Abstract
A color indicating system for indicating physical capability of a user used for a fitness appliance or machine includes different color combinations by lit up colored LED of a color indicator so as to indicate different physical capabilities. The color indication of the color indicator is controlled by physical capability of a user (or exerciser) during exercising on a fitness appliance, and different color combinations indicate the physical capability is insufficient or too excessive so that the exerciser may understand his/her own bodily condition from the color combinations shown by the color indicator.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to a color indicating system, particularly to one including different color combinations indicated by colored LED of a color indicator having plural colored LED or an LCD. So a user can understand his/her own body condition from the different color combinations of the lit-up colored LED during exercising so that an exerciser and a fitness appliance or machine may have good communications with each other.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Conventional fitness equipment may have a LED or LCD indicator for showing a numerical figure for letting an exerciser to understand his/her bodily condition and capability during exercising. Nevertheless, users (or exercisers) may not fully make out what the numerical figures indicate or represent, so the numerical figures lose its value. Thus the fitness equipment cannot be fully utilized by a user.
- The purpose of the invention is to offer a color indicating system, which includes different color combinations by lit-up colored lamps (LED) for representing different body capabilities (such as heartbeat) of a user during exercise so that the user can adjust the fitness equipment to suit to his/her exercise according to the color indicating system.
- The feature of the invention is a color indicating system carried out by a color indicator, which includes a plurality of colored lamps such as LED. The indication of the colored LED is controlled by the physical capability of an exerciser during exercising on a fitness appliance or machine so different combinations of colored lit-up LED show that the physical capability is insufficient or too excessive. Then the exerciser can understand his/her own physical condition during exercising on the fitness appliance or machine.
- This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a front view of a first embodiment of a color indicator in the present invention; and, -
FIG. 2 is a side view of a second embodiment of a color indicator in the present invention. - A first embodiment of a color indicator in the present invention, as shown in
FIG. 1 , is composed of a plurality of LED (light emitting diode), a white colored one (W), two yellow colored ones (Y1) and (Y2), a green one (G) and two red colored ones (R1) and (R2), that is, four kinds of colored LED. The different conditions of the user's heart beat (HR) representing the physical capability are indicated by different color combinations of these LED of four different colors lit up. An exerciser wears a heartbeat meter in making exercise, and the heartbeat meter is connected to a controller of a fitness appliance or machine (by means of a wireless transmitter) and the controller controls the color indicator to light up different combinations of the LED according to the heartbeat (HR) checked out. Then the color indication system employed by the color indicator is shown as below. - 1. The color combinations indicate different exercise values (heartbeat (HR)) as follows.
-
- 1-1. The white LED (W) lit up indicates HR<60.
- 1-2. The white LED (W) lit up and flashing indicates 60= or <HR<70.
- 1-3. The yellow LED (Y1) lit up indicates 70= and <HR<80.
- 1-4. The yellow LED (Y1) lit up and flashing indicates 80=or <HR<90.
- 1-5. The yellow LED (Y2) lit up indicates 90= or <HR<100.
- 1-6. The yellow LED (Y2) lit up and flashing indicates 100= or <HR<110
- 1-7. The green LED (G1) lit up indicates 110= or <HR<120.
- 1-8. The green LED (G!) lit up and flashing indicates 120= or <HR<130
- And so on in the same way. When the HR (heartbeat) surpasses 190 bmp, all the LED flash.
- 2. Different combinations of the LED are used to indicate different physical capabilities during exercising on a fitness appliance or machine as follows.
- 2-1. The white LED (W) lit up indicates not-yet exercising condition.
- 2-2. The yellow LED (Y1, Y2) lit up indicate insufficient exercising.
- 2-3 The green LED (G1, G2, G3) lit up indicate proper exercising, especially the second green one (G2) being the most proper.
- 2-4. The red LED (R1, R2) lit up indicate excessive exercising.
- 2-5. All the LED lit up and flashing indicate dangerous exercising.
- Next,
FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of acolor indicator 2, which includes a red (R), a green (G) and a blue (B) LED of three kinds of colors. - 1. The color combinations of the LED indicate the value of the exercising (HR) of a user as follows.
-
- 1-1. The white (W), the green (G) and the blue (B) LED all lit up indicate HR<60.
- 1-2. The yellow color by (R+G) LED lit up indicates 60= or <HR<80.
- 1-3. The blue-green color by (G+B) LED indicates 80= or <HR<100.
- 1-4. The green color by (G) LED indicates 100= or <HR<120.
- 1-5. The blue color by (B) LED indicates 120= or <HR<140.
- 1-6. The violet color by (R+G) LED indicate 120= or <HR<140.
- 1-7. The red color by (R) LED indicates 160= or <HR<180.
- 1-8. The red color by (R) LED lit up and flashing indicates 180= or <HR<200.
- If the all the LED are lit up and flash, and HR surpasses 190 bmp, the user knows that ongoing exercising is too vigorous,
-
- 2. Different combinations of the LED are used to indicate different exercising capabilities as follows.
- 2-1. The white color by (R+G+B) LED indicates not-yet-exercising.
- 2-2. The yellow color by (R+G) LED indicates too weak exercising.
- 2-3. The blue-green color by (G+B) LED indicates insufficient exercising.
- 2-4. The green color by (G) LED indicates proper exercising.
- 2-5. The blue color by (B) LED indicates a little strong exercising.
- 2-6. The violet color by (R+B) LED indicate too strong exercising.
- 2-7. The red color by (R) LED indicates excessive exercising.
- 2-8. All the LED flash in case of nearly dangerous exercising.
- Further, physical capabilities can be indicated with heartbeat (HR) as described above, and also be indicated with exercise power of an exerciser. For example, if an exerciser makes exercise by overcoming a load in exercising, the physical capability can be indicated with pedaling speed.
- In general, a user can easily understand what it means by the different combinations of the colored LED lit up by any of the two embodiments of color indicators, and be aware of (1) whether the exercising degree is proper or not; (2) whether the exercising capability is proper or not. Comparing with the numerical indication of the conventional indicators used in a fitness appliance or machine, the color indicating system employed in the color indicator in the invention can be more easily and quickly understood by a user or exerciser, who can be aware of the physical condition during exercising on a fitness appliance or machine, facilitating easy communication between a user and a fitness appliance or machine.
- While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
