Abstract
This hanging system utilizes one or more brackets mounted to a surface and one or more hanger bodies attached to a picture or other similar objects. The bracket supports either a lip on the hanger body, threaded screws, or hooks on screws in the hangers for supporting and positioning the object, and to lock the object onto the bracket with a spring actuated hook.
Description
- This invention concerns a system for easily affixing an object to a wall so that the object is held securely in the desired position. It also enables the object to be easily removed from the wall.
- Known picture hangers in commercial production that hold a picture securely in place require some form of tool to attach or remove the picture from the wall. It is useful to be able to have a picture securely hung against a wall or other surface whereby it can be easily and quickly attached or removed from the mounting surface. This hanging system utilizes one or more tracks that are fastened to a surface for mounting the picture onto the track or tracks. This system makes use of spring action to provide this capability.
- This invention combines one or more horizontal brackets or tracks fastened to a wall or other surface and one or more hanger bodies attached to a picture or object. Each hanger body is configured to provide an interfacing support means for holding the picture onto the track. Some embodiments provide for horizontal positioning while others provide for horizontal, vertical and leveling of the picture. In addition to the supporting of the picture the hanger body has a spring means for locking the picture onto the track. Placing the object onto the track is then accomplished by placing the locking means onto the bottom of the track and compressing the spring as the picture is pushed up. When the supporting portion of the hanger goes over the top of the track it is then released and remains locked onto the track. Removal of the picture is accomplished by pushing the picture up until the supporting means is over the top of the track and letting the picture come down.
-

FIG. 1B is a side elevational view of the hanging system shown inFIG. 1A . -
FIG. 2 is a side elevational view of the hanging system having a vertical screw supporting the object on the bracket and the spring positioned hook engaging the bottom of the bracket. -
FIG. 3 is a back elevational view of the hanging system looking away from the wall with a hanger body having two vertical screws engaging the top of the beveled bracket and the spring positioned hook engaging the bottom of the bracket. -
FIG. 4 is a back elevational view of the hanging system looking away from the wall with a hanger body having two vertical hooks engaging the top of the beveled bracket and the spring positioned hook engaging the bottom of the bracket. -
FIG. 5 is a back elevational view of the hanging system looking away from the wall with top and bottom hangers engaging top and bottom brackets. - A locking picture hanging system that uses wall-mounted brackets and hanger bodies with one or more spring adjustable hooks attached to the pictures is the basis for this invention. The system allows the picture mounted on the bracket to be locked in place.
