Abstract
A cloth-painting frame is constructed to include a piece of painting cloth, the piece of painting cloth having a planar woven writing surface for drawing a picture and writing letters and a fringe suspended around the periphery for decoration, and a frame adapted for holding the piece of painting cloth.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to fine arts and, more particularly, to a cloth-painting frame, which comprises a frame holding a piece of painting cloth that has a drawing painted thereon, letters written thereon, or a printing transfer-printed thereon.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- For a special memorial day, people may give or send a specially designed card to the relative or friend to show one's compliments. However, a complimentary card of this kind tends to be damaged by moisture or vermin. Framing a complimentary card keeps the complimentary card well protected. However, it requires a special technique to frame a complimentary card. Further, the cost of framing a complimentary card is high.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a cloth-painting frame, which is suitable for use as a complimentary gift to show one's compliments to one's relative or friend. It is another object of the present invention to provide a cloth-painting frame, which has a piece of painting cloth for allowing the user to drawing a drawing, write words, or transfer-print a printing to show one's compliments. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a cloth-painting frame, which keeps the user's artwork well protected against moisture and vermin. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a cloth-painting frame, which is inexpensive to manufacture. To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the cloth-painting frame comprises at least one piece of painting cloth, the at least one piece of painting cloth each having a writing surface; and a frame adapted for holding the at least one piece of painting cloth on the inside and keeping the writing surface of each piece of painting cloth visible from the outside of the frame.
- FIG. 1 is an elevational view of a cloth-painting frame constructed according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a front view of the first embodiment of the present invention, showing letters written on the writing surface of the piece of painting cloth of the cloth-painting frame.

- Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a cloth-painting frame is shown comprising a piece of
painting cloth 10 and aframe 20 holding the piece ofpainting cloth 10. Theframe 20 comprises a transparent face panel (glass) 21 and a stiff backing 22. The piece ofpainting cloth 10 is sandwiched in between the transparent face panel 21 and the stiff backing 22. The piece ofpainting cloth 10 has afringe 11 suspended around the border. Thefringe 11 can be formed of a number of tassels. The piece ofpainting cloth 10 can be of any of a variety of shapes and colors. Before fastening the piece ofpainting cloth 10 to theframe 20, the user can drawing drawings or sketches or write letters on the surface of the piece ofpainting cloth 10, or print the desired printing on the piece ofpainting cloth 10 by means of transfer-printing. According to this embodiment, the piece of painingcloth 10 has a heart-like shape. The piece ofpainting cloth 10 preferably has a smooth woven surface suitable for painting. Uneven surface is not suitable for oil painting. Further, the piece ofpainting cloth 10 is preferably made of cotton or absorptive fibers. If the piece ofpainting cloth 10 is not absorptive to paint, the drawing/sketches will lack in clearness and brightness and may come off from the piece of paintingcloth 10 easily. - FIGS.3˜9 show various different alternate forms of the present invention. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece of
painting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the piece ofpainting cloth 101 has a rectangular shape. According to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the piece ofpainting cloth painting cloth 106 is shaped like a star. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 9, the piece ofpainting cloth 107 is shaped like a flower. - FIGS.10˜12 show other different alternate forms of the present invention. As illustrated, the cloth paining frame can be made having multiple pieces of painting
cloth 10;101;102;106 held in theframe 20. - A prototype of cloth-painting frame has been constructed with the features of FIGS.1˜11. The cloth-painting frame functions smoothly to provide all of the features discussed earlier.
- Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
Claims (20)
1. A cloth-painting frame comprising:
at least one piece of painting cloth, said at least one piece of painting cloth each having a writing surface; and
a frame adapted for holding said at least one piece of painting cloth on the inside and keeping the writing surface of each of said at least one piece of painting cloth visible from the outside of said frame.
2. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a fringe suspended around the border thereof.
3. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said fringe is comprised of a plurality of tassels.
4. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the writing surface of each of said at least one piece of painting cloth is a planar woven surface.
5. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 4 , wherein said planar woven surface is absorptive.
6. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said planar woven surface is absorptive to oil paint.
7. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth is respectively a colored piece of painting cloth.
8. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth includes a plurality of pieces of painting cloth of different shapes.
9. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a heart-like shape.
10. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a rectangular shape.
11. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a circular shape.
12. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a polygonal shape.
13. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a geometric shape.
14. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth each has a star-like shape.
15. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the writing surface of each said pieces of painting cloth extends over the whole area of the respective piece of painting cloth.
16. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the writing surface of each of said at least one piece of painting cloth has a drawing painted thereon.
17. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the writing surface of each of said pieces of painting cloth has letters written thereon.
18. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the writing surface of each of said pieces of painting cloth has a printing transfer-printed thereon.
19. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said frame has a stiff backing and a transparent face panel connectable to said stiff backing.
20. The cloth-painting frame as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said at least one piece of painting cloth is sandwiched in between said stiff backing and said transparent face panel.
