One is the rear sliding entry door and the other is the knob located atop of the ball part of the pivot joint.
  • 10. I note that part of the present invention; more specifically the gel and mist air fragrances spray, when used outdoors, for instance the park, picnics, yards, and indoor/outdoor front/back porches, instead of the ordinary fragrance can be made as insect repellant devices when used in the present invention (to ward off mosquitoes and flies). In addition, I would like to highlight the fact that in this present invention this repellant would work the same way as the gel and mist air fragrance.
  • 11. I note that the gel pack and mist air fragrance can be produced in a plethora of fragrances including citrus, pine, mountain, ocean, baby powder, rose garden and many more for indoors. In addition, for outdoors the gel pack and mist air fragrance can be made into many different fragrance pesticides.
  • 12. I do not know of anything that can muffle a stinking odor when the lid is lift but once it is place back on various containers, the present invention will take care of the lingering odor problem.
