  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, one of a pair of skates in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main body 1, a brake device 2, a binding device 14, and a size adjustment device 3.
  • The main body 1 is substantially U-shaped and has a first end provided with a front wheel 12 and a second end provided with a rear wheel 13.
  • The binding device 14 is mounted on the main body 1 and includes a pedal 141 secured on the main body 1 to support a user's one foot, two cover plates 142 mounted on two opposite sides of the pedal 141 to cover and limit the user's one foot, and two binding straps 145 each mounted between the two cover plates 142 to bind the user's one foot. Preferably, the binding device 14 has an opening 144 defined between the two cover plates 142, and the two binding straps 145 enclose the opening 144. In addition, the two cover plates 142 are arranged at an upright state.
  • The brake device 2 is mounted on the binding device 14 and includes a pivot plate 21. pivotally mounted on the two cover plates 142 of the binding device 14, a brake pad 22 mounted on the pivot plate 21 to pivot therewith and movable to press the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1, a support plate 211 mounted on the pivot plate 21 to support the brake pad 22, an adjusting plate 23 mounted on the pivot plate 21, a fastening plate 24 mounted on the adjusting plate 23, and a snapping strap 25 mounted on the fastening plate 24 to fasten the user's one foot.
  • The pivot plate 21 of the brake device 2 is substantially U-shaped and has two arc-shaped side walls. The pivot plate 21 of the brake device 2 has two ends each pivotally mounted on an end of a respective one of the two cover plates 142 of the binding device 14.
  • The brake pad 22 of the brake device 2 is substantially inverted V-shaped and is located above the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1.
  • The adjusting plate 23 of the brake device 2 is arranged at an upright state and has an adjustable height and an adjustable inclined angle.
  • The fastening plate 24 of the brake device 2 is substantially U-shaped.
  • The snapping strap 25 of the brake device 2 has a first end secured on a first end of the fastening plate 24 and a second end detachably locked on a second end of the fastening plate 24.
  • The size adjustment device 3 is mounted on the binding device 14 and includes a main catch plate 31 mounted on the pedal 141 of the binding device 14, a side catch plate 32 mounted on the pedal 141 of the binding device 14, and a bonding member 33 mounted on the main catch plate 31 and the side catch plate 32 and attached on the pedal 141 of the binding device 14 to fix the main catch plate 31 and the side catch plate 32 on the pedal 141 of the binding device 14.
  • The main catch plate 31 of the size adjustment device 3 has a periphery formed with an annular catch wall 312 arranged at an upright state to enclose a user's one shoe.
  • The side catch plate 32 of the size adjustment device 3 has at least one side formed with a catch wall 322 arranged at an upright state to support a user's one shoe.
  • The bonding member 33 of the size adjustment device 3 includes a first snapping portion 331 secured on a surface of the main catch plate 31 and the side catch plate 32 and a second snapping portion 332 secured on a surface of the pedal 141 of the binding device 14 and detachably combined with the first snapping portion 331. Thus, the position of each of the main catch plate 31 and the side catch plate 32 at the pedal 141 of the binding device 14 can be adjusted freely so as to fit the size of the user's shoes.
  • When in use, referring to FIG. 3 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the user's one shoe is fixed by the two binding straps 145 of the binding device 14 and the snapping strap 25 of the brake device 2, so that the user's one shoe is fixed by the skate closely to perform the skating action.
  • Referring to FIG. 4 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, when the user's one foot is inclined backward, the pivot plate 21 of the brake device 2 is pressed to pivot backward, so that the brake pad 22 of the brake device 2 is moved with the pivot plate 21 to press the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1, thereby providing a braking effect so as to stop movement of the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1.
  • Accordingly, the pivot plate 21 of the brake device 2 is pressed to pivot downward to move the brake pad 22 of the brake device 2 downward to press the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1, thereby providing a braking effect so as to stop movement of the rear wheel 13 of the main body 1. In addition, the pivot plate 21 of the brake device 2 is pressed to pivot by inclining the user's body backward or pressing the user's one shoe backward, so that the brake device 2 is operated easily and conveniently, thereby facilitating the user braking movement of the skates.
