Abstract

A metal container includes a metal body, a cap and a combining base. The metal body has an upper opening and a thread formed in an inn upper wall. The cap has a center hole and a circumferential wall extending down a little and formed with a thread engaging with the thread of the metal body. The combining base is combined between the metal body and the cap, having a circumferential surface provided with two annular grooves and a neck standing up on its center and extending up and through the center hole of the cap. The cap, the combining base and the metal body are combined with each other by means of the threads and the annular grooves, and a annular gasket is fitted around the annular groove of the combining base to keep them closely tight.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • This invention relates to a metal container, particularly to one provided with a cap and a combining base to threadably engaging with a container body, for lowering its cost and improving its practicability.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • A conventional metal container 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 includes a metal body 10 and a combining cap 11 made integral with the metal body 10 as shown in FIG. 2. However, this conventional metal container 1 has the following disadvantages.
  • 1. As the metal body 10 and the combining cap 11 have a combining portion shaped curved, their processing is rather difficult, and the welded surface needs grinding, so the whole surface may have welding marks to harm its outer appearance.
  • 2. The combining cap 11 has a projecting threaded tubular member necessary to be processed several times, enhancing the cost not a little.
  • 3. It making process is rather complicated, causing bad effect in manufacture.
  • SUMAMRY OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention has been devised to offer a metal container, which can be assembled closely tight and manufactured with a lower cost than the conventional ones.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWIWNGS
  • This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a conventional metal container:
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the conventional metal container;
  • FIG. 3 is an explode perspective view of a metal container in the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the metal container in the present invention;
  • FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the metal container in the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • A preferred embodiment of a metal container in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, includes a metal body 2, a cap 3 and a combining base 4 as main components combined together.
  • The metal body 2 is provided with an upper opening 20, and a male thread 21 formed in an inner upper wall.
  • The cap 3 is closed on the upper opening 21 of the metal body 2, having a round hole 30 in the center, a circumferential wall 31 extending down and provided with male threads 32 and an annular groove 33.
  • The combining base 4 is made of plastic, combined between the cap 3 and the metal body 2, having an inverted T shape and a neck formed upright on the center and provided with an opening 40, and male threads 41 and two annular grooves 42, 43 formed around the circumferential surface. The annular groove 42 engages with the threads 32 of the cap 3, and the annular groove 43 fits with an annular gasket 44.
  • In using, the round hole 30 of the cap 3 is fitted around the neck with the opening 40 of the combining base 4, with the annular threads 32 engaging with the annular groove 42 of the combining base 4, and with the gasket 44 fitted around the annular groove 43. Next, the cap 3 combined with the combining base 4 is together fitted on the opening 20 of the metal body 2, with the annular groove 33 of the cap 3 engaging with the male thread 21 of the metal body. Finally, the gasket 44 fits closely in the annular groove 43 of the combining base 4, and also fits tightly around the inner wall of the metal body 2, finishing closing up the metal body 2.
  • The metal container according to the invention has the following advantages, as can be seen from the foresaid description.
  • 1. It is convenient to assemble and disassemble.
  • 2. Its cost can be lowered than the conventional ones, as the combining base 4 is made of plastic.
  • 3. The metal body 2, the cap 3 and the combining base 4 can be combined together tightly and smoothly by means of the fitting mode.
  • 4. The combination of the metal body 2, the cap and the combining base 4 can be watertight as the combining base 4 and the metal body 2 are tightly combined with the gasket 44.
  • While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made and the appended claimed are intended to cover the modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
