FIG. 12 is a locally enlarged view of the treadmill as shown inFIG. 11 . - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIGS. 1-3 , a treadmill in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main body 1, and an angle adjustingdevice 2 mounted on the main body 1. - The main body 1 includes two
upright bars 11, twobottom rods 12, aholding bar 13, twoside rods 14, an uppertransverse rod 15, a lowertransverse rod 16, aroller 17, asupport board 18, and abelt 19. Thesupport board 18 is mounted between the twoside rods 14, and thebelt 19 is mounted on thesupport board 18. The uppertransverse rod 15 is located between the twoside rods 14. - The angle adjusting
device 2 is mounted between theholding bar 13 and each of the twobottom rods 12 and includes asupport seat 21, anangle adjuster 22, abolt 23, and asocket 24. - The
support seat 21 is a triangular hollow body mounted on a respective one of thebottom rods 12. Thesupport seat 21 has a front side provided with afirst cover plate 212 and a rear side provided with asecond cover plate 214. Thesupport seat 21 has two side walls each formed with an arc-shaped guide slot 213 to function as an adjusting track of thebolt 23. - The
angle adjuster 22 is mounted between theholding bar 13 and the support seat 21 (or a respective one of the bottom rods 12) and includes a first connectingsection 225 secured to theholding bar 13 to move therewith, and a second connectingsection 226 secured to thesupport seat 21 and pivotally connected to the first connectingsection 225. Preferably, the second connectingsection 226 of theangle adjuster 22 is secured to an inner side of thesecond cover plate 214 of thesupport seat 21. Thus, theholding bar 13 is pivotally mounted on thebottom rods 12 by theangle adjuster 22. - The
angle adjuster 22 has an inside provided with agear 222, anelastic member 223, and alocking pawl 224. Thelocking pawl 224 of theangle adjuster 22 is engaged with thegear 222 to adjust the angle between the first connectingsection 225 and the second connectingsection 226. - The
socket 24 is mounted between the two side walls of thesupport seat 21, and thebolt 23 is extended through theguide slots 213 of thesupport seat 21, thesocket 24 and the front end of each of the twoside rods 14 and is screwed into an end of the uppertransverse rod 15, so that the uppertransverse rod 15 is combined with the twoside rods 14 by thebolt 23. At this time, thebolt 23 is located above and rested on theholding bar 13 extended into thesupport seat 21 as shown inFIG. 2 . - In operation, referring to
FIGS. 4-7 , when theholding bar 13 is moved upward by the user, thebolt 23 is moved upward by theholding bar 13, so that the uppertransverse rod 15 and the front ends of the twoside rods 14 are moved upward by thebolt 23 so as to adjust the angle of thesupport board 18 mounted between the twoside rods 14. At this time, the first connectingsection 225 of theangle adjuster 22 is secured to theholding bar 13 to move therewith, and thelocking pawl 224 of theangle adjuster 22 is engaged with thegear 222 to fix the lifting angle of the first connectingsection 225 so as to fix and adjust the angle of thesupport board 18 mounted between the twoside rods 14. Alternatively, as shown inFIGS. 4 and 5 , when thegear 222 of theangle adjuster 22 is rotated to its end, theelastic member 223 springs thelocking pawl 224 away so that the first connectingsection 225 is returned to the original position. - As shown in
FIGS. 7 and 8 , when thebolt 23 is unscrewed from the uppertransverse rod 15, the front ends of the twoside rods 14 are released from the uppertransverse rod 15, so that the twoside rods 14 and thesupport board 18 are lifted toward theupright bars 11 to move upward from the position as shown inFIG. 7 to the position as shown inFIG. 8 to fold thesupport board 18 so as to reduce the volume of the treadmill when not in use, thereby facilitating storage and transportation of the treadmill. At this time, thesupport board 18 is perpendicular to thebottom rods 12. - Referring to
FIGS. 9-12 , theangle adjuster 22 is mounted between the lowertransverse rod 16 and a respective one of the twoside rods 14, wherein the first connectingsection 225 is secured to the lowertransverse rod 16 to move therewith, and the second connectingsection 226 is secured to a respective one of the twoside rods 14. Thus, when the lowertransverse rod 16 is moved inward, the rear ends of the twoside rods 14 are moved upward so as to adjust the angle of thesupport board 18 mounted between the twoside rods 14. - Accordingly, when the
holding bar 13 is moved upward by the user, thebolt 23 is moved upward by theholding bar 13, so that the uppertransverse rod 15 and the front ends of the twoside rods 14 are moved upward by thebolt 23 so as to adjust the angle of thesupport board 18 mounted between the twoside rods 14. In addition, the user only needs to hold and lift theholding bar 13 so as to adjust the angle of the support board, thereby facilitating the user adjusting the angle of the support board. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
