Abstract

There is disclosed a strap. The strap can be connection to a collar that is put around the neck of a pet. The strap includes a cover, a reinforcement layer and a lining. The cover is made of polyurethane. The lining is sandwiched between the cover and the reinforcement layer. The lining is compressible.

Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of Invention
The present invention relates to collar for a pet and, more particularly, to a strap for connection to such a collar.
2. Related Prior Art
To walk and confine a dog, an owner puts a collar around the neck of his or her pet, and connects an end of a strap or rope to the collar, and holds the other end of the strap or rope or ties it to an article.
There are nylon straps and cotton ropes. They are not elastic and, more particularly, extensible. Trying to run, pets transfer forces to their owners through the nylon straps or cotton ropes almost instantly and completely. The users often find it hard to hold on to the nylon straps or cotton ropes. Moreover, the nylon straps and the cotton ropes cannot be printed with patterns and seem dull.
There are plastic straps. The plastic straps are elastic in order to provide buffer between pets and their owners. The plastic straps are not permeable and make the owners feel uncomfortable particularly when the owners sweat. The plastic straps can be printed with patterns for aesthetic purposes. However, the printed patterns will fade away, and this will make the plastic straps look worse than they would without the printed patterns in the first place.
The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

According to the present invention, there is disclosed a strap for connection to a collar for a pet. The strap includes a cover, a reinforcement layer and a lining. The cover is made of polyurethane. The lining is sandwiched between the cover and the reinforcement layer. The lining is compressible.
The primary advantage of the strap according to the present invention is to provide a soft and nice touch.
Other advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description in conjunction with the drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 1, according to a first embodiment of the present invention, a strap 1 is provided for connection to a collar for a pet. The strap 1 includes a cover 10, a strength layer 20, a reinforcement layer 30, a lining 40, a first string 50, and a second string 50'.
Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the cover 10 includes a first edge 12, a second edge 14 parallel to the first edge 12, a first face 11, a second face (not numbered) parallel to the first face 11, a first inclined face 16 extending from the first face 11 to the second face along the first edge 12, and a second inclined face 18 extending from the first face 11 to the second face along the second edge 14. A plurality of patterns 19 is made into the first face 11 by means of cutting or punching or in any other appropriate process. These patterns 19 made into the first face 11 are more durable than patterns printed on a face. The cover 10 is made of polyurethane.
The strength layer 20 is made of fabric, woven or non-woven. The strength layer 20 is attached to the cover 10 in order to hold the cover 10 in shape. The strength layer 20 includes first and second inclined faces (not numbered) corresponding to the first and second inclined faces of the cover 10, respectively. The first inclined face of the former and the first inclined face of the latter make a continuous plane, and the second inclined face of the former and the second inclined face of the latter make a continuous plane.
The reinforcement layer 30 is made of woven fabric and preferably nylon. The reinforcement layer 30 is permeable so that heat and humidity can go through it easily. Thus, a user can feel good holding the strap 1. The reinforce layer 30 includes a face 31 towards the reinforcement layer 20.
The lining 40 is made of a foam material such as EVA. The lining 40 is compressible.
The lining 40 is sandwiched between the strength layer 20 and the reinforcement layer 30. The cover 10 is stitched to the reinforcement layer 30 by means of a first string 50 along the first edge 12 and a second string 50' along the second edge 14. Both of the inclined faces 16 and 18 of the cover 10 are brought into contact with the face 31 of the reinforcement layer 30. Thus, strength layer 20 and the lining 40 are completely concealed between the surface cover 10 and the reinforcement layer 30 so that the strap 1 is aesthetically pleasing.
According to FIG. 4, there is shown a strap 1 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is similar to the first embodiment except defining a plurality of vents 60 for better permeability.
According to FIGS. 4 and 5, there is shown a strap 2 according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The strap 2 is similar to the strap 1 except including a laminate 70 instead of the reinforcement layer 30. The laminate 70 includes a cover or polyurethane layer 71 and a strength layer or non-woven fabric layer 72 attached to the cover 71. The cover 71 includes inclined faces 73 and 74 compliant to the inclined faces 16 and 18 of the cover 10, respectively. The cover 71 is stitched to the cover 10 so that the inclined face 73 of the cover 71 is brought into contact with the inclined face 16 of the cover 10 and that the inclined face 74 of the cover 71 is brought into contact with the inclined face 18 of the cover 10. The cover 71 is similar to the cover 10. The strength layer 72 is similar to the strength layer 20.
Both of the straps 1 and 2 provide a soft and nice touch for including the lining 40. Both of the straps 1 and 2 are permeable for including and the strength layer 20 made of fabric. Both of the straps 1 and 2 are aesthetically pleasing for including the patterns 19 made in the cover 10.
The present invention has been described through the detailed illustration of the embodiments. Those skilled in the art can derive variations from the embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the embodiments shall not limit the scope of the present invention defined in the claims.

Claims

1. A strap comprising:

a cover made of polyurethane;

a reinforcement layer; and

a lining sandwiched between the cover and the reinforcement layer, the lining being compressible.

2. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the cover comprises two inclined faces along two edges, wherein the inclined faces are brought into contact with a face of the reinforcement layer when the cover is attached to the reinforcement layer.

3. The strap according to claim 2 wherein the cover is stitched to the reinforcement layer by means of two strings along the inclined faces.

4. The strap according to claim 1 comprising a strength layer sandwiched between the cover and the lining.

5. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the cover comprises a plurality of patterns made therein.

6. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the cover comprises a plurality of vents made therein.

7. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the reinforcement layer is made of fabric.

8. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the reinforcement layer is made of polyurethane.

9. The strap according to claim 1 wherein the lining is made of a foam material.

10. A strap comprising:

two covers;

two strength layers sandwiched between the covers; and

a lining sandwiched between the strength layers, the lining being compressible.

11. The strap according to claim 10 wherein each of the covers comprises two inclined faces along two edges, wherein the inclined faces of one of the covers are brought into contact with the inclined faces of the other of the covers when the covers are attached to each other.

12. The strap according to claim 11 wherein the covers are stitched to each other by means of two strings along the inclined faces.

13. The strap according to claim 10 wherein one of the covers comprises a plurality of patterns made therein.

14. The strap according to claim 10 wherein one of the covers comprises a plurality of vents made therein.

15. The strap according to claim 10 wherein the lining is made of a foam material.
