Abstract
Main body of toilet bowl is forming by casting of ceramic slip and then glazing and firing. It has enough mechanical strength. The main body is designed according to European and US standards and it is not a syphonic type closet. It is installed on the carriage system, which is inside the wall, and there is a plastic (PVC) special designed trapway used in the carriage system for connecting to the floor wastewater sewage system. This special designed trapway causes the syphonic action in the bowl during discharge (FIG. 11).
Description
- The present invention relates to a water flush toilet bowl as a main body and a separate trapway made from PVC, both together installed to the carriage system.
- If a wall-hang flush toilet bowl is formed by slip casting, generally due to the syphon system (for USA), bowls are very long and it is very difficult and costly to produce this type products. For the wall hang type bowls with carriage system in order to decrease the length of the ceramic closet bowl, the closet that has European type drain part and separate trapway, which create a syphonic action during discharge, is needed.
- There are big difficulties for the European producer to have a good market share in North America. The traditions in both continents are different in point of flushing of ceramic closet bowls. In the North American continent, syphonic type ceramic closets are used. So that, it is very difficult to produce a syphonic wall-hang type ceramic closets with carriage system. Since the length of the ceramic closet bowl is too high, production is very difficult and costly. In the European continent, since the flushing system is not syphonic, it is comparably easy to produce this type closets.
- Another difficulty for the syphonic type ceramic closets is the restriction of the market. Different type moulds, different production lines and different ware storages are needed. But, there is no market other than North America. Therefore, a different way for marketing the European type products to North America have to be found.
- WO 01/32996 discloses a trapway for a water closet which has a siphon action inducing part having a socket expansion part with increased pipe line diameter and restricted line part with reduced diameter, below a toilet floor surface. But this trapway is not suitable for non-syphonic water closet. Also, this trapway is designed for non-european type closets.
- It is an object of the present invention to create a syphonic action by a novel trapway for non-syphonic water closet, known as European type in the prior art.
- This object is achieved by using a separate trapway that has a graded diameter decrease. The trapway is made from PVC and fixed to the ceramic bowl drain. During the water discharge, the trapway creates a syphonic action and satisfy the ASME and CAS standard requirements.
- The novel wall mounted water closet bowl with carriage system is basically consisting of 3 different parts. These are; ceramic water closet, carriage system and PVC pipe for connecting the ceramic closet drain part to the trapway of the carriage system. Ceramic closet bowl is produced by slip casting method and it is a main body. The drain part is fulfilled the European standard requirements. The pipes for connecting the ceramic bowl drain part to the trapway are made from PVC. The length can be adjusted by cutting depending on the distance between the carriage system and ceramic bowl drain part. A rubber seal is used at one end of this pipe. By this rubber seal it fixed to the drain part of the ceramic bowl. The other end is fixed to the trapway by pushing. There is also a rubber sealing at this end of the trapway. The PVC pipe is pushed into this trapway. By this way the drain part of the ceramic bowl is connected to the trapway.
- The carriage system has a cistern including the mechanism, water inlet pipe, water discharge pipe and bolts for fixing the ceramic closet to the carriage system. Also there is another pipe used for connecting the water discharge trapway to the ceramic bowl drain part.
- FIG. 1 shows wall-hang type ceramic closet installed with 2 bolts to the carriage system.
- FIG. 2 shows the drain part of the existing wall-hang ceramic closet.
- FIG. 3 shows the complete carriage system.
- FIG. 4 shows the drainpipe used for connecting the drain part of the ceramic toilet to the inventory trapway.
- FIG. 5 shows the top and side view of this drainpipe.
- FIG. 5a shows the rubber sealing of this pipe connecting the drain part of the ceramic toilet to the inventory trapway.
- FIG. 6 shows the new inventory trapway.
- FIG. 7 shows the side view of this inventory trapway.
- FIG. 8 shows the upper part of this inventory trapway and its sealing ring.
- FIG. 9 shows the third drainpipe used for connecting the inventory trapway to the sewage system.
- FIG. 9a shows the side view and rubber sealing and seal ring of third drain pipe.
- FIG. 10 shows the coupling of the inventory trapway with third drain pipe.
- FIG. 11 shows the assembly of the complete system.
- FIG. 11 shows the assembly of the complete system. As shown in the FIG. 11 it includes the
control panel 1 for water discharge, thewater tank 2 with mechanism, thewater inlet pipe 3,ceramic water closet 4 and lowerdrain trap part 5. - The
water closet 4 shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 includes thebowl part 6 and upperdrain trap part 7, water inlet opening 8 andwater passage part 9. All these parts are integrally formed as a single piece. - The lower
drain trap part 5 is connected to the upperdrain trap part 7 and provides continues drain trap from the water inlet opening 8 to the waste outlet. The lowerdrain trap part 5 includes afirst drain pipe 10, asecond drain pipe 11 and athird drain part 12. The first end of thefirst drain part 10 is coupled to the upperdrain trap part 7 of thewater closet 4. As shown in FIG. 5a thefirst drain pipe 10 includes a rubber seal ring that is in direct contact with the outlet of the upperdrain trap part 7. The first end of thesecond drain pipe 11 has a seal ring and is coupled with the second end of thefirst drain pipe 10. The second end of thesecond drain pipe 11 is coupled with the third drain part. The first end of thethird drain pipe 12 has a seal ring and is coupled with the second end of the second drain pipe, second end of thethird drain pipe 12 is coupled with the waste outlet by the seal ring in the middle part as shown in FIG. 10. - In the preferred embodiment, the
first drain pipe 10 that connects the upperdrain trap part 7 of thewater closet 4 to thesecond drain pipe 12 is made from PVC. The length of the first drain part can be adjusted by cutting depending on the distance between the carriage system and upperdrain trap part 7. The first end of thefirst drain pipe 10 has around 120 mm diameter and there is a rubber seal at this end.First drain pipe 10 is fixed to the upperdrain trap part 7 with this rubber seal. The second end of thefirst drain pipe 10 has a 100 mm diameter and fixed to thesecond drain pipe 11 by pushing. By this way the upperdrain trap part 7 is connected to thesecond drain pipe 11. - The
second drain pipe 11 includes upper 13 andlower part 14.Upper part 13 has a shape of 90° elbow. The outer diameter of theupper part 13 is 100-120 mm. The depth is 35-40 mm. The upper part (first end of the second drain pipe 11) is fixed to thefirst drain pipe 10. Thelower part 14 diameter is graded decrease to 70 mm and 52-55 mm through the second end of thesecond drain pipe 11. The lower part 14 (second end of the second drain pipe 11) is coupled with first end of thethird drain pipe 12. - The first end of the
third drain pipe 12 has a sealing ring and coupled to the lower part of the (second end) second drain pipe. The second end is coupled to the waste outlet by the seal ring in the middle part. The rubber seal ring is used for fixing thethird drain part 12 to the waste outlet and preventing the leakage. By this way the lower drain trap part connection is created from the upperdrain trap part 7 of thewater closet 4 to the waste outlet. - Since the
second drain pipe 11 has graded dimension decrease, during the flushing it creates a symphonic action and meet the requirement of the ASME standards.
