Abstract

A gas control knob for a gas stove includes a main body having a gas chamber connected between a gas inlet hole and a gas outlet hole, a throttling cock rotatably mounted in the main body to regulate a gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber, and an electromagnetic valve mounted on the main body to control connection between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body. Thus, the electromagnetic valve is operated to open or close the fire automatically after the rotation lever is rotated to a determined extent, thereby facilitating a user opening or closing the fire of the gas stove.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a gas control knob, and more particularly to a gas control knob for a gas stove or range.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • A conventional gas control knob for a gas stove comprises a main body, an end cap mounted on the main body, a throttling cock rotatably mounted in the main body to regulate the gas flow rate, a rotation lever rotatably mounted on the end cap and connected to the throttling cock to control movement of the throttling cock so as to regulate the gas flow rate, and a handle secured on the rotation lever to rotate the rotation lever. However, the user has to rotate the rotation lever successively to open the fire, regulate the gas flow rate of the gas stove and to close the fire, thereby greatly causing inconvenience to the user.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a gas control knob, comprising a main body having a gas inlet hole, a gas outlet hole and a gas chamber connected between the gas inlet hole and the gas outlet hole, a throttling cock rotatably mounted in the main body and located between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber of the main body to regulate a gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber of the main body, and an electromagnetic valve mounted on the main body and located between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body to control connection between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body.
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a gas control knob that is operated in a semi-automatic manner, thereby saving the manual work.
  • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a gas control knob, wherein the electromagnetic valve is operated to open or close the fire automatically after the rotation lever is rotated to a determined extent, thereby facilitating a user opening or closing the fire of the gas stove.
  • A further objective of the present invention is to provide a gas control knob, wherein the user only needs to operate the electromagnetic valve to open or close the fire without having to rotate the rotation lever successively, thereby facilitating the user controlling the fire of the gas stove.
  • Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a gas control knob for a gas stove in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main body 10 having a gas inlet hole 12, a gas outlet hole 13 and a gas chamber 14 connected between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas outlet hole 13, a throttling cock 16 rotatably mounted in the main body 10 and located between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14 of the main body 10 to regulate a gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14 of the main body 10, an electromagnetic valve 20 mounted on the main body 10 and located between the gas chamber 14 and the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10 to control connection between the gas chamber 14 and the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10, an end cap 17 mounted on the main body 10 to limit the throttling cock 16, and a rotation lever 18 rotatably mounted in the end cap 17 and having a first end secured to the throttling cock 16 to rotate the throttling cock 16 and a second end protruding outward from the end cap 17.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-7, the main body 10 has a bottom formed with an outwardly extended pipe 11 which is inserted into a gas line 1 and has a lower end formed with a screw bore 110, and a screw member 2 is screwed into the screw bore 110 of the pipe 11 of the main body 10 and rested on the gas line 1 to secure the main body 10 to the gas line 1. The gas inlet hole 12 is formed in the pipe 11 and connected to the gas line 1. The gas chamber 14 is formed in a top of the main body 10. The main body 10 has an inside formed with a mounting hole 15 connected between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14. The throttling cock 16 is rotatably mounted in the mounting hole 15 of the main body 10 and has a throttling hole that can adjust the connection area between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14 by rotation of the throttling cock 16 so as to regulate the gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14 of the main body 10. The electromagnetic valve 20 is mounted on the top of the main body 10 and has a top provided with an electrical connection 21 which is electrically connected to an ignition control knob (not shown) of the gas stove.
  • In operation, the throttling cock 16 is rotated by the rotation lever 18 to control the gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole 12 and the gas chamber 14 of the main body 10 so that the gas enters the gas chamber 14 from the gas inlet hole 12. Then, the electromagnetic valve 20 and the ignition control knob are operated by a pressing action or by a remote control action to open the connection between the gas chamber 14 and the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10 so that the gas contained in the gas chamber 14 flows through the electromagnetic valve 20 into the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10 and is ignited by the ignition control knob, thereby opening the fire.
  • On the contrary, the electromagnetic valve 20 is operated by a pressing action or by a remote control action to interrupt the connection between the gas chamber 14 and the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10 so that the gas contained in the gas chamber 14 cannot flow through the electromagnetic valve 20 into the gas outlet hole 13 of the main body 10, thereby closing the fire.
  • Accordingly, the electromagnetic valve 20 is operated to open or close the fire automatically after the rotation lever 18 is rotated to a determined extent, thereby facilitating a user opening or closing the fire of the gas stove. In addition, the user only needs to operate the electromagnetic valve 20 to open or close the fire without having to rotate the rotation lever 18 successively, thereby facilitating the user controlling the fire of the gas stove.
  • Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, the pipe 11 of the main body 10 is secured to the gas line 1 in a pipe clamping manner.
  • Referring to FIGS. 10 and 11, the pipe 11 of the main body 10 is secured to the gas line 1 in a screwing manner.
  • Referring to FIGS. 12 and 13, the pipe 11 of the main body 10 is secured to the gas line 1 in a snapping manner.
  • Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims (11)

1. A gas control knob, comprising:
a main body having a gas inlet hole, a gas outlet hole and a gas chamber connected between the gas inlet hole and the gas outlet hole;
a throttling cock rotatably mounted in the main body and located between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber of the main body to regulate a gas flow rate between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber of the main body;
an electromagnetic valve mounted on the main body and located between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body to control connection between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body.
2. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, further comprising an end cap mounted on the main body to limit the throttling cock.
3. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 2, further comprising a rotation lever rotatably mounted in the end cap and having a first end secured to the throttling cock to rotate the throttling cock and a second end protruding outward from the end cap.

The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, wherein the main body has a bottom formed with an outwardly extended pipe which is inserted into a gas line and has a lower end formed with a screw bore, and the gas control knob further comprises a screw member screwed into the screw bore of the pipe of the main body and rested on the gas line to secure the main body to the gas line.
5. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 4, wherein the gas inlet hole is formed in the pipe and connected to the gas line.
6. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, wherein the gas chamber is formed in a top of the main body.
7. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, wherein the main body has an inside formed with a mounting hole connected between the gas inlet hole and the gas chamber.
8. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 7, wherein the throttling cock is rotatably mounted in the mounting hole of the main body.
9. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, wherein the electromagnetic valve is mounted on the top of the main body.
10. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 9, wherein the electromagnetic valve has a top provided with an electrical connection which is electrically connected to an ignition control knob.
11. The gas control knob in accordance with claim 1, wherein the electromagnetic valve is operated by a pressing action or by a remote control action to open or close the connection between the gas chamber and the gas outlet hole of the main body so that a gas contained in the gas chamber flows through the electromagnetic valve into the gas outlet hole of the main body.
