Abstract
An air bed comprises a mattress which is inflatable and collapsible and a lot of supporting pieces provided therein. The supporting pieces are spaced equidistantly and arranged in a plurality of transverse and longitudinal lines. The upper and the lower ends of the supporting pieces are combined respectively with the upper and the lower sides of the mattress. The mattress is provided with a valve for aerating and discharging air. Combining the supporting pieces with the mattress can save material and reduce cost of production, and the air bed after aeration can give appropriate elasticity for comfortable feeling of a person lying thereon.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention is related to an air bed, and especially to an air bed composed of a mattress and a lot of supporting pieces able of saving material and reducing cost of production, and after aeration, the air bed can give appropriate elasticity for comfortable feeling of a person lying thereon.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Sleeping is necessary for a man, and using a mattress can make a person lying on the mattress for more comfortable sleeping. Mostly a normal mattress is fixedly placed on a rack. When we go outside for camping, or some visitors come to our houses and stay overnight; if beds available are inadequate, air beds can suitably give their useful function.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 showing the structure of aconventional air bed 1, the structure comprises an unventilated but inflatable andcollapsible mattress 2 and a plurality of elongate supportingstrips 3 provided in themattress 2. The supportingstrips 3 have upper andlower surfaces lower surfaces mattress 2 in an undulated line contacting mode, so that after aeration, themattress 2 is inflated for supporting weights of persons; however, the above structure uses more material, it needs to be improved in consideration of saving energy source as well as cost of production. - In view of this, and in order to get rid of the above defects to make an air bed not only able to effectively save material in use, but also able to reduce cost of production, the inventor provides the present invention based on his professional experience of years and continuous study, developing and improvement.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide an air bed which effectively saves material and reduces cost of production by providing improved supporting pieces, and after aeration, the air bed can give appropriate elasticity for a person to lie thereon.
- To get the above stated object, the air bed provided by the present invention comprises: a mattress with a flat and elongate body which is inflatable and collapsible and is provided with a valve for aerating and discharging air; a lot of supporting pieces installed inside the said mattress and arranged in a plurality of lines, the supporting pieces are combined with the upper and the lower ends with the upper and the lower sides respectively of the mattress. Whereby combining the said supporting pieces with the said mattress and aerating, the surfaces around the said upper and the said lower sides of the said supporting pieces are fully inflated that give appropriate elasticity for feeling comfortable of a person lying thereon.
- The present invention will be apparent after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a conventional air bed; -
FIG. 2 is a top view of the air bed of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of an air bed of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the air bed of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 a is a partial enlarged sectional view of the air bed of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 2 and 3 showing a preferred embodiment of anair bed 10 of the present invention, wherein theair bed 10 comprises amattress 20 and a lot of supporting pieces. - The
mattress 20 with a flat and elongate body is inflatable and collapsible, and combined from six unventilated sheets. Theupper sheet 21 is fixedly provided near a corner thereof with aventilation valve 22, thereby air can get into the elongate body to inflate the latter by aeration and when in discharging air, themattress 20 can be collapsed to save the space of storing. - The supporting
piece 30 is installed inside of themattress 20. Each supportingpiece 30 has anupper end 31 and alower end 32 of equal lengths. The middle portion thereof is narrower to form recessed areas. Every two supportingpieces 30 has therebetween transversely a distance “b”, and longitudinally a distance “c”, so that all the supportingpieces 30 are arranged to form an array. - Referring to
FIGS. 4 and 4 a, in a high-frequency irradiation mode, each supportingpiece 30 has itsupper end 31 stuck integrally on theupper side 21 of themattress 20 in a plurality of lines, and has itslower end 32 stuck integrally on thelower side 23 of themattress 20 likewise. When themattress 20 is aerated, and by connecting of themattress 20 with the supportingpieces 30, the surfaces of the upper and thelower sides mattress 20 form anair chamber 40 surrounding the combination spots of them with the supportingpieces 30, this can give appropriate elasticity for supporting the weights of persons lying thereon. - The present invention is advantageous in that: the plural supporting pieces in the air bed are arranged to form an array, each supporting piece is an individual piece, they are economized in using material; and by combining of the upper ends and the lower ends of them with the upper side and the lower side of the mattress, after aeration, the surfaces of the upper and the lower sides of the mattress are fully inflated at the areas around the combination spots of them with the supporting pieces, this can give appropriate elasticity for comfortable feeling of a person lying thereon.
- In conclusion, and according to the content disclosed hereinabove, the present invention surely can get its object to provide an air bed effective in saving material and cost of production. Having thus described my invention with the value of practicality, what I claim as new and desire to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States are:
