support block 6, in which the sequin feeding mechanism mainly includes a drivingmotor 12 installed at the rear lateral portion of thesupport block 6 so as to provide a driving force for operating the sequin feeding mechanism, an actuatingarm 13, an upper end portion of which is fixedly coupled to a driving shaft of the drivingmotor 12 such that it can be rotated in the forward or backward direction corresponding to the rotation degree of the driving shaft, atransfer lever 16, which is rotatably coupled to the lower end portion of the actuatingarm 13 by means of ahinge 14 such that thetransfer lever 16 can rotatably move up and down and is provided at a front end portion thereof with afirst hook part 15, which engages with a center hole of a sequin, in order to transfer the sequins in a predetermined pitch unit according to the forward or backward action thereof when the sequins released from the reel are placed on the upper surface of the support plate 7 through theguide part 11, alock lever 18 provided at a free end portion thereof with asecond hook part 17, which can engage with the center hole of the sequin, and a locklever support block 19, which supports thelock lever 18 in such a manner that thelock lever 18 can move up and down in the vicinity of thetransfer lever 16. Herein, when thetransfer lever 16 has transferred the sequin in a predetermined pitch unit, the locklever support block 19 allows thesecond hook part 17 of thelock lever 18 to engage with the center hole of the sequin aligned next to the sequin having the center hole engaged with thefirst hook part 15 of thetransfer lever 16, thereby preventing the sequin from moving. In addition, when thetransfer lever 16 moves back after the transfer operation for the sequin, the locklever support block 19 allows thefirst hook part 15 of thetransfer lever 16 to engage with the center hole of the sequin and releases the engagement between thesecond hook part 16 of thelock lever 18 and the center hole of the sequin until the sequin is transferred again. - In addition, a
sequin cutter 20, which is used for cutting sequins one by one when the sequins are drawn from the sequin roll through the sequin feeding mechanism, is installed at a front end portion of the support plate 7 such that thesequin cutter 20 may rotatably move up and down. - The sequins released from the reel are introduced into the support plate 7 through the
guide part 11 installed at the rear side portion of thebracket 8 by means of a plurality of guide rollers. In addition, the center hole of the sequin is aligned corresponding to a slot hole of the support plate 7 by moving the position of theguide part 11 to left or right. - When the
first hook part 15 and thesecond hook part 17 formed at the front end portion of thetransfer lever 16 and thelock lever 18 engage with the center hole of the sequin placed on the support plate 7, the slot hole of the support plate 7 is adapted to receive front end portions. - The driving shaft of the driving
motor 12 protrudes out of the center part of thesupport block 6 in such a manner that the driving shaft can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise, the upper end portion of the actuatingarm 13 is fixed to the front end portion of the driving shaft using a coupling unit, and thetransfer lever 16 engaging with the center hole of the sequin is rotatably coupled to the lower end portion of the actuatingarm 13 by means of ahinge 14. - In addition, the
sequin cutter 20 for cutting one by one the sequins drawn from the sequin roll, which is provided through the sequin feeding mechanism, is mounted on the front end portion of the support plate 7 such that thesequin cutter 20 may rotatably move up and down. - In addition, one end of a fourth torsion spring (not shown) is fixed to the
sequin cutter 20 so that thesequin cutter 20 is always maintained in a retracted position because it is upwardly biased by means of the fourth torsion spring. Thesequin cutter 20 moves down in corporation with the downward movement of a needle bar so as to perform cutting work for the sequins, and is moved up to the retracted position due to the elastic force of the forth torsion spring when the needle bar is lifted up according to the completion of the cutting work for the sequins. - One end of a first torsion spring (not shown) wound around the driving shaft is fixed to the
support block 6, and the other end of the first torsion spring is coupled with the actuatingarm 13, so the actuatingarm 13 is pressed in the counterclockwise direction due to the elastic force of the first torsion spring. - One end of a second torsion spring (not shown) wound around the
hinge part 14 provided at the lower end portion of the actuatingarm 13 is fixed to the middle portion of the actuatingarm 13, and the other end of the second torsion spring is coupled with thetransfer lever 16, so thetransfer lever 16 is pressed in the clockwise direction due to the elastic force of the second torsion spring. Accordingly, thefirst hook part 15 provided at the front end portion of thetransfer lever 16 is always biased toward the support plate 7. - In addition, one end of a third torsion spring (not shown) installed in the lock
lever support block 19 mounted on an inner lower portion of thesupport block 6 is coupled with the locklever support block 19, and the other end of the third torsion spring is coupled with thelock lever 18, so thelock lever 18 is biased clockwise due to the elastic force of the third torsion spring. Accordingly, thesecond hook part 17 provided at the front end portion of thelock lever 18 is always biased toward the support plate 7. - According to the conventional sequin device disclosed in the Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication having the above structure, an elongated hole (H) must be formed in the center portion of the transfer lever so as to receive the second hook part. However, it is very difficult to precisely form the elongated hole in the center portion of the transfer lever when the transfer lever is manufactured. For this reason, the number of manufacturing processes increases, so manufacturing costs for the sequin device also increase.
- In addition, when the transfer lever is retracted in order to transfer the next sequin in the process of sequin sewing work, the lock lever is rotatably moved upward in corporation with the transfer lever. At this time, the sequin may interfere with the second hook part of the lock lever, which is being rotatably moved upward, so that the sequin may be slightly dragged backward, so it is necessary to frequently adjust or change the mechanical setting values in order to feed the sequins onto an accurate position, which may cause inconvenience to workers.
- In addition, the second hook part of the lock lever may be worn out when the sequin device has been used for a long time, so it is difficult to firmly support the sequin hole when the sequins are cut by the sequin cutter. In this case, the sequin is excessively moved toward the sequin cutter because a needle pulls the sequin, so the sequin may be abnormally cut. In addition, when the error occurs in the sequin device, it is difficult to easily repair the sequin device due to its complex structure, so the productivity of the sequin device may be lowered.
- In order to solve the above problems, applicant of the present invention has filed a patent application disclosing the
sequin device 5 having the structure shown inFIG. 3 with Korean Intellectual Property Office, which is now registered as Korean Utility Model Registration No. 373160. The utility model discloses a sequin sewing device 1 including a base block 3, which is installed on a side portion of a head 2 of the sewing device using bonding units and a plurality of link structures, a reel holder 4, which is rotatably installed at an upper end portion of the base block 3 so as to fix a reel, around which a sequin roll is wound, and asequin device 5, which is installed at the lower end portion of the base block 3 so as to feed sequins released from the reel in a predetermined pitch unit. Thesequin device 5 includes a drivingmotor 12, which provides a driving force used for operating thesequin device 5, an actuatingarm 13, which is coupled with a driving shaft of the drivingmotor 12 so as to rotate in a forward direction or a backward direction, atransfer lever 16, which is rotatably coupled to the lower end portion of the actuatingarm 13 by means of ahinge 14, and is provided at a front end portion thereof with afirst hook part 15, which engages with a center hole of a sequin making the sequin roll, in order to transfer the sequins in a predetermined pitch unit according to the forward or backward action thereof when the sequins released from the reel are placed on the upper surface of the support plate 7, alock lever 18 provided at a free end portion thereof with asecond hook part 17, which can engage with the center hole of the sequin making the sequin roll, a locklever support block 19, which supports thelock lever 18 in such a manner that thelock lever 18 can move up and down, is provided with thesecond hook part 17 of thelock lever 18, which engages with a center hole of a sequin next to the sequin having the center hole engaging with thefirst hook part 15 of thetransfer lever 16, and securely locks the sequins when the transfer operation of the sequins is completed by thetransfer lever 16, and engages thefirst hook part 15 of thetransfer lever 16 with the center hole of a sequin when thetransfer lever 16 moves back after the completion of a transfer operation of the sequins and releases the engagement of thesecond hook part 16 of thelock lever 18 and the center hole of the sequin until the movement of the sequins resumes, and asequin cutter 20, which is mounted on the front end portion of the support plate 7 such that thesequin cutter 20 can rotatably move up and down and is used for cutting the moved sequins. According to the utility model, differently from the Japanese unexamined patent, since it is unnecessary to form an elongated hole, into which thesecond hook part 17 of thelock lever 18 is inserted, at the center part of thetransport lever 16, a manufacturing process is simplified, manufacturing costs are lowered, and it is easy to re-mount the sequin roll, so a user can conveniently perform a sequin embroidery work. - However, the sequin device disclosed in the Korean Utility Model having the above-described structure must exactly match the first hook part of the transfer lever and the second hook part of the lock lever with center holes of the sequins when a worker sets an initial working environment for sequin sewing work in order to transfer the sequins. However, it is difficult for a novice to precisely set such an initial working environment.

sequin sewing device 100 includes abase block 300, which is mounted on a side portion of a head of a sewing device using bonding units and a plurality of link structures, areel holder 200, rotatably installed at an upper portion of thebase block 300 so as to fix a reel, around which a sequin roll is wound, and thesequin device 400, which is installed at the lower portion of thebase block 300 so as to feed sequins released from the reel in a predetermined pitch unit using a plurality of mechanical devices. - The
sequin sewing device 100 is installed using a plurality of link structures and cylinders in such a manner that thesequin sewing device 10 can reciprocate up and down with respect to the head of the sewing device. Thesequin sewing device 100 is lifted such that typical embroidery work is not interrupted when sequin sewing work is not performed, or is pulled down when the sequin sewing work is performed. - As shown in
FIG. 5 , thesequin device 400 installed at a lower end portion of thebase block 300 includes asupport block 420, which is installed at the lower end portion of thebase block 300 using a coupling unit, asupport plate 430 horizontally formed in order to place a sequin roll on the lower end portion of thesupport block 420, and abracket 440 installed at one side portion of thesupport block 420 using a bonding unit. - The
support plate 430 is fabricated in the form of the shape of a rectangular plate and is formed at the center thereof with an elongated slot (not shown) having a predetermined width. - The
bracket 440 is fabricated in the form of a rectangular plate having a bending part such as an inclined surface formed at one side portion of thesupport block 420. A sequinpress leaf spring 444 and aguide part 442 are installed on front and rear lower end portions of thebracket 440 by using coupling units, respectively. - In addition, a sequin feeding mechanism for actually transferring and feeding sequins is formed at an inner portion of the
support block 420, and the sequin feeding mechanism includes a drivingmotor 410 mounted on a rear side portion of thesupport block 420 and providing a driving force used for operating the sequin feeding mechanism, anactuating arm 450 having the upper end portion fixedly coupled with a drivingshaft 412 of the drivingmotor 410 so as to rotatably move by the rotation degree of the drivingshaft 412 in a counterclockwise direction or a clockwise direction, atransfer lever 460 installed at the lower end portion of theactuating arm 450 such that it can rotate using ahinge shaft 470 in an upward direction or in a downward direction, and is provided with ahook part 462, which engages with a center hole of a sequin, positioned at the front end portion of thetransfer lever 16 in order to transfer sequins, which are extracted from the reel and placed on the upper side of thesupport plate 430 through theguide part 442, in a predetermined pitch unit through a forward operation or a backward operation, and a transferlever support bar 490 securely fixing the sequin by biasing thetransfer lever 460 downwardly with the completion of the transport operation of the sequin by thetransfer lever 460. - In addition, a
sequin cutter 480, which is used for cutting sequins, which are provided through the sequin feeding mechanism, one by one, is installed at a front end portion of thesupport plate 430 such that thesequin cutter 480 may rotatably move up and down. - Furthermore, the
sequin cutter 480 has an elastic member (not shown) wound around thesequin cutter 480, so thesequin cutter 480 is always maintained in a retracted position because it is upwardly biased by means of the elastic member. Thesequin cutter 480 moves down in corporation with the downward movement of aneedle bar 700 so as to perform cutting work for the sequins, and is moved up to the retracted position due to the elastic force of the elastic member when the needle bar is lifted up according to the completion of the cutting work for the sequins. - The sequins released from the reel are introduced into the
support plate 430 through theguide part 442 installed at the rear side portion of thebracket 440 using a plurality ofguide rollers support plate 430 by moving the position of theguide part 442 to left or right. - The
guide part 442 installed on the rear portion of thebracket 440 is not used for placing the sequin roll on a predetermined position of thesupport plate 430 but used for accurately positioning at the center hole of the sequin corresponding to the slot hole of thesupport plate 430. - The slot hole of the
support plate 430 is used for allowing the front end portion of thetransfer lever 460 to be inserted into the slot hole such that ahook part 462 provided at the front end portion of thetransfer lever 460 can engage with the center hole of the sequin placed on thesupport plate 430. - A driving
shaft 412 of a drivingmotor 410 providing a driving force for the sequin feeding mechanism protrudes out of the center part of thesupport block 420, an upper end portion of theactuating arm 450 is fixed to the front end portion of the drivingshaft 412 using a coupling unit, and thetransfer lever 460 engaged with the center hole of a sequin is rotatably connected to a lower end portion of theactuating arm 450 by means of ahinge shaft 470. - In addition, an
elongated slot hole 422 having a predetermined length is formed at the inner lower portion of thesupport block 420. A transferlever support bar 490, which is provided with apressing part 492 protruding downward from a lower end of the transferlever support bar 490 so as to securely fix a sequin roll by downwardly biasing thetransfer lever 460 after thetransfer lever 460 has transferred the sequin roll in a predetermined pitch unit, is installed in theslot hole 422 using a coupling unit in such a manner that the position of the transferlever support bar 490 can be adjusted in the forward or backward direction. Although the present invention does not limit the shape of the transferlever support bar 490, the transferlever support bar 490 preferably has a reverse-L shape as shown in FIGS. 5 to 8 b. - If necessary, the
pressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490 may be equipped with a pressing roller performing the rolling movement in order to minimize friction between thetransfer lever 460 and thepressing part 492. - In addition, an elastic member (not shown) is wound around the driving
shaft 412 of the drivingmotor 410, so one end of the elastic member is fixed on thesupport block 420, and the other end of the elastic member is locked with theactuating arm 450, thereby biasing theactuating arm 450 counterclockwise. - Furthermore, an elastic member (not shown) is wound around the
hinge shaft 470 provided at the lower end portion of theactuating arm 450. One end of the elastic member is fixed to a middle part of theactuating arm 450 and the other end of the elastic member is coupled with thetransfer lever 460, so thetransfer lever 460 is biased clockwise due to an elastic force of the elastic member. Accordingly, thehook part 462 provided at the front end portion of thetransfer lever 460 is always biased toward thesupport plate 430. - Hereinafter, the operation of the sequin device according to the present invention having the above-described structure will be described in detail. First, a worker draws the sequin roll wound around the reel. The first sequin of the sequin roll drawn from the reel is placed on the
support plate 430 through a plurality ofguide rollers guide part 442 and then moves back thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460 by handling a driving shaft control handle 414 provided at the rear side of the drivingmotor 410 such that thehook part 462 may engage with the center hole of the first sequin. After thehook part 462 has engaged with the center hole of the first sequin, the sequin roll is moved by rotating the driving shaft control handle 414 such that the foremost sequin of the sequin roll makes contact with the front end portion of thesupport plate 430. - When the sequin roll has transferred in a predetermined pitch unit through the transfer operation of the
transfer lever 460, the sequin roll must be securely fixed using the transferlever support bar 490 mounted on a predetermined position of thesupport block 420. This operation will be described below in detail with reference toFIGS. 7 a and 7 b. If thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460 moves forward in order to transfer the sequin roll in a state in which thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460 is engaged with the sequin hole, a smoothly-curved protrusion part 464 of thetransfer lever 460 makes contact with thepressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490 when the sequin roll has been transferred in a predetermined pitch unit. At this time, thepressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490 downwardly biases theprotrusion part 464 of thetransfer lever 460, so thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460 can securely support the sequin roll. - Thereafter, when the
transfer lever 460 moves backward in order to transfer the next sequin, the engagement between thehook part 462 and the center hole of the sequin is released. At this time, theprotrusion part 464 of thetransfer lever 460 is separated from thepressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490, thereby releasing the sequin roll. - When the sequin roll has been transferred to the front end portion of the
support plate 430 through the above procedure, thehead 600 of the sewing device is operated so that theneedle bar 700 moves down. Thus, thesequin cutter 480 moves down in corporation with theneedle bar 700, thereby cutting the sequin. The sequin cut by thesequin cutter 480 is applied to an object to be sewn. - In contrast, if the
needle bar 700 is lifted up, thesequin cutter 480 is upwardly retracted due to an elastic force of an elastic member, and thetransfer lever 460 moves back in order to transfer a new sequin. - Hereinafter, a sequin device according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference
FIGS. 8 a and 8 b. According to another embodiment of the present invention, thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460 can directly make contact with thepressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490 after thetransfer lever 470 has transferred the sequin roll in a predetermined pitch unit, in such a manner that thetransfer lever 460 is downwardly biased to fix the sequin roll. Otherwise, astopper 494, which is fabricated in the form of a cylindrical rod, protrudes from a predetermined position of thepressing part 492 of the transferlever support bar 490, and makes contact with thehook part 462 of thetransfer lever 460, thereby downwardly biasing thetransfer lever 460. - If necessary, the
stopper 494 of the transferlever support bar 490 may be equipped with a pressing roller performing the rolling movement in order to minimize friction between thetransfer lever 460 and thepressing part 492. - As described above, according to the present invention having the above structure, since the sequin roll is transferred in a predetermined pitch unit according to transfer operation of the transfer lever in the forward and backward directions, and then the transfer lever fixes the sequin roll by means of the transfer lever support bar, it is unnecessary to employ an additional device used for fixing the sequin roll. In addition, since a rotation degree of the actuating arm can be adjusted by a worker by simply adjusting backward and forward positions of the transfer lever support bar, it is unnecessary to employ the conventional stopper for the actuating arm and the conventional contact-point adjustment screw for adjusting the degree of rotation of the actuating arm. Accordingly, the structure of the sequin device can be simplified, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process of the sequin device. In addition, since the number of parts used for manufacturing the sequin device can be reduced, it is possible to remarkably reduce manufacturing costs for the sequin device.
- In addition, since the sequin device according to the present invention employs only one transfer lever so as to feed the sequins, it is easy to set the working environment of the sequin device, so even a novice can perform sequin sewing work. In addition, since a time required for the setting up and the control of the sequin device can be reduced, it is possible to remarkably improve the productivity of a sequin sewing work. Furthermore, it is easy to perform the maintenance of the sequin device when an error occurs in the sequin device, so it is possible to previously prevent the degradation of the productivity of the sequin device due to the error of the sequin device.
- Although a preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
