Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a makeup brush, and more specifically to a makeup brush in which the joining of the powder cartridge and the middle cap and the joining of the powder cartridge and the cover can be securely maintained.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Generally, a makeup brush is a makeup device for applying powder to the face and used to adjust the skin color, cover skin flaws and protect the skin from dust, wind, ultraviolet rays, etc.
- Such a makeup brush is, as shown in FIG. 1, composed of a
body 1 having abrush 2, and amiddle cap 3 and apowder cartridge 6 that are joined in sequence to the top of thebody 1. - The
middle cap 3 has a joininghole 4 formed in the center of the top and around the joininghole 4 are formed three throughholes 5, for example. - The
powder cartridge 6 has ahook 7 protruded in the center of the bottom so as to be joined with the joininghole 4 of themiddle cap 3, and around thehook 7 are formed threefeed holes 8 opposed to the throughholes 5 of themiddle cap 3. - The
cover 9 joined to the top end of thepowder cartridge 6 is joined pivotly to one side of the top of thepowder cartridge 6 by ahinge 10 so that the inside of thepowder cartridge 6 can be opened during use. - However, the conventional makeup brush having such a composition has some problems.
- First, the joining of the middle cap and the
powder cartridge 6 is unstable. Namely, onehook 7 in the center of thepowder cartridge 6 is joined state to one joininghole 4 in the center of themiddle cap 3, and accordingly two parts are kept joined only in one region, so a little clearance is created in the direction where themiddle cap 3 and thepowder cartridge 6 are perpendicular to the central axis. Because of this, a gap is created when themiddle cap 3 and thepowder cartridge 6 are shaken in the direction perpendicular to the central axis, and the problem is that powder leaks through the gap so created. - Another problem is that because the
powder cartridge 6 and thecover 9 are joined by thehinge 10 in the conventional makeup brush, thecover 9 is frequently opened by impact or collision with other things when the makeup brush is carried in a bag. Due to this, powder would leak out of the inside of thepowder cartridge 6, contaminating the bag. - It is an object of the present invention to provide a makeup brush, in which not only the middle cap and powder cartridge are kept securely joined but also the opening and covering of the cover are made with the joining of the powder cartridge and the cover kept securely, so that the loss of powder can be prevented by preventing powder from leaking out through the gap between powder cartridge and cover.
- In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a makeup brush comprising: a body in and out of which a brush is taken; a middle cap that is joined to the top end of said body and in which a pair of latch protrusions are formed opposedly at the inner rim of the top end; a powder cartridge that is provided with guide slots formed around both sides of the bottom, insert slots formed at the point halfway between both guide slots so that said latch protrusions of the middle cap advance along the guide slots, a plurality of support jaws formed in the guide slots so that the latch protrusions advancing along the guide slots can move step by step, and a stepped portion formed in the guide slots so as to obstruct the movement of the latch protrusions, and in which a slope is formed at the top end of the opening portion thereof; and a cover that is joined to the opening of said powder cartridge.
- Other objects and aspects of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
- FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view showing the conventional makeup brush;
- FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the makeup brush of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is an assembled cross sectional view of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2;
- FIG. 4 is a plan view showing the operation of the main part of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2.
- Below will be described in detail a makeup brush according to a preferable embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings.
- FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the makeup brush of the present invention; FIG. 3 an assembled cross sectional view of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2; and FIG. 4 is a plan view showing the operation of the main part of the brush illustrated in FIG. 2. As shown in these drawings, the makeup brush according to the present invention is made up generally of a
body 11, amiddle cap 13, apowder cartridge 6, and acover 24. - In and out of the
body 11 is taken thebrush 12, and to the top end of thebody 11 is joined the bottom end of themiddle cap 13. On the top of themiddle cap 13 are formed two throughholes 14, and on the inner rim of the top end are formed a pair oflatch protrusions 15 opposedly. - The
powder cartridge 16 has twofeed holes 17 formed on the bottom so as to be opposed to the throughholes 14 of themiddle cap 13, a pair ofguide slots 18 formed on the outer rim of thefeed holes 17, and insertslots 19 formed at the point halfway between bothguide slots 18 so that thelatch protrusions 15 advance along theguide slots 18. - Here, in the
guide slots 18 are formed a plurality ofsupport jaws 20 at a predetermined interval so that thelatch protrusions 15 of themiddle cap 13 advancing along theguide slots 18 can move step by step. At both ends of the guide slot 18s are formed steppedportions 21 obstructing the rotation of thelatch protrusions 15. - The top end of the opening portion of the
powder cartridge 16 is formed in aslope 23 to make it easy to put powder into thepowder cartridge 16, and around the opening of thepowder cartridge 16 is formed amale screw 22. - On the inner rim of the
cover 24 is formed afemale screw 25 that is to be joined to themale screw 22 of thepowder cartridge 16. - In the makeup brush with such a composition of the present invention, if the two
latch protrusions 15 of themiddle cap 13 are adhered closely each other opposed to the twoinsert slots 19 of thepowder cartridge 16, the twolatch protrusions 15 are guided to the inside of theinsert slots 19 to be placed in theguide slots 18. - If the
middle cap 13 or thepowder cartridge 16 is rotated in any one direction in this condition, thelatch protrusions 15 are rotated along theguide slots 18. At this time, because the plurality ofsupport jaws 20 are formed at a predetermined interval in theguide slots 18, thelatch protrusions 15 are rotated step by step in theguide slots 18 by the plurality of thesesupport jaws 20. When thelatch protrusions 15 reach thestepped portion 21 on one side of theguide slots 18, the rotation of thelatch protrusions 15 is obstructed by thestepped portion 15 so they cannot rotate any further. - As mentioned above, in the makeup brush of the present invention, a pair of the
latch protrusions 15 of themiddle cap 13 are stopped while joined to theguide slots 18 on both sides of thepowder cartridge 16, so the joined state is maintained more securely than in the conventional structure where only one part is joined. - And the makeup brush of the present invention is characterized by the structure in which the
powder cartridge 16 and thecover 24 are joined. Namely, since thefemale screw 25 of thecover 24 is fitted to the male screw of thepowder cartridge 16, these won't be separated unless thecover 24 or thepowder cartridge 16 is rotated many turns on purpose. - Therefore, in the makeup brush of the present invention, the
cover 24 won't be opened even if it is shaken severely while carried in a bag or impact is applied, and accordingly powder leaking is prevented to avoid loss. - And because the
slope 23 is formed at the top end of the opening portion of thepowder cartridge 16, an additional advantage is that it is very convenient to scoop powder into thepowder cartridge 16. - As mentioned above, according to the makeup brush of the present invention, if the two latch protrusions of the middle cap are inserted into the corresponding guide slots of the powder cartridge and then the middle cap or the powder cartridge is rotated in any one direction, the two latch protrusions are moved along the guide slots and insert slots, supported by a plurality of support jaws formed in the guide slots, and if it is rotated further the movement of the latch protrusions is obstructed by the stepped portion. Thus, not only the middle cap and both sides of the powder cartridge are securely joined and supported by a pair of the latch protrusions, the guide slots, the support jaws, and the stepped portion, but also the powder cartridge and the cover are screw-joined to make the opening of the powder cartridge airtight. Since the overall assembled state of the makeup brush is good, the reliability of the product is improved, and since the loss of powder is prevented by secure assembly, it is advantageous in the economic aspect as well.
