Abstract
A hex wrench storage device includes a body having a first face and a second face opposite to the first face. The first face forms a plurality of receiving recesses having different width for receiving a plurality of hex wrenches having different sizes. The hex wrench storage device further includes a plurality of press devices mounted on the receiving recesses so that the hex wrenches are positioned in the receiving recesses without falling.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a device for storing hex wrenches and more particularly to such a hex wrench storage device that can firmly hold hex wrenches therein.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional wrench storage device comprises a wrench insertion recess for mounting a wrench. The wrench insertion recess has an upper section and a lower section each formed with a clamping snap for positioning the wrench in the wrench insertion recess. However, the clamping snap of the lower section of the wrench insertion recess only clamps the two sides of the wrench, so that the lower end of the wrench easily slips from the clamping snap of the lower section of the wrench insertion recess, and the wrench easily falls onto the ground.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hex wrench storage device, wherein the hex wrench will not fall easily when being taken.
- Another objective of the present invention is to provide a hex wrench storage device, wherein the hex wrenches are individually taken easily.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is an object of the present invention to provide a hex wrench storage device, which comprises two bodies each having a first face and a second face opposite to the first face. The first face forms a plurality of receiving recesses having different width for receiving a plurality of hex wrenches having different sizes. Each of the receiving recesses has a first opening and a second opening at two ends thereof. The hex wrench storage device further comprises a plurality of press devices each including an upright plate and two press plates. The upright plate is extended outward from a center of an outer side of any two first openings of the first face of the body. The two press plates are extended from a top of the upright plate in two opposite directions. Each of the two press plates is respectively located at a position above the first face and extended toward the first opening of the respective receiving recess corresponding to the upright plate.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a hex wrench storage device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a plan view of the hex wrench storage device according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the hex wrench storage device taken along line A-A as shown inFIG. 2 . -
FIG. 4 is a schematic operational view of the hex wrench storage device as shown inFIG. 3 . - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a hex wrench storage device 1 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising afirst body 10 and asecond body 20 having the same structure with a different size, a connectingmember 2 pivotally connected between thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20, and a plurality ofpress devices 30. Each of thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20 has afirst face 11 and asecond face 12 opposite to thefirst face 11. Thefirst face 11 has a plurality ofbaffles 13 forming a plurality of receivingrecesses 14 having different width for receiving a plurality ofhex wrenches 40 having different sizes. Each of thereceiving recesses 14 has afirst opening 15 and asecond opening 16 at two ends thereof. Each of thepress devices 30 has anupright plate 31 and twopress plates 32. Theupright plate 31 is extended outward from a center of an outer side of any twofirst openings 15 of thefirst face 11 of each of thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20. Each of the twopress plates 32 is made of a soft elastomer. The twopress plates 32 are extended from the top of theupright plate 31 in two opposite directions. Each of the twopress plates 32 is respectively located at a position above thefirst face 11 and extended toward thefirst opening 15 of therespective receiving recess 14 corresponding to theupright plate 31. Each of the twopress plates 32 and theupright plate 31 of each of thepress devices 30 have an included angle greater than 90 degrees or equal to 120 degrees, so that the distance between the tworespective press plates 32 of any twopress devices 30 is smaller than two third of the width of therespective receiving recess 14. Eachsecond opening 16 has twocatch plates 33 each made of a soft elastomer. The twocatch plates 33 are located at two sides of the second opening 16 of each of the receivingrecesses 14. Each of the twocatch plates 33 has a front end which is extended toward thesecond opening 16, so that the distance between the fronts ends of the twocatch plates 33 is smaller than two third of the width of therespective receiving recess 14. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , each of the receivingrecesses 14 of thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20 has a lower section having adepression 17 at thefirst opening 15. When the upper end of thehex wrench 40 is taken, the lower end of thehex wrench 40 is inclined toward thedepression 17, so that thehex wrench 40 forms a better angle to facilitate a user taking thehex wrench 40. In addition, the distance between the tworespective press plates 32 at thefirst opening 15 is smaller than two third of the width of therespective receiving recess 14. Thus, when thehex wrench 40 slips from the user's hand during the taking process, thehex wrench 40 is stopped by the tworespective press plates 32, thereby preventing thehex wrench 40 from falling onto the ground. - Accordingly, each of the
receiving recesses 14 of thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20 has adepression 17 to provide a better taking angle to thehex wrench 40. In addition, when the user does not hold the upper end of thehex wrench 40 stably and the upper end of thehex wrench 40 is inclined forward and downward, thehex wrench 40 is supported by thepress devices 30 of thefirst opening 15 of each of the receivingrecesses 14. Thus, even when thehex wrench 40 is inclined relative to thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20, thehex wrench 40 will not fall from thefirst body 10 and thesecond body 20, thereby overcoming the drawbacks of conventional hex wrench storage device, and thereby facilitating the user taking thehex wrench 40.
