Abstract
A base having a plurality of recesses defined in an inside thereof and a cover pivotably connected to the base. A receiving portion is located in the tool box and has a plurality of holes which are accessible from outside of the tool box. Tools that are not in use can be inserted in the holes of the receiving portion to prevent from being lost.
Description
- The present invention relates to a tool box that has a receiving portion in the tool box and tools may be inserted into the receiving portion from outside of the tool box when not in use.
- A conventional tool box is shown in FIG. 1 and generally includes a
base 10 andcover 15 which is pivotally connected to a side of thebase 10. Each of thebase 10 and thecover 15 have ahandle 11/16 connected thereto and alocking piece 17 is connected to thecover 15 so that when thecover 15 is mounted onto thebase 10, thelocking piece 17 may snap to a piece (not shown) on thebase 10 to secure thecover 15. A plurality ofrecesses 12 are defined in an inside of thebase 10 so as to receive tools in therecesses 12. Arecess 18 is defined in an inside of thecover 15 and atransparent board 19 are engaged with therecess 18 so that the tools in the tool box can be seen via thetransparent board 19. While in use of the tool box, tools are taken from the tool box and put on the ground randomly. This is because the users do not want to open and close thecover 15 every time when picking a tool from the tool box. The tools on the ground roll away or mixed with other objects and difficult to find when needed. - The present invention intends to provide a tool box that has a receiving protrusion with holes and the tools can be inserted into the holes from outside of the tool box while not in use.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a tool box which comprises a base having a plurality of recesses defined in an inside thereof and a cover pivotably connected to a side of the base. A receiving portion is located in the tool box and has a plurality of holes defined in a surface thereof which is accessible from outside of the tool box.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the tool box of the present invention;
- FIG. 2 shows that a tool is inserted in the hole in the receiving portion from outside of the tool box of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is a top view to show the tool box of the present invention;
- FIG. 4 shows the tool box of the present invention is opened;
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view to show a tool is inserted in the hole of the receiving portion from outside of the tool box of the present invention, and
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view to show another embodiment of the tool box of the present invention.
- Referring to FIGS.2 to 5, the tool box of (the present invention comprises a
base 2 having a plurality ofrecesses 21 defined in aninside 20 thereof so thattools 4 can be engaged with therecesses 21. Twopivotable members 24 are located on a first side of thebase 2 so as to be connected with twopivotable members 30 of acover 3. Thecover 3 includes a transparent board and amagnifying mirror 33 is engaged with the transparent board. Apressing member 32 is located at an inside of thecover 3 and thepressing member 32 is able to press thetools 4 in therecesses 21 so that thetools 4 will not shake when the tool box is carried. Thebase 2 has anengaging member 25 on a second side thereof and thecover 3 has alocking piece 31 which is disengageabely connected to theengaging member 25. - A
receiving portion 22 located in the tool box and extends from theinside 20 of thebase 2. A plurality ofholes 23 are defined in a surface of thereceiving portion 22 and theholes 23 are accessible from outside of the tool box. Thecover 3 has anopening 34 defined through the transparent board so that thetools 4 can be inserted in theholes 23 via theopening 34. - FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of the present invention wherein the
receiving portion 35 extends from an inside of thecover 2 andholes 36 defined in thereceiving portion 22 and through thecover 3, so that thetools 4 can be inserted in theholes 36. It is to be noted that the way that thetools 4 are positioned to the receiving portion can be any known method such as snapping, and the material of the receiving portion can be made by soft material so that the tools may penetrate into the receiving portion. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
