Abstract
An do-it-yourself golf bag of the invention includes a bottom, a bag body and a head frame; wherein two frames are provided on both ends of the bag body, each of which has a rabbet for mounting a structure stay; and the two frames of the bag body are connected with the bottom and the head frame in a detachable manner. An assembly method of the above golf bag includes the steps of: (A) connecting the bottom with the frame of the bag body; (B) connecting a lower end of the stand with the bottom, and connecting a top end of the stand with the frame of the bag body; and (C) connecting the head frame with the frame of the bag body.
Description
- The present invention claims priority of Chinese Application No. 200410097507X, filed on Nov. 22, 2004.
- The present invention is related to golf bags and assembly method thereof, and particularly to an easily-assembled golf bag and assembly method thereof.
- At present, there are generally two kinds of golf bags, one is golf cart bag, and the other is golf stand bag. The golf cart bag is generally put on a golf cart, which comprises a head frame on its top, a bottom and a bag body having support stays or board to connect the bottom with the head frame. The head frame, the bottom and the bag body are integrally connected inherently. The golf bag with stand utilizes the stand to support the golf bag, which is convenient for user to take and place the golf bag. However, because the head frame and the bottom of both the golf bags are made of hard material so that the golf bag cannot be folded and also cannot be assembled by user himself. Thus, the traditional golf bags not only take a large space so as to increase the cost of transportation and storage, but also not satisfy the user's desire to assemble the golf bag by himself.
- Hence it is desired to provide a golf bag and an assembly method which can overcome the foregoing drawbacks of the prior art.
- A main object of the present invention is to provide a golf bag which is easily assembled and has a small occupying space after being disassembled so it is convenient for transportation and storage. Another object of the present invention is to provide an assembly method of the golf bag.
- A golf bag of the present invention comprises a bottom, a bag body, and a head frame; wherein two frames are provided on both ends of the bag body, each of which has a rabbet for mounting a stay; and the two frames of the bag body are connected with the bottom and the head frame in a detachable manner.
- In an embodiment, the two frames of the bag body is made of elastic material. There are a plurality of protrusions formed on inner sidewall of the two frames, and a plurality of notches respectively formed on outer sidewalls of the head frame and the bottom for receiving the protrusions of the two frames. In another embodiment, there are a plurality of notches formed on inner sidewall of the two frames, and a plurality of protrusions respectively formed on outer sidewalls of the head frame and the bottom for being inserted into the notches of the two frames.
- In an embodiment, each of the two frames has its bottom overturned inwardly to form a U-shaped slot for receiving a bottom end of the head frame or a top end of the bottom. In a first embodiment, there are at least one sockets formed on outer sidewall of the frame matched with the head frame, a stand has its top end inserted into the at least one sockets so as to connect with the frame. In a second embodiment, at least one elastic tongues are provided on outer sidewall of the frame matched with the head frame, and at least one gaps are formed between the frame and at least one the elastic tongues, the stand has its top end inserted into the at least one gaps.
- In an embodiment, a plurality of Velcro tapes are provided on inner sidewall of the frame to bond with a plurality of Velcro tapes on end of the bag body. A plurality of extended protrusions are provided on sidewall of the head frame where is matched with the frame having the elastic tongues. The golf bag has a full length divider on which top two Velcro tapes are provided, one of the Velcro tapes is bonded with the other Velcro tape after rounding a divider rail of the head frame; a plurality of the Velcro tapes are provided on a bottom surface of a bottom of the full length divider, which are bonded with a plurality of Velcro tapes of the bottom.
- An assembly method of the above golf bag, which comprises the steps of: (A) connecting the bottom with the frame of the bag body; (B) connecting a lower end of the stand with the bottom, and connecting a top end of the stand with the frame of the bag body; (C) connecting the head frame with the frame of the bag body.
- In an embodiment, the stay can be mounted on the bag body before or after the step A, B or C. In another embodiment, the method further comprising a step that a full length divider has its top end to wrap a divider rail of the head frame and bonded therewith; and then a plurality of Velcro tapes on a bottom of the full length divider is bonded with many pieces of Velcro tapes on the bottom. The Velcro tapes are bonded on the top of the full length divider by sewing. In another embodiment, the full length divider may be end on the head frame by sewing without Velcro tapes.
- Because the golf bag of the invention has its head frame, bottom and bag body connected with each other in a detachable manner, so the golf bag can be disassembled and folded so as to lessen occupying space thereof when being transportation and storage. In addition, the assembly method and structure also satisfy the user's desire to assemble the golf bag by himself. Furthermore, the golf bag cannot be damaged even after assembling or disassembling for many times. Also, the components of the golf bag of the invention are easily replaced.
- For the purpose of making the invention easier to understand, some particular embodiments thereof will now be described with reference to the appended drawings in which:

FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a full length divider of the golf bag of the invention. - Referring now to the drawings in detail, as shown in
FIGS. 1-4 , a golf bag of the invention is mainly consisted of abottom 1, abag body 2 and ahead frame 3. There are twoframes 4 provided on both ends of thebag body 2, which are fixed to thebag body 2 by sewing or rivet jointing. In an embodiment, theframes 4 are made of a kind of elastic material, such as plastic, PU, etc., which can be deformed when being pressed. This is helpful for theframes 4 to be folded with thebag body 2. On eachframe 4 there is arabbet 41 for mounting a stay 5 (structure stay). Both ends of thestay 5 are respectively mounted on the tworabbets 41 of theframes 4 for supporting thebag body 2. When disassembling the golf bag, it only needs to take out thestay 5 from thebag body 2 and then thebag body 2 can be folded. - In the present invention, referring to
FIGS. 1-4 , there are a plurality ofprotrusions 42 formed on inner sidewall of theframe 4, while a plurality ofnotches 31 are formed on outer sidewall of thehead frame 3 for receiving theprotrusions 42 of theframe 4. When theprotrusions 42 are received in thenotches 31, thehead frame 3 and theframe 4 are assembled together. This connection method is very convenient to disassembly and assembly of thehead frame 3 and the frame. The connection structure and method of thebottom 1 with thebag body 2 is very similar to the above connection structure and method. Thus, a detailed description thereof is omitted herefrom. Because thehead frame 3 is made of hard plastic material so that the golf bag can be kept in its original shape when being used. In addition, at least one Velcrotape 21 can be provided on both inner sidewall of theframe 4 and the end of thebag body 2 for a good appearance of the golf bag. After thehead frame 3 is inserted into theframe 4, thehead frame 3 and theframe 4 can be enclosed together by binding the Velcro tape on the overturned end of thebag body 2 with the Velcro tape on inner sidewall of theframe 4. The connection structure and method of thebottom 1 with theframe 4 is very similar to the connection structure and method of thehead frame 3 with theframe 4. Thus, a detailed description thereof is omitted herefrom. Obviously, a plurality of protrusions on the inner sidewall of the twoframes 4 can be substituted by a plurality of notches, and a plurality of notches on the outer sidewalls of thehead frame 3 and thebottom 1 can be substituted by a plurality of protrusions on the out sidewalls thereof. Such change can attain an equivalent technical effect. The above structure of the golf bag can save a large space during storage and transportation because the head frame bottom can be taken out and then thebag body 2 can be folded so that they can be placed respectively. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , according to an embodiment of the golf bag of the invention, a plurality ofelastic tongues 22 are provided on the outer sidewall of theframe 4, which has abase 221 secured to theframe 4 and at least onegaps 222 are formed between theframe 4 and an upper portion of theelastic tongues 22. Astand 6 of the golf bag has atop end 61 inserted into the at least onegaps 222, as shown inFIGS. 2 and 3 . Theelastic tongue 22 is preferably shaped corresponding to the shape of the top end of thestand 6. During assembly, firstly, fixingsteel wires 62 in thebottom 1, then inserting thetop end 61 of thestand 6 into the at least onegaps 222, after that, mounting thehead frame 3 into theframe 4. Thus, the golf bag becomes cylinder-shaped. In the meantime, theframe 4 becomes ellipse-shaped as the shape of thehead frame 3 because theframe 4 is made of elastic material, such as plastic, PU, etc. Thus the tensility of theframe 4 becomes different from thetongue 22 due to the change of the shape of theframe 4 so as to lock thetop end 61 of thestand 6 tightly and also ensure integrality between thestand 6 and the golf bag. Preferably, in order to prevent thestand 6 from moving upward or downward, a plurality ofextended protrusions 32 are provided on the sidewall of thehead frame 3 where is matched with theframe 4 having theelastic tongue 22. Theextended protrusions 32 can lock thetop end 61 of thestand 6 when thehead frame 3 is received in theframe 4, it will prevent thetop end 61 from moving upward or downward in thegap 222 so as to fix thestand 6 more effectively. - In anther embodiment, the
tongue 22 can be changed into a socket, a same effect will be attained by inserting thetop end 61 of thestand 6 into the socket. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , the bottom of theframe 4 can be overturned inwardly to form aU-shaped slot 43 having an upward opening. In an embodiment, there have extendedprotrusions 32 on both sidewalls of thehead frame 3. Meantime, there have matched holes (not shown) on both U-shaped sidewalls of theframe 4. When the sidewalls of thehead frame 3 are inserted into theU-shaped slots 43 of theframe 4, it can be locked very tight. There is at least oneVelcro tapes 44 attached to theU-shaped slot 43. The lower end of thehead frame 3 can be inserted into theU-shaped slot 43, then the end of thebag body 2 is overturned into thehead frame 3, after that, theVelcro tapes 21 on the end of thebag body 2 are bonded with theVelcro tapes 44 on theU-shaped slot 43 so as to fix thehead frame 3 and theframe 4. This method can also be applied to connect thebottom 1 and thebag body 2, and the difference is that the bottom of theframe 4 is overturned inwardly to form aU-shaped slot 43 having a downward opening. - In addition, the golf bag has a full length divider 7 on which top two
Velcro tapes Velcro tape 71 is bonded with theVelcro tape 72 after rounding a divider rail 33 of thehead frame 3. Also, a plurality of theVelcro tapes 73 are provided on a bottom surface of a bottom 74 of the full length divider 7, which are bonded with theVelcro tapes 12 of the bottom l so as to divide thebag body 2 into a plurality of individual spaces. - The golf bag of the present invention can be assembled as the follows: (A) firstly, connecting the bottom 1 with the
frame 4 of thebag body 2; then (B) connecting the lower end of thestand 6 with thebottom 1, and connecting the top end of thestand 6 with theframe 4 of thebag body 2; (C) connecting thehead frame 3 with theframe 4 of thebag body 2. Furthermore, thestay 41 can be mounted on thebag body 2 before or after the step A, B or C. - After finishing the above steps, the top end of the full length divider 7 is rounded the divider rail 33 of the
head frame 3 and bonded therewith. In another embodiment, the top end of the full length divider 7 wraps the head frame divider rail 33 by sewing. Then theVelcro tape 73 on the bottom 74 of the full length divider 7 is bonded with theVelcro tape 12 on thebottom 1. - In the present invention, the above assembly steps is reversible, the golf bag can be disassembled in an adverse sequence the above steps.
- The above assembly method is not limited to the above-mentioned golf bag, the assembly method of the invention is applicable to any golf bag which head frame, bag body and bottom is detachable.
- It is understood that the invention may be embodied in other forms without departing from the spirit thereof Thus, the present examples and embodiments are to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, and the invention is not to be limited to the details given herein.
Claims (14)
1. A do-it-yourself golf bag comprising:
a bottom;
a bag body; and
a head frame; wherein two frames are provided on both ends of the bag body, each of which has a rabbet for mounting a structure stay; and
the two frames of the bag body are connected with the bottom and the head frame in a detachable manner.
2. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the two frames of the bag body is made of elastic material.
3. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein there are a plurality of protrusions formed on inner sidewall of the two frames, and a plurality of notches respectively formed on outer sidewalls of the head frame and the bottom for receiving the protrusions of the two frames.
4. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein there are a plurality of notches formed on inner sidewall of the two frames, and a plurality of protrusions respectively formed on outer sidewalls of the head frame and the bottom for being inserted into the notches of the two frames.
5. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of the two frames has its bottom overturned inwardly to form a U-shaped slot for receiving a bottom end of the head frame or a top end of the bottom; there have extended protrusions on both sidewalls of the head frame; there also have matched holes on both U-shaped sidewalls of the frame; the sidewalls of the head frame are inserted into the U-shaped slots of the frame so as to lock both of them very tight.
6. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein there are at least one sockets formed on outer sidewall of the frame matched with the head frame, a stand has its top end inserted into the at least one sockets so as to connect with the frame.
7. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a plurality of elastic tongues are provided on outer sidewall of the frame matched with the head frame, and at least one gaps are formed between the frame and the at least one elastic tongues, a stand has its top end inserted into the at least one gaps.
8. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a plurality of Velcro tapes are provided on inner sidewall of the frame to bond with a plurality of Velcro tapes on end of the bag body.
9. The golf bag as claimed in claim 7 , wherein a plurality of extended protrusions are provided on sidewall of the head frame where is matched with the frame having the elastic tongue.
10. The golf bag as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the golf bag has a full length divider on which top two Velcro tapes are provided, one of the Velcro tapes is bonded with the other Velcro tape after rounding a divider rail of the head frame; a plurality of the Velcro tapes are provided on a bottom surface of a bottom of the full length divider, which are bonded with a plurality of Velcro tapes of the bottom.
11. An assembly method of golf bag according to claim 1 , which comprises the steps of:
(A) connecting the bottom with the frame of the bag body;
(B) connecting a lower end of a stand with the bottom, and connecting a top end of the stand with the frame of the bag body;
(C) connecting the head frame with the frame of the bag body.
12. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the structure stay can be mounted on the bag body before or after the step A, B or C.
13. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the method further comprising a step that a full length divider has its top end rounded a divider rail of the head frame and bonded therewith; and then a plurality of Velcro tapes on a bottom of the full length divider is bonded with a plurality of Velcro tapes on the bottom.
14. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the Velcro tapes are bonded on the top of the full length divider, or the top end of the full length divider rounding the frame divider rail and bonded by sewing without any Velcro tape.
