Abstract
A floating decoration includes a floating board, a decoration, and a container. The decoration is detachably assembled on a top of the floating board and composed of a plurality of panels made of plastic or foam materials. The container is detachably connected to a bottom of the floating board and is provided for containing a certain weight to prevent the floating board and the decoration from overturn while floating.
Description
- The present invention relates generally to a decoration, which floats above the water.
- In some occasions around water, such as swimming pools, seashores and the like, decorations for the particular events or festivals are generally put on the ground, hung on the trees or the nearby objects to create a happy, meaningful and cheerful atmosphere for the events or festivals. Taking poolside parties for example, the decorations such as ribbons and balloons are generally placed around the pools and the nearby objects around the pools but in the pools. Therefore, the pools without decorations within are wasted.
- In addition, some inflatable objects are provided for floating above the water in the pools but they generally are provided for having fun in the pools and in regular shapes. Therefore, for creating a varied atmosphere to the particular events or festivals and for efficiently using inside spaces of the pools to increase the decoration areas, decorations for floating above the water are in great demand.
- It is a primary object of the present invention to provide a floating decoration for decorating swimming pools, seashore and the like. The floating decoration of the present invention is not only easy to make and to assemble, but also saves spaces in delivery and storage.
- More particularly, the floating decoration includes a floating board, a decoration, and a container. The decoration is detachably assembled on a top of the floating board and composed of a plurality of panels made of plastic or foam materials. The container is detachably connected to a bottom of the floating board and is provided for containing a certain weight to prevent the floating board and the decoration from overturn while floating.
- In addition, the floating board and the panels are preferred made of foam boards, which have particular colored and patterned plastic films. Therefore, the decoration and the floating board are easy to make and to assemble, also floating well above the water. Moreover, the floating board and the panels are flat before assembling so that they do not occupy spaces during delivery and storage.
- The invention will be more clearly understood after referring to the following detailed description read in conjunction with the drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the first embodiment; -
FIG. 3 shows the first embodiment of the present invention floating above the water; -
FIG. 4 shows a second embodiment of the present invention floating above the water; and -
FIG. 5 is a partially enlarged cross sectional view of a foam material of the present invention - With reference to
FIG. 1 , a first embodiment of the present invention comprises afloating board 1, adecoration 2, and acontainer 3. Thedecoration 2 is detachably assembled on a top of thefloating board 1 and thecontainer 3 is hung and detachably connected to a bottom of thefloating board 1. Thecontainer 3 in the present invention could be any materials pervious to water, such as bags with meshes/holes, plastic bottles or cans with holes. - In addition, the
decoration 2 of the first embodiment is composed of a plurality of panels, which are detachable. As shown inFIG. 2 , thedecoration 2 is composed of twopanels slots panels slots panels decoration 2. In addition, thefloating board 1 further comprises ahole 11 provided for jointing and assembling with thedecoration 2. In the first embodiment, thehole 11 is a cross hole for jointing with the assembledpanels -
FIG. 3 shows the first embodiment floating above the water and a bottom of thedecoration 2 is projecting from the bottom of thefloating board 1. Moreover, thecontainer 3 is tied to the bottom of thedecoration 2 by arope 30. The most important is that thecontainer 3 is contained with a certain weight so that the floatingboard 1 and thedecoration 2 could have a great balance to prevent from overturn while floating. In other words, according to the present invention, the floating decoration is safely floating above the water via thecontainer 3. -
FIG. 4 shows a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment has the same structure as the first embodiment, such as thefloating board 1 and thedecoration 2 but thecontainer 3. The second embodiment has a container 3 a with holes and the container 3 a is detachably attached to the bottom of the floatingboard 1. In addition, the container 3 a is contained with a certain weight for preventing thefloating board 1 and thedecoration 2 from overturn. - According to the first and the second embodiments, it is clearly understood that the present invention comprises the
floating board 1 and thepanels floating board 1 and thepanels -
FIG. 5 shows a board material provided for forming thefloating board 1 and thepanels foam board 4, atop foam skin 41, abottom foam skin 42, a topplastic film 5 and a bottomplastic film 6. Thetop foam skin 41 has a surface laminated to a top surface of thefoam board 4 and thebottom foam skin 42 has a surface laminated to a bottom surface of thefoam board 4. Bothtop foam skin 41 andbottom foam skin 42 are thinner than thefoam board 4 and have greater densities than of thefoam board 4. - The top
plastic film 5 is laminated to the other surface of thetop foam skin 41 and the bottomplastic film 6 is laminated to the other surface of thebottom foam skin 42. Both topplastic film 5 and bottomplastic film 6 have colors or patterns formed within. A preferred method for making patterns formed within the topplastic film 5 or the bottomplastic film 6 is described as below. First, print the patterns on a surface of a plastic film and then coat a melting plastic material to the surface of the plastic film for covering the patterns. Therefore, the patterns are sandwiched between the plastic film and the plastic material and the patterns are visible from outside of both plastic film and the plastic material. - Furthermore, the top
plastic film 5 and the bottomplastic film 6 could also respectively be laminated to the top and the bottom surfaces of thefoam board 4. Thebottom foam skin 42 and the bottomplastic film 6 could be omitted because the bottom surface of thefoam board 4 is immersed in the water. Therefore, the compositions of thefoam board 4, thetop foam skin 41, thebottom foam skin 42, the top plastic film the and a bottomplastic film 6 can be various, according to applications of the present invention. - In practice, the decoration of the floating decoration could be assembled as a Christmas tree shown in
FIG. 1 in winters. Furthermore, the shape of the decoration could be assembled as houses, animals, or other figures corresponding to the seasons, occasions and festivals. Therefore, the present invention has advantages of easy t assemble, lightweight for carry and delivery, also saving spaces for storage. More particularly, the present invention provides varied shapes for creating various atmospheres to the particular events and efficiently uses the inside spaces of the pools or the seashores to increase the decoration areas. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
