Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a bottle carrier device, and more particularly to a bottle carrier device for selectively attaching water bottles of various outer diameters to bicycles or cycles, or to the users.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • Typical bottle holder devices or bottle cages or bottle carriers comprise a tubular container slidably mounted in a sleeve member which includes a connecting member to link a bar of a bicycle frame to a cylindrical supporting component that holds the tubular container.
  • For example, U.S. Pat. No. 4,809,890 to Tsigadas discloses one of the typical bar mounted carriers for bicycles including a sleeve member having a connecting member for securing to the bar of the bicycle frame. However, the sleeve member includes a predetermined size or inner diameter that may be used for receiving the tubular container having the corresponding sizes or outer diameters only.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,040,709 to Neugent discloses another typical water bottle cage for bicycles including a movable clamp section adjustably attached to a fixed clamp section, for adjustably receiving and supporting the tubular containers having different sizes or outer diameters. However, the movable clamp section and the fixed clamp section include a rigid semicircular structure that may not be easily deformed, such that only the tubular containers of limited sizes or outer diameters may be clamped between the movable clamp section and the fixed clamp section.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 5,060,832 to Link discloses a further typical water bottle cage assembly including a pair of parallel outboard struts jointed by an arcuate transverse strut, and thus including a predetermined size or inner diameter that may be used for receiving the tubular container having the corresponding sizes or outer diameters only.
  • The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional bottle holder devices.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a bottle carrier device for selectively attaching water bottles of various sizes or outer diameters to bicycles or cycles, or to the users.

  • The belt member includes an end engaged around the supporting member, and folded to engage with and to secure to the belt member with a fastener member. The fastener member may be a hook-and-loop fastener member or a buckle, or the like.
  • A flexible receptacle may further be provided and may include a cylindrical shape and having a bore formed therein for receiving the container therein, and the flexible receptacle being disposed between the supporting member and the clamping member. The flexible receptacle includes at least one sleeve provided thereon for receiving the belt member, and for coupling the clamping member to the flexible receptacle.
  • The flexible receptacle includes a band attached to bottom thereof, and at least one ring engaged onto the band, for engaging with the arm of the supporting member, and for securing the flexible receptacle to the supporting member. The flexible receptacle includes a strap attached to an upper portion thereof, for carrying the flexible receptacle.
  • Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-7, a bottle carrier device in accordance with the present invention comprises a bracket or supporting member 10 including an arm 11 extended forwardly from a bottom portion thereof, for engaging with and for stably supporting water bottles or containers 80 on the supporting member 10 (FIGS. 3-4, 6-7 and 12-13). The supporting member 10 further includes a number of openings 12 formed therein.
  • A holder device 20 includes a flexible receptacle 21 having a substantially cylindrical shape and having a bore 22 formed therein for the water bottles or containers 80 therein, and includes one or more, such as two clamping members 23 engaged around the flexible receptacle 21, and threaded or engaged through the openings 12 of the supporting member 10, for attaching or clamping or securing and the flexible receptacle 21 to the supporting member 10, and for allowing the flexible receptacle 21 to be disposed or secured between the supporting member 10 and the clamping members 23.
  • For example, each of the clamping members 23 includes a belt member 24 for engaging around the flexible receptacle 21 or directly engaging around the container 80, and for threading or engaging through the openings 12 of the supporting member 10, and thus for clamping or securing the flexible receptacle 21 to the supporting member 10. The flexible receptacle 21 may include one or more sleeves 25 provided thereon for receiving the belt members 24, and for solidly attaching or coupling the clamping members 23 to the flexible receptacle 21.
  • The belt members 24 of the clamping members 23 each may include one or two ends 26 engaged over or engaged around the supporting member 10, and folded to engage with or to secure to the belt members 24 of the clamping members 23 with a fastener member 27, such as a hook-and-loop fastener member 27, for solidly and adjustably securing the flexible receptacle 21 to the supporting member 10, and thus for adjustably securing the water bottles 80 of different sizes or outer diameters to the supporting member 10 (FIGS. 3, 4).
  • Alternatively, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 5-7, the clamping members 23 each may include one or more buckles 28 attached onto the belt members 24 thereof, for engaging with the ends 26 of the belt members 24, and thus for adjustably securing the water bottles 80 of different sizes or outer diameters to the supporting member 10.
  • Further alternatively, as shown in FIGS. 8-13, without the flexible receptacle 21, the clamping members 23 each may include one or more inner flexible members 30 each having one or more sleeves 25 provided thereon for receiving the belt members 24, and for solidly attaching or coupling the clamping members 23 to the inner flexible members 30, and thus for adjustably securing the water bottles 80 of different sizes or outer diameters to the supporting member 10.
  • As shown in FIGS. 15-17, the flexible receptacle 21 may include a band 40 attached to the bottom portion thereof, and one or more, such as two rings 41, 42 engaged or attached onto the band 40, for engaging with the arm 11 of the supporting member 10, best shown in FIGS. 16, 17, and for solidly attaching or securing the flexible receptacle 21 to the supporting member 10, and thus for preventing the flexible receptacle 21 from being disengaged from the supporting member 10.
  • As shown in FIGS. 18-19, the flexible receptacle 21 may further include a strap 50 selectively attached to the upper portion thereof, for carrying the flexible receptacle 21. In addition, the strap 50 may also be disengaged from the flexible receptacle 21, and may have two ends attached or secured to the head tube 61 and a seat post 62 of a bicycle 60, for selectively carrying the bicycle 60 with the strap 50.
  • As shown in FIG. 20, the flexible receptacle 21 may also include the clamping members 23 solidly secured thereto and formed integral with the clamping members 23. As shown in FIGS. 21-22, the waist belt 70 of a user may include a tie 71 attached thereto, for threading or engaging through the openings 12 of the supporting member 10, and thus for clamping or securing the flexible receptacle 21 and the supporting member 10 to the waist belt 70 of the user.
  • It is to be noted that the flexible receptacle 21 and/or the belt members 24 and/or the inner flexible members 30 include a flexible structure for allowing the water bottles 80 of different sizes or outer diameters to be adjustably secured to the supporting member 10.
  • Accordingly, the bottle carrier device may be provided for selectively attaching water bottles of various sizes or outer diameters to bicycles or cycles, or to the users.
  • Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
