Abstract
A tint brush with diffuser consists of a container that screws onto the tinter body with a diffuser. The diffuser significantly improves continuous and even flow of the dye, eliminating unwanted side leakage at the bases of the bristles. This is done by covering or by introducing the dye to the bristles above the triangle like gaps at the base of the bristles. A tinter body with a diffuser can also be manufactured with different kinds of the flow regulators, a constant resistance flow regulator and the adjustable resistance flow regulator. Another feature that can be included on the tinter body is a needle point that can be inserted into the front side of the collector chamber of the tinter body, or designed as an extension member of the flow regulator. Bristle plate can also be attached with two teeth member onto the nozzle diffuser for a quick assembly or removal if desired.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention is directed to the art of tint brushes and more particularly, to a tint brush that is supplied with hair color dye through a specialized color distributor with diffuser. The tint brush of the invention could be used as an “all purpose” brush as well.
- 2. Description of Prior Art
- Presently there are several known hair color applicators and hair color dispensers. All of these devices have disadvantages, and are therefore commercially limited. The major problem with these prior dispensers and applicators include outside leakage between roots of bristles by using color mixture. This is primarily flaw of the assembling process which can not be changed. In the process of implantation of the bristles into the tinter body, a wedge like shape of bristles is formed, which in turn causes the creation of small triangular like gaps at the base of the bristles that in turn cause side leakage of the dye. The diffuser overcomes this problem of the dye leakage at the roots of bristles by introducing the dye in an evenly spaced bristle region (gapless region).
- It is therefore desirable to have a tint brush with a diffuser that can distribute hair dye mixture evenly throughout all the bristles.
- A tint brush with diffuser is provided including hair color dye container adapted for threaded engagement with tinter body with diffuser. Preferably, the tint brush with diffuser screws onto the color distributor.
- The bristles are positioned in the grooves of the tinter body, which can be designed with two different diffusers. One type of the diffuser (enclosing diffuser) engulfs/encloses the base of the bristles and another one (nozzle diffuser) that extends to the evenly spaced region of the bristles. Primary object of the invention is to provide a tint brush than enables even and controlled dye mixture diffusion.

- FIGS.1A-1E illustrates the apparatus which includes reusable
color mixture container 1 with anatomicallyshaped body 19 attached to atinter body 2. The reusable containers is preferably made of a transparent or semitransparent plastic material such as, PVC or similar, so that the hair dye mixture contained therein can be easily observed and discharged. Thecontainer 1 of FIGS. 1A, 1B, and 1C is adapted to hold a creamer developer, which is combinable with permanent cream colorant. Thecontainer 1 is screwed onto thetinter body 2. The device shown in figures is ready for use in hair dying after preparation of mixture by shaking cream colorant and cream developer in thecontainer 1. During use of the device, dye mixture flows from thecontainer 1 outward throughneck portion 12 and into adamper region 3 defined in thecollector chamber 4 of thetinter body 2. Thedamper region 3 prevents hydraulic shock when thecontainer 1 is squeezed forcing the dye to exist through radial exit bores 5. The radial bores 5 are provided with funnel-shapedrecess 6 which tangent the set ofbristles 9. Theextension member 7 withinside surface 16 encloses thebristles 9 further, the enclosing diffuser prevents dye mixture leakage between triangle like gaps of thebristle roots 17, and helps deliver continuos and even flow of the dye to the top of thebristles 9. Theextension member 7 is connected onto thetinter body 2 with twoteeth 13, which enter thegrooves 14. Theextension member 7 sits on theedge 15 of thetinter body 2. Thecircular tooth 8 is formed on thetinter body 2 which sealsneck member 12 formed on thecontainer 1.Needlepoint member 11 is mounted on the front end of thecollector chamber 4. Thebristles 9 are stapled intogrooves 18. Thebristles 9 are used for application of the dye mixture. Speed of the exiting dye mixture is controlled by squeezing thecontainer 1. Theneedlepoint member 11 is adapted to be screwed onto thetinter body 2 and is designed for dividing the hair tufts while dying the hair. Theneedlepoint 11 is sealed using an O-ring 10. - FIGS.2A-2G illustrates the apparatus similar in function and form to that described above in connection with FIGS. 1A-1E with exception that it has a built in
flow regulator 29 that includesadjustable head 29X. The purpose of theflow regulator 29 is to control the flow rate of the dye mixture by turning theadjustable head 29X. FIG. 2F showsadjustable head 29X from a position of minimum flow, (marked with a dot) 29B, to the maximum flow (marked with dot) 29C. Thedot 29A marks the fixed starting point. Theflow regulator 29 is sealed with two O-rings 28 and fixed with retainingring 22. Theneedlepoint 11 hasfoot spur member 21, which is located inhole 21A. Theneedlepoint 11 has alsofoot member 26 withcylindrical hole 23A, which positioned ontospur member 23 withcircular member 24 that prevents theneedlepoint 11 from disassembly. FIG. 2G illustratescollector body 25A placed into the neck-connector member 25C that is secured withteeth 25 ingrooves 25D and sealed with O-ring 28.
