Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a table with multiple sunshades, and more particularly to a table having multiple sunshades that can be adjusted to different orientations to cover individual persons seated around the table.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Modern society pays a lot of attention to outdoor leisure activities to release pressures of work and to improve the health. Therefore, the outdoor tables are commonly found in parks, beaches, riversides, and other open spaces. With reference to
FIG. 7 , a conventional outdoor table comprises a foldable stand (50), a table board (51) mounted on the stand (50), and a sunshade (52) erecting centrally in the table board (51). When people sit around the table, the sunshade (52) provides a shade to avoid the harmful effects of direct sunlight. - However, the conventional outdoor table has the following drawbacks:
- 1. Because only one sunshade (52) is mounted on the table, the sunshade (52) must have a large size to extend completely over the table board (51) and to cover over all people seated around the table when the sunshade (52) is extended. Therefore, the table easily topples when the wind blows the sunshade (52). Moreover, the sunshade (52) having a large size is troublesome for folding and storing the table.
- 2. The sunshade (52) attached right the middle of the table can not provide desired shade to everyone around the table when the sun's rays project obliquely.
- 3. When people picnic around the table, garbage always tends to pile up on the table so that the table is in a mess all the time. For the sake of hygiene, the conventional outdoor table needs some accessories for collecting the garbage.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional outdoor table having a sunshade.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide a table with multiple sunshades that can be adjusted to different orientations to cover individual persons seated around the table.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate references to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a table with multiple sunshades in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the table with multiple sunshades inFIG. 1 ; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the table inFIG. 1 showing attachment means of bags; -
FIG. 4 is an operational cross-sectional side view of the table, wherein the garbage is dumped into one bag; -
FIG. 5 is an exploded perspective view of an adjustable joint in the present invention; -
FIG. 6 is an exploded perspective view of another embodiment of the table showing another attachment means of the bags; and -
FIG. 7 is a perspective view of an outdoor table with a sunshade in accordance with the prior art. - A table with multiple sunshades in accordance with the present invention comprises a detachable stand, a table board detachably mounted on the stand, a branched support having multiple distal ends erecting on the table board, multiple sunshades respectively attached to the multiple distal ends of the branched support and multiple adjustable joints secured between the sunshades and the distal ends. By adjustably setting multiple sunshades over the table, each sunshade can be adjusted to cover an individual person seated at the table no matter from which direction the sunshine comes. Moreover, multiple bags are attached under the table board to make the garbage gathering convenient.
- With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, a preferred embodiment of the table with multiple sunshades comprises a detachable stand (10), a table board (20), a Y-shaped branched support (30), two sunshades (32), two adjustable joints (34) and two containers such as bags (40).
- The stand (10) is composed of four curved feet (11). Each curved foot (11) has a top lateral section, a vertical section, and bottom extending section. The curved feet (11) are arranged in pairs and symmetrically combined together by attaching a connector (12) between the vertical sections of the feet (11) to compose a frame, therefore, two frames are achieved. When the stand (10) is assembled, the two frames cross with each other by wedging one end of the connector into the other connector (12). Moreover, the connector (12) on the top further has an insertion hole defined longitudinally therethrough.
- The table board (20) is a round plate with a center, a top face and a bottom face. The table board (20) has a central hole (21), four clips (22) and two through holes (24). The central hole (21) is defined at the center of the table board (20). The four clips (22) are formed on the bottom face of the table board (20) to correspondingly secure the top lateral sections of the feet on the stand (10) so that the table board (20) and the stand (10) are detachably combined together. The two through holes (24) are defined near the center of the table board (20) and each through hole (24) has a cover (242, in
FIG. 3 ). - The Y-shaped branched support (30) has an insertion end and two distal ends. The insertion end extends through the central hole (21) on the table board (20) and further extends down to engage with the uppermost connector (12) via the insertion hole of the connector (12). Thereby, the Y-shaped branched support (30) is combined to the stand (10).
- The two sunshades (32) are rotatably mounted on the two distal ends of the Y-shaped branched support (30) by the two adjustable joints (34). Therefore, the two sunshades (32) can be adjusted to different orientations to sufficiently provide shade for people seated around the table. Each adjustable joint can be an uni-directional rotating joint or preferably bi-directional rotating joints. As shown in
FIG. 5 , a preferred embodiment of the adjustable joint applied in the present invention comprises a toothed ring (342) mounted on distal end of the Y-shaped branched support, a locking collar (344) rotatably mounted around the toothed ring (342), a locking cam block (346) rotatably secured inside the locking collar (344) and a ratchet wheel (348) holding the sunshade (32) and rotatably mounted on the locking collar (344). Thereby, the sunshade (32) can be moved in two directions by operationally rotating the ratchet wheel (348) relative to the locking collar (344) and rotating the locking collar (344) round the toothed ring (342) to achieve an optimum inclination position for shading. Because this adjustable joint is conventional and replaceable, no more redundant description is shown in this specification. - The two bags (40) are attached under the table board (20) by means of an adhesive tape such as Velcro™. Each bag (40) has an opening (402) and a rigid rim (41) attached around the opening (402) to keep the opening (402) open. Preferably, the opening (402) of the bag (40) is fan-shaped to make the bag (40) fit to the space between two adjacent feet (11). As shown in
FIGS. 2 and 3 , multiple hooked sheets (42) of Velcro™ are secured on the top lateral sections of the stand (10) and drape down. Correspondingly, multiple looped sheets (44) of Velcro™ are attached to side faces of the bag (40) and engage with the hooked sheets (42) when the bag (40) is fitted into the space between the feet of the stand (10). Moreover, the suspension height of the bag (40) is adjustable and the opening (402) of the bag (40) has to align the through hole (24) on the table board (20). With reference toFIG. 4 , the garbage can be disposed of into the bag (40) via the through hole (24) to keep table clean.FIG. 6 shows another attachment method of the bag (40) and the feet (11), wherein the Velcro™ is attached to and extends along the top lateral section so that the bag (40) attaches under the table board closely. Additionally, the bag (40) can be substituted by a fan-shaped plastic can. - Features of the table with multiple sunshades in the present invention are shown in the following:
- 1. Because each sunshade covers only one person beside the table, the sunshade does not need to be of large size and can be adjusted to different orientation to provide sufficient shade for the person even when the sun's rays project obliquely.
- 2. By attaching the bag under the table and defining the through hole on the table board, garbage on the table is gathered easily and conveniently to be disposed into the bag via the through hole. Therefore, the table is kept clean all the time.
- 3. Elements of the table and the shades are foldable or detachable so that the table can be disassembled to diminish the volume for storage convenience.
- Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiments, many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
