Abstract
A free-standing designer leather/textile toilet tissue holder in cylindrical shape that is tailored from leather or textile and is capable of housing up to six (6) rolls of toilet tissue stacking vertically. The protective cover is conveniently hinged to the top of the toilet tissue holder to avoid simultaneously holding the cover while removing or replenishing toilet tissue. A transparent window on the cover makes viewing and identifying the contents of the holder easy by looking through the cover of the holder. A pocket on the rear of the toilet tissue holder stores air freshener or natural herbs to neutralize odours. Pegs at the base elevate the holder from the floor. It also provides a decorative, practical, hygienic and an elegant way of keeping extra bathroom tissue near by. The holder's numerous designs co-ordinate with matching towels, bath mats and other bathroom accessories.
Description
- This invention claims the benefit of the filing date of provisional application 60/461,291, filed on Apr. 4, 2003.
- This invention relates to the field of toilet tissue holders to store extra rolls of toilet tissue. It is preferable to have a practical method of storing rolls of toilet tissue without compromising on style, elegance and the choice of a tailored leather or textile holder. It is also desirable to have a toilet tissue holder that fully encloses the toilet tissue and still provide a means of identifying the contents of the holder without physically lifting the cover. Adequate space or room in small spaces is not always available for a cupboard or wall-mounted unit.
- This invention introduces leather toilet paper holders that are made in various tailored designs.
- The object of this invention is to provide a leather/textile toilet tissue holder with novelty features. The holder provides storage of multiple rolls of toilet tissue and will be easily accessible by lifting the protective cover. The protective cover is hinged to the top rear of the toilet tissue holder for selectively opening and closing the toilet tissue holder and also to prevent the user having to simultaneously hold the cover while removing or replenishing toilet tissue. The advantage of this invention is that one can easily and quickly view the contents of the holder by looking through the protective cover and the choice of tailored leather designs. It is reassuring that guests also can easily and quickly identify the contents of the holder by looking through the protective cover. A quick look through the protective cover will also indicate when it is necessary to replenish the toilet tissue. The pocket at the rear of this invention is conveniently placed to store air freshener or natural herbs to neutralize odours. The pegs at the base of this invention gracefully elevate the holder from the floor and accidental breakage is not an issue.
- The holder conveniently fits beside a pedal sink and it meets the need for both design and functionality especially in small spaces where space constraints do not allow for a mounted wall unit or a cupboard.
- There are numerous styles, types and combinations of leather/textile that can be used to give the desired result and there are also numerous combinations of embellishments to give each holder a unique look. It is aesthetically pleasing and coordinates with a line of bathroom towels, mats and bathroom accessories.
- While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

- Detailed description of the preferred embodiment is provided herein. Specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed manner.
- FIG. 1 shows the view of the open holder with hinged transparent window protective cover. The
inner structure 10 is made of desirable flexible material which is joined length wise to form a cylinder. A round base 19 is secured to one end of the cylindricalinner structure 10. The outercylindrical shell 17 is made as a cylindrical form with a round bottom using any desirable leather or textile. Theprotective cover 12 is hinged 14 to the top rear of the outercylindrical shell 17. Theinner structure 10 is then inserted into the outercylindrical shell 17, then the outercylindrical shell 17 is pulled upwards and the top is folded over 15 towards the inside of theinner structure 10 and secured by adhesive or other means to the lining of theinner structure 10. - For the
transparent window 11, a small circular portion of material is cut from the center of the cover and is replaced with transparent material thus making the contents visible by looking through thetransparent window 11. Thecover grip 13 is a piece of textile extending upwards which is attached to the top front edge of the cover. Apocket 16 is attached on the rear of the outercylindrical shell 17. At least threepegs 18 are attached to the bottom of the toilet tissue holder to gracefully elevate it from the floor. - FIG. 2 shows the view of the fully assembled free-standing toilet tissue holder. There are numerous styles, types and combinations of leather/textile that can be used to give the desired result and there are also numerous combinations of embellishments to give each toilet tissue holder its distinctly unique look.
- FIG. 3 shows a colour view of one of the numerous tailored designs.
